Some Converters can charge both lead acid and lithium batteries. Look for a switch on it or better yet, get the model number and look it up first.
Never knew that I would need a different converter for lithium batteries. I plan to upgrade so I'm glad I watched this first. Thanks Todd!
16:26?... 2-minute tech tips?.... I figured it out... minutes are different on Big Beard Planet. LOL...Great tips.
Don’t overlook the emergency brake away switch. Easy to pull out when unhitching trailer. That is a quick battery killer
Todd, I’ve been watching the show for the last year and a half since I got a travel trailer. I used to have a pop-up but the winterizing and sanitizing the lines with a tankless water heater. I really haven’t seen any videos for the fureon tankless water heater? By the way love your channel!!
Wow! I always learn so much! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🖖🏻😘👍🏻🙏🏻
I live in SW Az.
Above 115 is extreme.
You're a better RV tech than an English teacher. lol. Consider this question for the next Q&A: Can I smoke my TV alternator if I have swapped out my AGM for a LiFePO4 - if I'm charging the travel trailer battery though my 7 pin adapter? I get conflicting info on this. Thanks dude.
If you do not upgrade the wires with larger wires then no you will not smoke it. The standard 7-pin connector wire will be the resistor needed to prevent the alternator from smoking.
@@NationalRVTrainingAcademyThanks for this - really. That Victron YT that shows the burning alternator has me freaked out. I'm sure it's why a lot of folks have not already switched to Lithium. Your explanation would be worth it's own Tech Tip Tuesday.
Todd, I want to connect both my galley, and my grey water tank to a wye connector in order to be able to empty all of my tanks without having to move hoses around. Should I install a gate at the wye connector to keep black water from flushing back toward my galley tank?
Keep up the great videos. My question is with regard to TPMS sensors. My Accolade came with integrated TPMS sensors from Ford. However, I don’t believe they monitor temperature. I have TST TPMS sensors from my old RV. Should I use the TST also?
Awesome video. I learned a bunch (as always)! Thank you!
One thing to keep in mind with clamp (inductive) multimeters: not all can measure DC amperage, they measure AC only with their clamp. Be sure of the specifications on your meter before using!
This true. At our school it is required to have an ac/dc amp clamp. I forgot to make that call out. Thank you.
I know I’m a little late to the party but I’m new to this storing the trailer for a couple of months as usual I left about 3 to 4 gallons of water with chemical actually mats new chemical in my black tank. Is that advisable or should I have drained completely?
Great video!❤
Love ya
Should I use rubber roof treatment on rv rubber roof?
I live in Wisconsin and store my camper outside is it better to cover it or not? Thanks From Wisconsin
covering it is a no brain-er but do not use a tarp
Here is a question for you. Will my solar panels charge on a full moon night with clear skies? Thank you!
Yes, but very little.
Question. I have a 2022 Solitude, being silly and wintering in Montana. The question is, what can I do to keep my freaking front door from freezing closed. I use my hairdryer when inside to open it but have tried window deicer when outside, but any better suggestions? I'm going to try small insulation straps & have put tape over the metal parts on the lock, but that did not solve the problem. Help please! I know, don't be in Helena in the winter😢.
If you have access to electricity how about heat tape around the outer frame?
I store my camper at storage facility when not in use. I'm too nervous to keep a charger on the battery (lead-acid) without being able to supervise it. What's the best approach to taking care of my battery? Should I remove the battery from the camper and keep a trickle charger on it, or is the battery fine keeping stored for as long as 4-5 months without getting a charge? If it's ok without a charger, should I at least disconnect the wires from the camper rather than just turning off the switch?
So the battery will get damaged over time if you aren’t charging it. I understand if you don’t want the rig plugged in without you being there. So take the battery out and put a maintenance charger on it.
Weren’t we talking about an open neutral? In the last comments of the last question, you referred to an open ground regarding the 50 amp plug. Left me confused.
The poor man's way of finding a draw is to remove a fuse. Check if there is a draw over time. If you pull a fuse and the draw stops. That is your parasite.
👍👍👍👍👍
A ford?.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So I did hear that right! lol
Yup, Todd is a Ford guy. Don't ask him about Ram.
