As someone Yin main ranking back to mythic, Yin is a solution to so many problems, and simultaneously a failure at his own job.
The thing Yin is good at is giving your team an immediate advantage by removing an enemy from the equation. However, he is sometimes too squishy and vulnerable to do so if you realise that your opponent is actively paying attention to you. That means one of two things:
A. The game just started but they don't want to die at all, and know how not to.
B. Its mid-game, the enemy has assessed your team, and are now man-marking you because you are the only person capable of playing at your rank. They proceed to bully you all game, even ignoring your team, because they WILL win if you stay dead.
There isn't an in between.
Tips for everyone:
- If your Yin removes a tank or a fighter that they can't kill alone, don't keep running. The enemy tank is gone. Murder everything before Yin comes back.
- Yin players, you will succeed in only two play styles:
A. Conservative fighter on exp lane (equip vengeance or flicker and watch them cry)
B. An opportunistic bastard of an assassin (level fast af and watch them burn, my favourite)
- In terms of heroes, Melissa, Gusion, Saber (depends on how smart they are), Wanwan, Claude, and Joy are the things that will make you cry. Don't take them on unless you have to, they are distracted, or they are on cd. You WILL lose each and every one of those match-ups.
- In terms of items, the best choice is really just "Wind of Nature". If timed correctly, Yin is useless (along with every other physical damage dealer, but this is just annoying)
- While Layla has been more popular recently, the only other hero that I can think of as at more of a disadvantage is Vexana or Nana. All of them have anti-Yin counter measures, but you will more likely than not just make them cry.
- If you run into Yin, by no condition should you pick Bane. I swear he is the worst fighter to pick in this match-up. Definitely not as bad as the previously mentioned champs, but this is arguably a bigger liability to the team,
- Yin mains, I hope you know how to manipulate the direction of your stun rings. You can get some very funny trolling of side-steppers if you jerk in their direction immediately after you dash.
Lemme know if there is anything I missed, but these are the fun tidbits I can think of for Yin.
I wish I had a duo who could play Yin. As an Alu main, Yin’s Ult is useful because he can directly keep the other heroes in check, especially the other enemy’s hard carry or the setter tanks. With them gone, we can easily target the less fed.
Thamuz, Fredrinn, Terizla, Freya and Masha can beat you in exp lane.....and few can kill you in your own domain.
Thamuz even without his vengeance can regain full HP from 1/4th of his HP.....and kill you in your own domain.
Fredrinn I'm not even gonna try to explain.
Terizla passive completely counters yin to death and after Terizla build Bloodlust Axe.....he kills Yin in his own domain.
Buffed Freya destroys all exp laners in early game full 1v1...MAYBE only Thamuz (an actually good one who wont fall for kiting) with vengeance can take her on in early game (before level 6). She also destroys Yin if both are same level or if both have ults at least.
Masha is a wasted ult, you cant kill her and 10 seconds after your ult she will regain her whole HP bar back anyway. This could probably also apply to Hilda but I havent seen enough examples of that matchup yet.
@@bridledfury0412 I think your points are definitely valid, but let me clarify some things, based on my own experience.
Thamuz: Absolute menace
Fredrinn: Menace part 2 electric boogaloo
Terizla: I've never truly struggled with Terizla unless his team prolongs the fight. He is definitely not easy to deal with, though, and you should always be wary of his ult. His biggest weakness is your mobility, and Yin has that in some bursts.
Freya: In a one v one, yeah, Freya probably wins. However, this is why I mentioned vengeance (35% resistance to damage, 35% damage dealt reflected), and playing CONSERVATIVE on exp lane. You will probably get owned if you do stupid stuff, not to mention jungle ganks.
Masha: I've got nothing. You really just need to catch her lacking, or get the squad. She will kill you.

I killed Yin many times and died to him a lot in his domain using Les , Bal, Hilda , Gato and lylia . Never have I died in his domain using Valir and Beleric . I've only died when I was low playing Gato . He's a pain to deal with tho . I pay extra attention to all Yin cuz m almost always the roamer tank or a fighter in the team !

ive seen an alice jungle in my match recently, the player got 2 maniacs, never really knew it was that good, ill it someday
The Yin backdoor moment really tells us the true moment of focusing the base when the chance is there.
As Yin, the amount of times I use enemies going for lord and split push to destroy their nexus is ao high. Epic glory have really bad map awareness.

@@connordrake5713 Learn terms. "Nexus" refers to spawner of minions, which is located in front of hero respawn point. You WIN by destroying nexus.
Also Yin is a good split pusher, due to area attacks, fast movement speed and if needed, then an ability to 1 vs 1 the vast majority of heroes. If minions reach the final tower, as Yin getting level 15 and 5th item, it takes around 11s to destroy the tower and nexus. If minions only need to reach nexus, then around 5s. For a reference, it takes 5s to recall. + usually 1 or 2s to reach me from the hero respawn point. If you have no stun etc., then I can attack additional 1-2s. Of course, Yin is worse split pusher than Helcurt etc.
Yin Worst Enemy Are CC Immune Heroes,Flameshot,Purify,Sprint,Wind Of Nature,Winter Truncheon,Blink Skills Heroes etc...Yin Is Really Good But Easily Counterable Too..
He is a pain to supports like estes and Angela, since they can't do anything about their ally

I use this hero as Roamer, the function same as Saber Roam but More Safe because he bring enemy to his crib
I never pick exp since the day I started playing ml (I tried balmond and zilong but I'm terrible at them) then I exchange points to get Yin in JJK events and I enjoy using him and he's now my main in exp!

Try Xborg if you want to do exp lane.
His first skill is kinda like easy to use since you have safer distance from the enemy while clearing the minion wave.
His second skill will make minions closer to you while stunning the enemy if they approach you.
Use bane you just maintain distance and keep using first skill.
The best exp for beginner is dyrroth and lapu

As a solo q person, ranking up through legend first day, most of my match people use Yin n aldous, mostly hero that u rarely see using, so to ensure I can ranking up safely, I practically banned him every time I got chance after the time when my teammates die getting target by Yin. Before that, just have to work together to defeat him tho but after that, I got team that would not look at map n devoured by Yin ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ

As a yin main , when u r in the ult , don't be quick to use Ur combo - remember the enemy can't run away in Ur ult - so be patient and predict their movements !!

Welp here is my think since im yin main. Yin ia absolutely no rival in early. Yz? Lapu? Nope. Because yin rencent buff. First item pf course hunter strike. Both passive and attribute is perfect for yin. And yes yin is nobody in late game. Only special case he still monster in late game.

Here is some rookie mistake that even i do it.
1.ult useless tank.
Why i wrote useless tank is like tank hero who have pretty useless ult like hylos.(but if you ult tank hero with moment ult like khufra or atlas that is nice)
2.in lose condition and you are locking enemy. (fr why you do that)
And last one
3.Overcommitting.
Keep in mind yes yin skill is painfull even without ult but his ult is the playmaker. Maybe game turner?(if you manage to kill enemy mm or jungle.). Also keep in mind that yin ult range is very short like your thing. So proceed with skill 2+1 combo before ult enemy. Yin is early to mid game. Make sure not to play like 30 min above.
Counter hero for yin?
Just pick franco or edith both have great covering abbilty but i prefere edith.
Yin is a great hero. I often pich yin if enemy didnt have many counter. In mytic lobby of course.
Yin is suitable for all lane. Exp mid roam jungle gold.
But i prefere
Exp and jungle.
