Tom Lester Interview 1978

Tom Lester in best known for playing "EB" on the 1960's TV Series Green Acres. He also appeared in two feature films, Gordy and Benji.
A very popular speaker and Christian Evangelist, he made an appearance on the TV Show " Hallelujah Square" in May of 1978 which was hosted by Richard Silanskas Sr. The program aired on the Jesus Is Lord TV Network and was seen in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. This very rare clip gives interesting insight into the fall of the "Country" TV shows including Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, Mayberry RFD and Green Acres.
Jesus is Lord TV started in 1976 as programming on Rollins Cable-vision, a local cable system/ provider in the very early days of Cable TV. By 1977 they were programming their own cable TV channel, (Channel 21) with original programming along with popular national shows such as the 700 Club and PTL Club. In the Summer of 1980, they turned operations of channel 21 over to the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) and continued producing original content through a new company called Sonlight Broadcasting.
