I have NEVER heard a guitar where the sound of the strings themselves and the wood had so much intimacy and connection. That guitar just sings. The harmonics speak to just how perfect was the voicing of the top and back.
At first I kept turning my headphones up and up to catch the complexity and nuance of what was going down . . . then I realized, it wasn't volume I needed, I just didn't have enough 'ears' to take in everything on the first go. It's simply the best. Thanks! 👀👍
I could listen to you and Cooper Greenberg play for hours! Thanks for all the work that goes in to your great videos! Wow! I only need another 25,000 hours of practice....😄
@@el34glo59 It is a 00015M. Solid mahogany. It doesn't sound bad but nothing like this. Of course, each has its own sound and the guitar world would be boring if they all sounded the same.
Please don't estimate the absolute genius what make martin guitars who they are. This guitar is undoubtedly a work of art but my martin d28 shadows it. Others may copy but you cannot and will not beat the real thing.
Looks perfect. Sounds as if each fiber in the wood is hand selected ! If I were an abalone shell, I'd shine up for this dreadnought and hope the luthier would pick me ! And then I would want someone to play me all the time ! ! ! Dana has made the best .
A fine Luthier put everything into this. I’d first have to say the look of it is pure art and that is ok. My personal preferences are less ornate though. But the SOUND! Oh that is what you dream of. Nice, balanced, deep resonance. Crystal clear. The tone and harmonics are as stunning as the visuals. I hope the home this guitar finds itself in is one where it will be played and appreciated every day. Out of a stack of acoustic guitars you may come across one in a huge number that stands out
I love that big bass note thumb move at around 6 minutes there. Knew what you were going for, and had to make it work, right? 👍 It does work! Nice touch.
Ive been thinking about a Martin D-45 or something since I sold my D-41 Special. I wonder if this has a wider neck then the new D-45 for sale. I do like the little smaller neck for easier playing for me. This might not be bad. Ive never played one of these. I wonder how the resale is one them? I had never heard of them. I do know Martin and have owned a few.
Hi Matt Love the sound. Love the tone. Guitar looks beautiful of course. Your playing as always beautiful. Question: Album out yet ? Dibs on first copy!
I clicked the link and almost had a stroke. Not expecting to see $20k acoustic guitars. :) Though, I do get it more than luthiers who make violins/cellos asking for the same money or more. There's no visible difference (with cellos and violins) between ones made in Taiwan and from a luthier based out of Cremona, Italy. Or the USA. Internal parts are exactly the same. Spruce quality is likely very similar...they don't use red spruce oddly. And don't mix woods. Nor do any pearl inlay. No proprietary ribbing design unique to them..as we see in hi-end acoustic guitars.
Unfortunately, I think you missed the deliciousness that this guitar is. And the fact that it comes from homegrown Virginia. So, not sure what you’re trying to say but this is the best sounding guitar that money can buy at that price level. Now, I could go buy $100,000 guitar and it would sound better but I don’t think I need to. But I may need this one!
eddiesguitarsstl I had a pretty good week but hearing that tune was easily the highlight. I haven’t been able to focus on the rest of the video yet because I keep wanting to hear this song and get used to it, and hearing it with this guitar’s sound makes it special. Great work on the tune and thank you for sharing. This entire video is a complete pleasure to the ears
No Rocking and strumming with a Flat Pick ? This only demonstrated to the soft picky wicky players..Should rock on the guitar to see if it holds it together or breaks up under pressure..by now of course its too late.
Just to underline that this guitar (masterpiece) has bolt-on neck. Why does Martin continue to torture himself and his customers with this nonsense about glued necks? I now need to do a neck-reset on my Martin D28 (2014) and have to shell out a minimum of $1,000 and risk it being done well. Why? Traditions? Never again Martin.

It's hard to get the subtleties of the sound to come through UA-cam sometimes!
This is the most beautiful acoustic I've ever heard..
That was a fantastic guitar!
This is the best sounding guitar I've ever heard. I've heard lots of them too. Bourgeois really outdid themselves on this one!
It’s a Huss & Dalton!😳

Listen to Carl Miner on the North American Guitar channel
Absolutely stunning guitar in every sense.... including the price! 😀 You're playing really helped showcase this guitar's superior sound.
Amazing tone and just beautiful guitar
Absolutely the best sounding guitar I have ever heard. Makes my Martin sound like a 2X4 with strings.
Yeah well your Martin must be made of plywood. I'd still take an amazing Martin over this. But still great guitars. Martin sound is just my thing.

