Hey Colin, I agree, there are good quality aftermarket parts. I guess the customer didn't want to risk it again. There are good parts sold on the net, you just have to know what you are looking for and who you deal with. Thanks for your comment
Hi. I have a similar issue with a client's car. I'm not a mechanic but know some basics. Same engine. Throttle flat but car hardly accellerates. Checked it's not clutch related. I have to go back when the car is cold as he just returned from a trip, so I can remove and clean some sensors. What is that black round valve next to the MAP sensor? It ticks after the engine is switched off. Also scanned the vehicle. no codes. My scanner doesn't have live data for throttle position, but indicates TPS at 5.5%(which I gather is normal average) Otherwise the car idles well, the revs go up when stationary, just under load, there's no power. Thanks for any possible assistance.
The black round thing could be an evaporative solenoid - perhaps. It is hard to diagnose without information to guide me. Do you have live data at all? What is the MAP reading? Does it have sufficient fuel pressure? What are the O2 sensors doing? What are the fuel trims reading - both short term and long term? Is the air filter clean? Is the exhaust blocked?
Thanks for the information I to bought o2 sensors off eBay for a check engine light on dash ON MY BMW Z4 cleared the codes with OBD car still ran poor they came within a week put genuine o2 sensors in never a problem since and ran great
Hey Mike Evans, Just like in this video, O2 sensors can be a fickle beast. I reckon there would have been a fair difference in price between the Ebay sensors and the genuine BMW ones! Thanks for your comments 😊
Have used NGK and Bosch after market sensors in the past with great success and reasonable cost.
Beware of all parts sold on internet. Great video.

what other brand 02 sensors are reputable?
In this case, genuine was the only answer. Hard to recommend aftermarket as for some vehicles, they only create problems
Awesome video
