Don't mind me here, I am just crying my eyes out. This was such a big part of my wonderful childhood. The Disney Renaissance was a magical time. Rest In Peace, Howard Ashman.
I'm obsessed with old school animation too. I was rewatching the 1950s Disney films such as Lady and The Tramp, Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland and 90s Disney Renaissance films like Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin, and Lion King. I found myself just blown away by the animation in those films. The only American hand drawn films we got this decade if I can remember was Winnie the Pooh 2011 and SpongeBob out of Water. I watched two modern hand drawn films from Japan recently, Mary and the Witch's Flower and One Piece: Film Z and let me say it was a breath of fresh air to watch hand drawn films like those.
Linda Woolverton, the screenwriter and story wizard of Beauty and the Beast was the one who created the wonderful complexities of Belle. She is an unsung hero and the first woman to write a Disney animated film.
To be able to work with Disney is my ultimate dream. Just look how perfectionist and value driven these people are. All the animated disney movies that we got now had been through a lot of re-writing and developments. We're so lucky to experience disney legacy
Beauty and the Beast went through a lot of “re-writing and development”. It actually had different directors at the start. So to think that re-writing didn’t apply to these “older” classics is not true. How do I know? I worked on the movie.
It's a shame that Howard Ashman did not live long enough for the premier and that he didn't get to share in it's success after working so hard on it. It's also a shame that he never got to see the broadway musical version because Broadway was the field he and Alan both worked in. It's also a shame that Walt Disney didn't live to see this movie because he had been on a mission to tackle this story and the mission was finally accomplished. Walt and Howard would've been so proud of this!
I love how Disney always adds little friends to the main caracters like Ariel's fish, Aladdin's monkey and magic carpet, Cinderella's mice, and in Beauty and the Beast its the candle stick and Mrs. Pott. I think these characters make the movies so magical
Ariel and Belle are my favorite Disney princesses and with all of the thing that I love in their movies one of the thing that I get inspired is the music...the songs are perfect. The whole working on the movie is wonderful and deserve all of the worlds respect. The live action movie is also good and I don't see the problem with having it, we still have the beautiful masterpiece of the animated one.
I think beauty and the beast is probably my all time favourite animated movie. The opening alone is the most nostalgic thing for me and the soundtrack, story and characters all feel so original yet sticking to those raw core elements of fantasy that i love. Fuck it's so emotive. It stands alone so brilliantly.
Narrator: "Beauty and the beast also became the first animated feature to ever be nominated for a best picture academy award. An honor that even Walt Disney himself never received." Me: *heart breaks *
I always watched the VHS version without the extra scene, so when I watched the dvd with my roommates and Human Again started, I was like, "WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT?!!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE?!!!!!" My friends had no idea what I was talking about, since they have always seen the movie WITH the human again scene.
Just search BatB 'extra scene' or 'deleted scene'. If you still can't find it the title of the song it goes into is 'human again' but it's a song in the broadway show too so make sure you get the right footage from the movie not the stage! xx it's a good song. I like it! xx
KimPossible This just happened to me on Sunday. So I really wanted to watch this movie after watching the new great and fantastic live action movie, and when the Human Again started I was confused as hell, even though I had watched this movie like probably 15 years ago so many times, I just could remember it at all, then after the movie finished I found out it was a new scene.
What a lot of people don't know is that the original tale was inspired by a true story about a guy with condition that makes hair grow all over the body. He was a feral boy found by a king who was curious if a "beast" could be taught to be human. Like in the movie, he hit bumps and bruises in life, but eventually got married to a woman who learned to love him for who he was.
There’s a short documentary on him and his wife on Netflix, but I can’t remember what it’s called. I think it’s called “The Real Beauty and the Beast“.
Honesty from my point of view I feel that Beauty and the beast is the best Disney movie for obvious reasons; The moral of the story is so important to teach kids, it shows what true love is, and from pervious movies the princesses were looking for love and met a man who was handsome then married them.....while in beauty and the beast little beauty stayed with beast for months and became good friends then develop feelings for him (This is from the original fairytale but still kinda applies to the movie). This movie really influenced me when I was little to be nice to everyone (my mom reminded me to be like Belle because she new I loved Belle) :) Even after Frozen I'm proud to say Beauty and the Beast is still my favorite.
@@roneishasanders5800 That's The Reason Why the film got a Best Picture Nomination, because the powerful message is that Beauty & Love comes from within, and Love does heal, and to not Judge a Person or Beast by It's Cover
One of the few films I've always called a masterpiece and nobody disagrees. From first frame to last and first note and bar to the end Beauty and the Beast is simply flawless.
I just love classic disney. These movies mean SO MUCH to me and the songs and beautiful animation move me to tears. Some of my friends don't understand why I love disney so much, but it really is a huge part of my childhood. I grew up watching these movies and I feel so privileged to be able to have grown up with these wonderful magical characters!
Disney hasn't made a masterpiece like this in a long time. I'm a sucker for traditional animation. The Disney Renaissance was the last truly great era for traditional animation. R.I.P. Howard Ashman.
I love how this was stated: " Belle was beautiful, but unaware of it.....she is a character that is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well."
I don't know why, but watching this I found myself crying at the end. This movie is without a doubt one of the few movies that will withstand the test of time and will stay forever more in the hearts of millions now and forever.
What an Awesome, Unique, Perfect Story and My Forever Disney Favorite! Disney Animators should return back to the old fashioned way of hand-drawn animation movies! Thank you very much for this footage.
I couldn't agree more! You are so right They should come back to those old fashion animating creations cause they are much more realistic. I know It can be time consuming but those were worth to watch not that i don't like the new style but I just think the old way was so much cool!

There were something endearing about these 2D animated films; almost like comparing a CD to a vinyl. The vinyl has a more natural feel which just makes it seem magic. The same went for this great era of Disney animation. I hope one day someone sees sense and computers are used to aid rather than create the films.
With the right advertising they would. The majority of the people in this world have grown up or at least seen one Disney movie and would call it their 'childhood.' If they only knew the struggle of the more dedicated fans to get 2D animation back in Disney movies and the fact that every 2D film Disney does is now considered a monumental thing, they will come to watch the movie.

my fav disney movie movie ever
i love the beauty and the beast. classic
My favorite Disney story!
I love the song Human Again! I think it really completes and brings the movie together! I'm so glad they decided to add it to the rerelease :)
RIP Walt Disney
he's trully a gift from God
Happy 30th Anniversary, Beauty and the Beast!!! 🥀