Shit I have never played a martin that sounds this good. And especially no taylor. Dana is an ear master!
These are built about 5 minutes from where I live. They sound absolutely amazing!
What is that ?
Absolutely phenomenal playing! What an instrument!
Can't believe what I just heard. Beautiful!
A formidable guitar and a formidable beard 😀 nicely done!
Unbelievable. The tones are very deep. Alot of reverb from that Brazilian rosewood. Very resonant. Don't get to hear to many with this type of tone.
This is absolutely incredible.
My dear Lord. What a work of art. I want to own a proper western work of art like this one day. And soon I will
This sounds exceptional, deep and resonant.
I'm Speechless
*one of?* The best sounding guitar I've ever heard.
J'en ai entendu des Grandes Guitares mais Celle-ci a un des plus beaux sons que j'ai entendu de ma vie!
Wow! I’m stupefied how that blend of “Holy grail woods” sounds awesome.
Extraordinary ! It might be the best I've ever heard.
I've just bought a Martin d 42,
Your making my new guitar look boring. What a beast you have
Love it
Watched this video again. Fantastic player. The guitar is sweet. Scared to see how much the guitar costs.
@@deanmcbride8747 I think I saw it around $20k
This is definitely one of those and it fits that the makers name is on it. Such sustain and it will only get better as it ages.
Superb sounding guitar
Holy smokes! I think those tuners look amazing! Probably as close to my dream guitar as it gets.
Matt, you have the best job on the planet as far as I’m concerned!!
God almighty, it’s so full😳 this is a gorgeous instrument… and your playing is so wonderful!
Sounds absolutely amazing
that is one stunningly beautiful instrument
Wow! Amazing tone and superb playing.
This is another level ...
Gotta pick my jaw up from the floor. Breathtaking tones and wonderful playing!
May I know what song is it which begins at 03:02 ? It's so beautiful

Great playing
This guitar makes me want to cry it sounds so beautiful, but if I sang while I played it people would throw bottles at for ruining the moment.
Hahaha
That guitar sounds amazing
A work of art. But you're guitar playing helps it a lot
WOW ! I Want One ! BEAUTIFUL !
Amazing sound.
Heavenly
Sounds just like a grand piano and the price that goes with. Great playing my friend.

Your playing is as beautiful as that guitar, Matt. Certainly can't afford the guitar, but so nice to relish your artistry!

FREEBIRD!! 🤣. Sounds awesome. Love to have heard Tony Rice play it. 🕊
Lovely guitar Matt...
Wow!! Stunning guitar!
Nice playing man
According to Dana Bourgeois, Adirondack is a misnomer, the actual species of wood is Red Spruce.
Is that jesus playing his dream guitar. Am I dreaming
How much does that beautiful guitar cost my friend. Wow
$25,101.00
Beautiful sound and playing. Do you ever review K. Yairi 90 or 91? Interested in what you think. Thanks RJ
HOLY GRAIL
Man this guitar sounds beautifully crisp and boomy and warm. No moody at all...
Holy grail

what microphone are you using here? Playing spectacular! Guitar is beautiful!

Did they get their top from Boucher? Up until recently they were supplying most everybody with torrefied adirondack tops.

martin invented this... that guitar sounds like crap compared to a proper martin d45.

Piano sustain!
beautiful
Wonder how Dana gets away with calling it a D-45 ... thought Chris had trademarked those model names a few years ago.
Phillip Probst Dana himself calls it "Style 45"
Hi Matt. Sounds AMAZING. What is the mic / speaker you are using to record this gem?
I think it is a Sennheiser e914 (I think he mentioned on an earlier thread by Matt). But I hope he confirms it :)
This or Tanglewood dreadnought?
Hey Bourgeois, can I trade you my Martin D-45 for your Bourgeois D-45?
Just saw that thumb thing, COOL.

Ugh, That's it, I'm giving up playing now! F#*#@# sweet playing and of course awesome guitar.
What is the name of the first song?
Das ist die geilste Gitarre die ich je gesehen und gehört habe!!!!!!! Aber 20000€??? Wahnsinn!!
Der Preis hat viel mit dem brasilianischen Rosenholz zu tun, sehr teuer in der Beschaffung!
Plus the D45 treatment + vine adds a lot to the cost.
Tabs???

If this was a D28 style without all the inlay it would still be 12-14 K, I think, just for the woods.
I think that dethrones the Martin counterpart... jussayin
