Today is Saint Patty’s Oh what am I to do, worship some Laddie, a so called saint who
Drove all the snakes out of my Ireland for a church on the take no saint should defend
Oh he never drank whiskey and refused to dance
Pray, what was he good for…Some money by chance?
All the men that he brought with their little black books
Were just pirates upon second glance
For Jesus would just never do what they did
To my ancestors who’ve worked hard to forgive them
All the raping and stealing, enslaving and such…
It’s no wonder we drink so much
Today is Saint Patty’s, we have to wear green and pretend we have not seen what we have seen
And fill up the bars and parades on the street and put little green shamrocks on everything
Eating corned beef and cabbage and Guinness on tap
And Marshmallow jello and other green crap
Irish eyes are not smiling, our butts aren’t for pinching
Pinch me and you’ll be getting slapped
For the pride that we have being Irish my friend has nothing to do with these fake traditions
We’ve survived cultural appropriation and such…
It’s no wonder we drink so much
So because of the raping and pillaging everyplace,
By now almost all have at least a wee trace
Of green blood that makes us all able to say…Happy Saint Patty’s Day
With a shit eating grin on our face, the redcoat American way
