I've been watching most of your videos for the past few days. This is some A quality work that we fortunately get to watch for free. Thanks for your time and efforts
Love what you are doing. Especially when you do the full processing thing - from taking pictures to editing process. Not many people do it. As a learner photographer it is godsend...
Hi! I've been doing portrait photography for 12 years in Honduras but I just got asked by some friends to do some commercial photography for a restaurant they're opening, so I started looking for videos and found yours! These are great! You are so much fun to watch and I've learned new things. Thanks for sharing your time and skills!
I love how you emphasize that what you teach are techniques and tools that people can pick up here and there to place in their toolsets and use to create the image that they are envisioning. I think that’s so helpful considering when I first started all I was trying to do was frantically copy each move someone else did hoping it would give the same results on my pictures.
Binge watching your amazing video tutorials and loving every minute of it. Your images are absolutely awesome and your techniques great. Thanks for sharing!
OMG ! I can't thank you enough for making this video actually all your videos as they have help me improve my photography skill immensely. This video has up my skills in editing using Lightroom. Thanks 😊

WOW! Great tutorial! I love the way you did it. You have such a great way to talk through the camera ;)
9:40 The shortcut for masking on Windows PC is by pressing the "ALT" button and then dragging the masking tool ;) also, love your videos
Thank You so much for this tutorial. I have just begun stepping into content and commercial photography for food, and this there was such a drastic difference in my editing food after watching this. I'm compelled to go re-edit some previous worl I've already done. LOL. THANKS JOANIE!
Amazing !!! like all your tutorials. You are very kind to give this for free, as I have seen videos where they just give a hint of technique and ask us buy full pledge course. What you give as free, is quite a lot. Thanks for your kindness.

So helpful thank you!!
Thank you! you're amazing :)
Hey Joanie! You can also hit \ slash to toggle before and after rather than side by side view. Works great and more impactful comparing I find too. Thanks for the edit tips!
Nice! I love finding out about shortcut keys! This is a great one. Thanks!!
This is so helpful, thank you soooooo much!
Glad it was helpful!
me encantó muchas gracias ♥
Such a pleasant person..!!
Hi Joanie! Thank you for your tutorials! I get so much out of them! I wonder if you've ever considered doing a video about how you have collected food photo clients over the course of your career? Like, what you were doing when you started out, versus where you are now? Your career journey as a food photographer, so to speak. I think it would be grounding and practical for all of us aspiring food photographers to hear : )
Hi Courtney! I share part of it in my e-book and in the e-mail follow up you'll get from me after downloading it. As for the nitty gritty business side, definitely some content in the works for that! Oh, and here's the link to get the e-book: bit.ly/2EFgN7R
Old video but a couple things that I find helpful are using a ColorChecker Passport, and rearranging the sections in Lightroom so I can put them in order of what I use.
THAT was sooooooo helpful thank you
that was of great help...thank you :)
Excellent tutorial. I learned a few new tricks! Thank you!
Glad to help!!
option = alt on pc
Great tutorial
Thank you for your tutorial share...😀😊
Awesome video!! The keyboard shortcut for windows to mask is “alt”
Wow 😍👍
Thanks heavens they finally moved the Dehaze to the top of the panel! Used to annoy me SOOOOO much having to scroll down all the time! lol.
Great thanks 😀😀
Yes, yes, yes!!!!
holy crap, i was in a rut cause i recently realized i don't get the results i want out of my photography, but this was amazingly informative. I love it
So glad!
thanks a lot!
Thanks for this video you've been incredible and helped me build my confidence! I also wanted to ask what the code is for Windows for the masking effect?
Hi Joanie! I'm a new subscriber and I just wanted to say your videos are awesome! I took notice to your file system in this video.. I would really be interested in a video on how you organize your photos/projects/edits. Thank you!
Sure thing! I touch on some of that in my tethering video, but I'll go more in depth in a future video. Cheers!
Hi Beautiful, i am enjoying so much watching your videos, thank you for the time and effort you put into it to teach us, now, what lightroom should i get, i am a very beginner in photography, in the free in the app store i found lightroom 4 quick start, i am happy to buy as well, which one would you recomend? Tnk you so much.
Such a great and helpful video! Can I ask what is the difference between adjusting the shadows in the basic panel and - your magic - in the tone curve? Thanks in advance;-)
thanks for sharing but I'm sure a lot will be happy or should I say I will be happy you show your exporting settings next time anyway thanks for free videos and we do love it
thank you so much for your tutorial! can you possibly do a video how you shoot your videos:)?
Sure thing!
Silly question but isn’t it the same thing when you first bring out the shadows in the basic panel and then you make them darker in the curve? As in, doesn’t the second step neutralise the first?
Hey Hey. You helped heaps >;-) Thank You
I have been binging on your videos for the last couple days, I can't get enough of how easy it is to learn from them! My biggest fears in lightroom editing are the tone curve and histograms. Do you think you will have a video about tackling those when editing? I know they give you a TON of control, but is it control I am ready for? LOL.
Check out TwoLovesStudio.com. She is a Lightroom guru 🤗
@@TheBiteShot Done & Done. My shots are about to get SO much better. My DIY backdrops are drying as we speak!
Your videos have helped me a lot! I plan on getting Lightroom soon..Maybe we can collab sometime..somehow😊
I really learned two things the hard way:. If you're taking money for your images you need to be
1) editing on a good reference type monitor, so that it's not lying to you about the colours and things.
2) clean your monitor so that it doesn't hide any flluff in the image you need to be cleaning 😅
I LOVE YOU
Plz do more videos abt editing
Thank you for a great tutorial! I wanted to ask if you ever use the auto button to make the editing faster?
I don't personally just because the times I have tried it, it never seems to get it quite to my liking :) But, not to say it's bad, just not the method I use. Thanks so much for watching!
I loved this tutorial. I actully got Lightroom because of this video. But my Lightroom doesnt look like yours. :( But this program is excellent for photos! Thanks for making a great video!
So glad you found it helpful! About a week after I published this, Adobe updated lightroom, so it looks a bit different now. Darn technology, always changing :) Hope you have fun editing in Lightroom!
Have you tried editing in Capture One Pro?
Thanks
I use PhotoShop and get pretty much the same functions. Do you think Lightroom is better or where different?
I'm missing the "what's shaken bacon" intro style here🙂, or whatever it is.
Please don't mind my broken english!😟🙂
I like watching your videos. They're hugely informative.
Good day to you!🌼
Your last light room edit tutorial was Oct 21, 2017? i think its time for another in 2019 :)
everything looks so different!! :(
I like that you use skosh. Lol. No one uses that anymore...
Have you ever used the Nik Collection?
Just subscribe. It helps me a a lot 😄 thank you
Thanks this video was really helpful and I learnt alot so now my thumbnails will really pop.
And i need beginner food photography technique in more detail
When should I bother with lens corrections?
The only thing I regret about watching your videos is that I should have found it sooner 😂
So glad to hear!
Thanks for another great tutorial. I do have one question - why don’t you upload to Instagram, Facebook and other sites straight from Lightroom. That function is very good and easy to use.
Good to know! It's just not the workflow I have personally established but sounds like a great way to do things.
It's Alt key on PC
Hi, I am trying to edit my pics while using ur video as a guide but it's so hard I can't even find out how to save the edited picture XD But guess what? 4 hous passed and my pics look great ^^ at least to me XD

What kind of toolbox keeps ammo? :/
Damn, why did I find this just now
