Monfils is always class. Such a nice guy
I love these two so damn much!!
Love that exchange at the net. Both absolute class acts
This matchup is guaranteed entertainment, and it delivered. Gael coming out on top on some bonkers long points, but Carlos is the man to beat at the moment.
Alcaraz is too good for anyone, the speed he has in the balls is unbelievable, so fast and nimble he is simply the best on the tour at the moment!
Yes but his game is very physical to produce those painful looking contortionist shots so hopefully he can stay injury free. Sinner is more tactical and graceful.
We will see against Sinner and hopefully Novak (if Carlitos can get past the Italian). Novak was kinda frightening yesterday! He is highly motivated to win his 100th title in China, cos Asian crowds have always been the best towards him throughout his career. He enjoys playing in Asia, he feels way more loved and respected than in other continents (i'm Greek btw, just to get this out of the way). And a motivated Novak playing the way he did yesterday, is always the favorite against anyone!
@@jay_kulinaYou put too much relevance to yesterday’s match. Washed out Cobolli with super tough scheduling was not a test at all. Novak had easy job with the substandard quality of balls he was getting from the Italian. One can be only as agressive as the other allows him.
Couple months ago djokovic beat him on his best surface in the Olympic gold medal not sure about that…
@@NunoLança-p4t 1. Clay is not his best surface. It’s not suitable for his attacking game he enjoys most. He is still very good and natural mover on clay, because he was raised on it, but his preferable style is not clay court tennis.
2. Coming back from grass didn’t help. Experience helps with smoother transitions between surfaces so Djokovic had slight advantage in this. After 20 years on tour he can switch between surfaces better than the young players.
3. Djokovic wanted the Olympic gold more, no one can argue about that. It was a willpower win more than anything else. Hats off for pulling it off in the tiebreaks but such clinical performance might never happen again.
4. Alcaraz shouldn’t have played doubles with Nadal and preserve all energy for the singles tournament.
Despite everything, it was super close and 7:6 7:6 doesn’t mean Djokovic owns him. Alcaraz is back stronger while Djokovic having “completed tennis” has nothing more to prove and the father time will eventually take over the last bits of ambition he might have. My guess is he will be lucky to win his 100th title on a Masters 1000, but no way he will make 25th GS. Best of 5 against Alcaraz or Sinner is no chance at 38. Just being realistic here.
2 grandisimos jugadores, y Monfils, todo un caballero !
Enhorabuena campeón 🇪🇦💪
Fortunately, Monfils survived this match without any injuries because there were moments when Alcaraz was spinning him like a windmill😂
No kidding. Really worried when I saw him slip. Need to have more Alcaraz v. Monfils maches.
@@mateusglowacki anyone knows where can I watch this for free
Monfils is one of the best of his generation and so great to see him playing so well still. Except for Joker all the players of his generation have retired. Honestly he's too good not to win a Grand Slam.
@@jonfreeman9682 no man, he is too much inconsistent
@@paulabraham9766at 1 x bet app
That’s the beauty of watching Alcaraz you will always expect some kind of incredible shots whoever he’s playing against that no one will ever emulate. Always entertaining and a pleasure to watch 🤣
Monfils is still doing good, fun to watch
Prime Monfils would destroy overhyped kid Alcatraz

