Both a normal mouse and trackball mouse have repetitive motion problems. I get pain behind my thumb from using the trackball while holding the left button down. I got so excited when I first saw the Contour mouse you're talking about, because I thought that little thumb cradle was like a Trackpoint in a ThinkPad laptop (think tiny high-resistance joystick). I still think this would be the most ergonomic option - you'd have infinite scroll, zero wrist movement and almost zero thumb movement. Couple that with the ergonomics of the Contour mouse body and I just think that would be the absolute best! But no one makes anything like it. T_T

Hi Rafael, I seem to have been convinced Contour mouse,I was just wondering if the middle button would work on the 3dsmax before deciding to buy it.I couldn't find any 3dsmax users who reviewed or used Contour mouse
I use the razer deathadder essencial. I prioritize ergonomics over 3 buttons mouses. Tried vertical mouse from 3d connection, and got wrist pain. I admit 3 button mouses is cool and haver their advantages to rotate the 3d model, however I dont like them. Razer deathadder got a smooth wheel click and as ergonomics go its still my number 1 mouse for Catia v5. I can work 10-12h a day without having wrist pain or being inconfortable.
I recently ordered a logitech G600 for work, not because its a great mouse or anything, but because its easier for me to use a mouse with software from a pre-approved vendor, than it is to try and get some obscure software approved.
I needed a mouse with a ton of programmable buttons! I hate having to type commands in autocad.
My work is primarily CAD and I found I often am zooming in and out of a large model and using the scroll wheel so much stressed my middle finger. Great solution I found is there are vertical mice with a joystick on top that i can map forward and back to the scroll wheel motions and just hold my thumb forward or back.

THANK YOU for finally mentioning the one ergonomic factor that after hundreds of ad-style UA-cam reviews I've never seen anyone make about a productivity mouse.
At 2.24 you describe using FINGERS to move the mouse instead of the SHOULDER - resulting in a LOT less effort & therefore fatigue and RSI. This is the problem with the logitech MX style of having a sweeping plate under your thumb - you cant push it around with the thumb-pinky combo. And yes - the scroll wheel is a shitty substitute for an actual 3rd button. For my fellow Maya users, google the HP DY651A mouse.
