Why is Splash Mountain so great??? It tells an actual story. The beginning of the ride was brightly lit up and cheerful, but as the ride went on, it got dark and gloomy. The vultures and the eerie environment around the final drop had an impact on everyone. Finally, the rabbit gets away by tricking the fox, and the happy ending had an iconic song we all love. The overall ride just makes everyone feel happy and cheerful.
As much I do love BOTH "Song of the South" and "The Princess and The Frog", I really wish Disney could've left the OLD Splash Mountain the way it was, and put the "Princess and the Frog" Ride somewhere else in the Parks!
@@SeanTheDisneyGuy This was definitely one of the most hated and unnecessary decisions for Disney. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has literally 12k likes and 32k dislikes. Almost three times as many people disliked. All of the comments were negative. If Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was actually good, Tokyo would’ve followed suit. People say that Princess and the Frog isn’t popular in Japan, but Song of the South wasn’t either. The Japanese literally adore the cute animal critters. I am thankful for OLC.
I vote for the splash mountain side as a win. Tiana's is dark with a lot of dead space and the music is annoying to be honest....splash is the reigning champion.
After “first ride” feeling wears off, and you see past the gimmicks, you realize how cheap this ride is. It “looks pretty” but the foliage is the cheapest thing in the ride. Also the bayou scenes looks the same throughout, nothing unique in each turn. The same for the second part of the attraction. Then you have a story that really doesn’t add or reflects Tiana’s character. It is Disney Jr. level and you can replace Tiana with any princess or even mickey mouse and nothing changes. With how expensive Disney is, this ride is a complete ripoff. In Splash mountain the colors used for the background were the same color in the movie as tribute to the female artist. You can see how much they cared about detail and art back in the day.
From seeing this i would take splash mountain any day. The way they did Tiana version looks cheap and wierd. Yea just the wrong choices they made in designing it.
IMO, Splash Mountain had story being told from the entrance of the waiting line to the exit of the ride. Seems it was replaced by a kid's ride as Frozen ride in Hollywood Studios. All they needed to do was renew the animatronics and scenario. Unfortunately the story of Brer Rabbit, Fox and Bear was replaced by a bunch of anymatronics with no story to tell.
There is no space at Disneyland for a new Tiana ride lol, if they had they could’ve replaced splash at Disneyland and move the animatronics from there to Florida and build a new Tiana ride somewhere in fantasyland in Florida
The new ride is a huge insult to Tony Baxter. They took his masterpiece of an attraction and replaced it with a scrapped together heap of trash with 0 plot or energy.
WDW's Splash Mt had better animatronics, but the original Splash at Disneyland had the better aesthetics and overall activity since they had over 100+ repurposed characters and the area background music wasn't shared with the rest of Frontierland, they could more clearly represent Song of the South's score. It will be nice to see a side-by-side of California's Bayou adventure when it finishes. But with that said, Secret Spice sounds like a fair-use advertising jingle. It doesn't even come close to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah on it's worse day.
Disney has gone back to 1971 buying individual rides. I’m disable took those privileges away . The parks are boring now not fresh. Splash Mountain was iconic
It was definitely iconic and sadly yes, the fast pass replacement has made it very expensive 😭 and the updates to DAS are very impactful for those needing it.
They made a mistake with this ride. Splash mountain was an amazing ride and even though I get why they wanted to change it due to its history, but they did a huge disservice to Tiana with this ride. Basically ruined a good ride, and did a terrible job with the new one.

They should have made a "Tiana's Palace" restaurant somewhere in the parks; wasn't that her dream, to open a restaurant?

"I've gotta pause so Tiana's can catch up" says it all 😂😂

It should be sponsored by Hobby Lobby.

Who else was here primarily for the Splash Mountain memories?
Splash Mountain wins by a long shot.
This is why Universal’s Epic Universe will hammer a nail in Disneys coffin.

Bring back splash mountain💀
Yeah why disney keeps ruining popular rides
@@Filburtturle I wish. At least Tokyo kept theirs, and it is the best version hands down.

The ride is amazing and beautiful. But thats it-
I love this Ride❤ Tiana
The DEI version of this ride was totally unnecessary.
Tiana’s is just depressing…….
