I had not heard of Mayer. I can hear the Field and also Chopin. Strangely can also here where Glinka was influenced. Very clean and clear and somewhat simple but beautiful . Am intrigued and would like to hear more of his 349 works. Thanks for posting this.
Charles Mayer is one of my favorite piano composers of that glorious era of virtuoso xix century Golden Age (with Czerny, Cramer, Moscheles, Thalberg, Mereaux, Le Couppay). Obviously everyone knows about stunning op 200 but I have listened to more pieces (often midi) yet possibly not even 10% maybe 5% of what he wrote. You added another brick in the wall.... Beautiful choice. Thanks

PrestoMusic just released Charles Mayer: Jugendträume Op. 300; Jugendblüthen Op. 121 and I found out that Mayer was a student of John Field. 🤩
