Elvis and Johnny had much in common. Both only child (no brother/sisters}.Both started careers in late teens. Started on one record label then signed to a bigger one. Had numerous well known singles, 45 EP's and albums. Appeared on TV promoting their hits. Starred in Films including a western about same time. Both did national service. Numerous concerts mainly in own country. Liked cars and motorcycles. Have large fan base and much more. Strangely Elvis is known world wide but really only performed in US. Johnny really only famous in French speaking countries but did concerts abroad. Both fantastic dynamic performers.
Johnny, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and too many to count wanted to be like Elvis. People who knew him loved him even more because of his good heart and personality.
Hallyday LOOOOVED riding his bikes(motorcycles), go shopping, driving hot rods in California or Florida without being preoccupied of having CRAZED fans(like me) chasing after him. "french Elvis"? Je ne comprends pas ce surnom ?, le style vocal de Johnny n'a rien à voir avec celui de Elvis. Ils n'avaient pas la même tessiture. Johnny était tenor alors que Elvis était plutôt baryton Martin. Avec le recul, j'ai l'impression que Johnny avait une voix beaucoup plus puissante que celle de Elvis. Johnny n'avait pas un management qui lui permette de devenir une star planetaire comme Elvis. Peut-être ne le voulait-il pas non plus ?
