Biggest issue is the classic revolvers which Lego seems to be straying away from with what I’ve seen but they did bring them back for the Indiana Jones line so it’s definitely a lot more possible. Not like they couldn’t replace that part anyways.

Droidika and Bohroks always felt like the same idea in different worlds at the same time.

That droideka was so perfect! So glad it remained movie accurate, not just clone wars accurate! Now do one for grievious (clone wars 2003 holding lightsabers with his feet, stomping ki adi mundi)

The original lego Droideka is easily my favorite for the fairly appropriate proportions and shaping, but most of all the ability to actually fold it up into a ball! I don't know if it was really intentional by the designer, but it's such a key coolness-factor of the Droidekas, and it's a shame none of the later iterations have attempted this.
Your design is really cool, although personally I'd might attempt to try and combine it with some of the elements of the original.

I built a droideka once too. It's a fair bit larger than "to scale" though, using the smallest Bionicle parts I have.

something else you could potentially achieve with your moc are the two side panels that aren't present in any of the official builds, thanks to the weapon rack's extra pinholes

Original design was brilliant as you could actually fold in into a “ball” great rebuild
