I received one of these on January 31st and it has been continuously operating since then (with the original 2 AA batteries I inserted) without any signs of stopping. Granted I don't have it at full volume, but still, I'm blown away by the battery life. It's loud enough for me to hear from the other room (I have a very quiet house), but it never becomes annoying. It's just a very calming presence that seems to come and go as my mind remembers it's there. Really unusual.
That's very interesting, I never thought of leaving it on for extended periods. I wonder if it eventually glitches. Maybe someone tried to do some circuit bending with the device?
The playlist is set. You can jump from one song to the other as you wish. The same song plays in a loop until you decide to change the track or power off the unit. The order of the tracks is not random. It's an album that plays on its own device.

There's no point, it's just a self-contained and overly complicated album. It's meant to be an ambiant presence.
