    I made a pair of "Pokin' Sticks" to save my soft, flexy fingernails. I use them for removing Athearn (and other) shells. Coffee stir sticks, trimmed flat and tapered to a wedge, like a chisel. A drip of fast set CA to "harden" the wood and Voila! Instant nail saver! (You just need to remember where you put them... I colored the ends red to help me find them in the "tool pile," on my work bench.)

    We have done 3 Athearn blue box F7 conversions with different ESU decoders including a B unit with a LokPilot and had not thought to do what you did! Thanks for the idea. As of now our A-B-A is running without the weights, although still pulling a lot up our 2% incline. I will definitely revisit the internal routing after seeing your video though. 👍

      Glad to be of some help. I also have removed that weight in the past as it seemed over kill.

    Good job Dave! I would have thrown that chunky weight away. really no need for it. Did you make the truck side frame with your magic 3 D printer?

    • @ScottRails
      @ScottRails  2 місяці тому +1

      The side frame was in the box.

    Great job as usual!. I take it, you haven't been able to get some "Liquid electrical tape"??.

      I did get some from Amazon, but it arrived leaking and solid, so sent it back.

      @@ScottRails Oh geez, what a bummer :( . There should be any available at a local hardware store or any store that has a hardware dept. .

    Kevin LED lights get the brightness from the amperage not from the voltage like a regular incandescent bulb

    Mr. Scott, you are not talking to your self, your are solving problems on the fly. You will notice your wiring is getting better as you talk though the problem. I am constantly talking though problems too. That is where you get to solve each section on your up grade. The person you are doing this for could give you a some kind of donation for your work. Go to a hobby shop that do CDD upgrades would cost around $ 300.00 to $ 400.00 dollars plus parts and labor. Mike

    Can you give us a link to those micro-mini connectors, please? Thanks!

      These were sent to me as a gift, but I think they came from Ali Express. Do a search for micro 2 pin connectors.

    Great video but oh my, 46 minutes for an installation and repair is just too much. Please, if you can, edit the unnecessary parts of your video out so we aren’t just sitting here watching you try to figure out something. Like try to figure something out and then edit that part out so we don’t sit here for a long time. No hate though.
