Jeddah Tower vs. Burj Khalifa: Saudi Arabia to Steal the Title of the Tallest Building from Dubai
Jeddah Tower, also known as the “برج خلیفہ” (Burj Khalifa) in Arabic, is set to surpass the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai. This monumental structure, rising to a staggering height of 1,000 meters, will soon claim the title of the world’s tallest building. Located in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this architectural marvel will stand 172 meters taller than the Burj Khalifa. The tower’s construction, spanning an area of 1.5 square kilometers, will house multiple offices, international restaurants, and other facilities. As Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) resumes work on this ambitious project, it is expected to reach a pinnacle height of 3,280 feet. For comparison, the Burj Khalifa stands at 2,722 feet with its 163 floors. JEC has enlisted the services of construction companies to expedite the tower’s completion, aiming to finish by the end of 2023. Despite years of delays and financial challenges, this iconic tower is poised to redefine the skyline once it stands tall and proud.