@@Outlandish04 GS, 16 ATP titles, youngest number 1, above 80% win rate and only 21 years old with all these achievements when too many players would wish to retire with that resume, and here you are saying that he’s overhyped 😂😂
good....more like incredible....I mean especially for his age. I never wanna see this man leave the tour!
merci les gars .. bravo pour ce bon esprit
whats amazing is that Alcaraz seem to get along well with every player.
what, why did u say that gael is a wonderful man, but u give alcarez the praise and forget about gael, remember his raquet show in anger
Monfils The Man !!!!!! 38 years old man is amazing i love to watch whow he play !!
Very rare to keep that level at that age. Only Joker Federer Nadal have been able to do it. Wawrinka now loses to even no name players. Your body just can't hang on anymore.
Monfils. Pure joy to watch him play. One of my all time favourites. I wish he had more titles.
When I see a match/video like this, I know that tennis is in good hands. Both such warm people, even if a little different, I like them both so much. (And leave it at that). I'm proud of Monfils for the way he stood his ground and exchanged such nice shots with Alcaraz. The laugh at the end - that's tennis.
BOTH very entertaining to watch, lotsa bolting power in both of them, initially at least, historically, gael tends to run outta gas in the longer matches or at 5 setters....
Alcaraz gets his sweet revenge for his recent loss against Monfils, but Monfils always puts up a great show!
Always a joy to watch Carlos and LeMonf. Congrats to Carlos for the win.
Always refreshing to see Monfils play. Box office player.
Congrats, Carlos! Good luck the next match!❤
If Carlos wins this or Paris (or ATP finals) we could say it was a very very good year for him😊😊
몽피스는 항상 승부이상으로 테니스를 즐기는거 같아서 보기좋더라.
Alcaraz always smiles with anyone, a very nice man!!
A class act. Both him and Sinner are great athletes and sportsmen and tennis could not be brighter with these two talents.
Alcaraz evolving game for fast courts. Serve botting and not getting broken. Taking ball early. Flat hitting and short swings. He want that year end and aus open trophy. Even us open is fast now. That is what great champions do. Evolve their games
his serve is far from being great
It is working fine if u r watching. He is serve botting on fast surface. He doesn't have to be isner to serve great@@polanski2399
@@polanski2399 you dont need a great serve if everything else you do is better than the big 3
@@OhGeeRonC HUH XD
He's still improving as is Sinner but it's hard to get much better as he's nearly peaked. He just needs to stay healthy and avoid injuries. But he's done well and has talent to win more Grand Slams. But his game is very physical. Sinner is more graceful and tactical with his shots. Sinner is like Federer and Carlos is like Nadal. Zverev is like Murray and Medi is like Joker light. Sinner and Carlos can both improve and when they play each other it's truly magical.
Bravo les gars pour ce beau match. 👍
J’adore l’etat d’esprit de ces joueurs. Ça joue super bien et Ça sourit quelque soit le
résultat. Continuez comme çà. Pour le coup le tennis est le VRAI SPORT DE
GENTLEMEN !! 🍾👍
Good to see they both enjoyed the match and the overall spirit was so positive. Last time Alcaraz was really tense and couldn’t cope with losing to a guy who got beaten by Djokovic 19 times in a row. I think that’s why he was so frustrated, especially after the Olympic final loss. But it seems like the experience made him stronger.
Such an entertaining match .. In both sets, Alcaraz upped his game just when he had chances to take breakpoints. Monfils was serving monster serves.
The depth of Monfils’ shots is just crazy
Yo I went to bed thinking sorry Monfils Carlos had a bad day in the office when you beat him the last meet. Woke up confident and watched the highlights. Casually going about my day. 😌Vamos!
I honestly believe Alcaraz is the most gifted player of all time in terms of all around capabilities I.e technique, physicality, understanding of the game
Impossible to beat Alcaraz twice in a row 🙌
Carlos won 59% of points but it took him until 4-4- to find his range and rythm. Until then he played tame and had quite a few unforced errors similar to his 2023 play style on hard courts while Monfils was using powerful, precise shots. But even when he didn't have his rhythm the serve was on point throughout the entire match, especially under pressure.
¡Enorme Carlos!💪💪🔥❤🇪🇸
2:51 what is off brand Agassi doing in Carlos’ box 😂
I think it’s the first time I watch Alcaraz’s highlights and the opponent is as entertaining as him, usually the other player is almost invisible to me.
Super enjoyable match 🎉🎉
Felicidades, Carlitos! ❤
Alkaraz, you're a star. Tennis comes easy to you.❤
Love both of these players xx
Monfils and Dimitrov are the players I would really like to win a grand slam before they retire. Probably won’t happen…
I agree would have liked to see it happen
Monfils will have a great chance at French Open 2025 tho
Only players i dont mind winning over Carlos. Great players and wonderful souls on and off court. Dimi is in good form as well and his gameplay is exquisite
@@Andres-qm1xx nice joke mate.
Crazy to see Gaël able to push Carlos to the tie break ... I wish these guys injury free 2025 ;)
7/5, no tie break. But almost, yup.
I think Gael is able to do better than expected against Carlos because he's willing to play low-percentage tennis. High-percentage tennis simply will not beat an in-form Carlos. I wish more players would alter their game to push Carlos like Gael did here. Better to take the risks and have a chance than to play it safe and get trounced.
If he stops clowning and trying to play every shot like a highlight then yeah he will be injury free
Monfils is still playing good at his age. Most have retired so let's give him credit for hanging on.
@@jonfreeman9682 the fact that he is still able to go head to head with the best players in the world is crazy
Alcaraz has defended his 680 points post us open 2023. And by aus open he will be prime position to get number one and career slam. If he wins Shanghai or paris and goes deep at year end trophy
El Slam sería con el Open Australia. Alcaraz 2 wimbledon, 1 RG, 1 US Open. Saludos
@@andaluciasimple6348what? I said same. He has only aus open left. Worry abt that binner being hardcourt merchant
@@deepakmahajan-g3cwtf does that even mean?
@@Mc-kk4fd ignore him, just stupid comments
Yes but Sinner is ahead of him by 2000 points so no chance to be number 1. But he can stay top 5 for awhile without defending points.
Alcaraz on revenge tour!! I can't wait him to win one masters year end and maybe year end trophy too the way he is playing on fast courts now. Aus open and youngest career slam holder he wanna become
Wait a minute are you saying he hasn't won one yet? He's too good not too. Sinner and Carlos are the two best right now and if they can both stay healthy we can enjoy true tennis poetry.
@@jonfreeman9682he has won Madrid, Indian Wells and Miami. Reached finals of Cincy. Would be good to see him win Shanghai and Paris Bercy. He hasnt won any indoor titles yet so would be good to win that elusive one at Paris Bercy or Basel/Vienna or the ATP Finals. Lastly he needs to win AO to complete the career slam
Just a pleasure to see an Alcaraz Monfils.
Alcaraz is too good
Carlos es tremendo. Monfils siempre se motiva vs él.
Alcaraz 😮🇪🇸
Bene Carlitos... Molto difficile.. Però tuo gioco a andato avanti.. 👍
Good fight
Gran bel match. Grande qualità. La classe e l'esperienza di Monfils non sono bastati. Comunque bravo. Alcaraz al top della sua condizione. Sarà difficile batterlo, anche se non impossibile.

