Some of these creatures are really cool. Like in the Expanded Books I like that they're also using creatures from mythos that isn't just the ones we all know. For instance the Sarimanok in the MM III, the giant chicken, which is from the Philippines as my wife was explaining (her native country). I also like the homage to other games too, you mentioned the Centaur Minotaur, to me that screams the 'Centaur Bull' from the Chaos Dwarf faction in Warhammer. The cat-looking-hydra reminds me of the 'Questing Beast' from MTG, although not completely the same. I like it, you get stuff you just wouldn't from a WotC book, which is cool and nothing against WotC, they have an IP, but always nice to get weird stuff that gives memorable moments at the table... or screen.
Sounds like a good product, especially since it has new NPCs. Great review as always, favourite bits are always when you go off on pet peeves like non-head tokens or non-detailed maps.
Just for context, like Krampus, almost all of the weird-sounding named creatures are actually based on real-world mythology and folklore. If you wish to get more background info about them, just make an online search to check. These include the afanc, cacus, ammit, assaku, camazotz, kurson, ronove, glatisant (questing beast), grendol, karakoncolos, kumiho, latawiec, mahaha, tarasca, teju jagua, vrykolakas, and zburator.
