    winning the jack adams tends to be the kiss of death for a coach and his tenure with that team

    If you get rid of Woods and Manson, you're gonna be like Pittsburg, Toronto in previous years and many other teams. You already traded Mcdermid. Meaning if I play against them, there's no deterrent for me to go run anybody and smack them around. Nobody is losing sleep over playing Logan O'Connor or Arrturi Lehkonen

      If you get rid of Manson- you flat out won’t have 1-2 mind blowing horrible pick decisions a game. You can find a defender in this free agent class that just plays solid defense

    Its too late for him to win it, it always go to the coach of the craziest turnaround story. Or if a team wins 60 games. Thats it, thats what the coach of the year award is

    Not when he gets outcoached by Pete Deboer in the playoffs...

      Definitely not out coached. Dallas was just the better team. The guy has won us a cup 2 years ago can’t win a cup every year. Bednar is a top 5 coach and any team would die to have him. This is nowhere near his fault.

      @@shauncastle54320-3 vs deboer in the playoffs. Sharks, Vegas, now stars. This is not a coincidence. I love Bednar, but he has yet to adjust to deboer style when it counts

      @@randydalen590 last year we were injury ridden and Val left us. This year we beat Dallas 3-0 in regular season. Playoffs Val left us again right in the beginning of that series and not to mention no LOC or drouin. Dallas was stacked with depth and ottenger was playing out of his mind. Better team won I’m sorry bud but you’re wrong. Our players didn’t show up to play not bednar fault.

      @@shauncastle5432 no one mentioned last year. I stated Bednar is 0-3 vs deboer in the playoffs. That’s a fact. Game 6 turned when deboer adjusted his lines, Bednar did nothing. Again, I not once blamed Bednar in totality; deboer has his number. It is what it is

    So what would the Avs look like with a coach who has won it?

      This is like wondering what Nathan MacKinnon could do if he could just win that Hart trophy.

      @@blood_sweat_and_100_bears Exactly. SO anser the queston.

      @blood_sweat_and_100_bears 4 місяці тому

      @@TheSheepDipped the question is rhetorical... Because MacKinnon plays the same regardless of whether he wins that trophy or not. Much like how Bednar is still one of the best coaches in the league regardless of whether he's won or will ever win the Adams.
      The Avs lost one of their top six goal scorers who was battling addiction before he got suspended and the other top goal scorer (Lehkonen) got injured. Round 2 wasn't lost because of bad coaching.
      I didn't hear anyone calling Bednar a bad coach when the Avs came back from that disaster game 1 of round 1 and we're lights out against the Jets in game 2 through 5. But was that just luck and had nothing to do with coaching?

      @@blood_sweat_and_100_bears I know what you are saying. For the sake of conversation then is there a coach you would consider better than Bednard? If so isk then what would the Avs look like then?

      Honeslty they'd probably look worse. Because the Jack Adams almost always goes to the coach of a team that over performed (usually on the back of goaltending). Roy has a jack adams for his first year in Colorado. But i dont think many would argue hes a better coach then Bednar.
      People say Bednar is carried by the stars of the team. But ignore the fact bednar is part of the reason they are the stars they are. And thats ignoring the number of guys that come to colorado and have career years after struggling somewhere else.