Am wondering about monfils .. How good he is when he was in prime … still he is able to beat top 10 atp player may expect Novak ..lo😅😅😮😮😮
Huge Respect for Monfils… 🙏 🙏
O tênis já foi tão bonito!
Monfils has the potential to get to Alcaraz' level, this match was won by Alcaraz mostly due to a better mental preparation from Alcaraz rather than technical
Alcaraz servebotting on fast court. Alc nation we never expected this day😂. He is taking short swings and ball early updating his game for fast courts. Aus open is in his sight!

Monfils plays great vs Alcaraz
Alcaraz looked so tired at start with no power. In eight game of first set he started hitting big and ran away with the match on such fast surface
Damit need alcaraz and under 21.5games
Monfils is good but he just can't seal the deal!
why is monfils playing better than when he was young 😅

Close match despite monfils being 39 years old. Imagine younger prime monfils against alcaraz
It wasn't close and prime alc will still beat any of prime monfils who can peak for one set ..alc is generational talent and monfils isn't. Hypothetical situations r fun to pat ur own back and ego

Monfils is never going to reach his full potential. It's like he's only good for TV
Carlos is playing very very poorly this week. If he plays like this to Sinner or Nole is a guarantee loss 6-2 6-2.

If he can't beat Paul in qf, then he can not win ao 2025 as ao is faster hard court .
he can beat anyone any time of the day, don't worry, you'll see
