This whole Live concert is a classic! That's Bernie Worrell in the back on the Keys most notably from Parliament/Funkadelic. Also was in a band with Buckethead and Les Claypool.
It was me that requested it! Thanks! Talking Heads has a lot of great songs! You should also check out Once in a Lifetime, Burning Down the House, Psycho Killer. David Byrne, the lead singer, is unique, to say the least! ❤️
Definitely watch the whole concert from start to finish. It’s one of the greatest concert films ever - directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs).
These dudes came out generally from the late 70s early 80s are scean in new york, around the same time and location as Blondie, Keith Haring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Madonna, Beasties. It was a special time in NY below 14th st.
"I've changed my hairstyle so many times now, I don't know what I look like" ...Love those lyrics, this whole song has such fun, cool lyrics. Also Tina Weymouth does not get enough cred, she is a killer bassist!
You did what you were supposed to do....you rocked out to the music, and had fun with the song!...Well done......The Heads are amazing!...What a performance.....Do Burnin down the house!
I've known about Talking Heads since I was probably 12 and have always known they were good and knew a couple songs, but during Covid I found live videos of them and was ashamed it took me until now. Simply one of the best bands ever. Tina Weymouth is an animal.
Everyone is saying it....so I will too. This entire concert from start to finish is epic. Such a simple idea. Introduce a member of the band with each new song and introduce elements of the stage set at the same time. So the opening track is just David Byrne, his guitar and a boom box. Just one light bulb hanging from above and things like a step ladder and stuff still visible in the background. Then you get to this track with full band and stage blocks and everything. The energy is off the chain!
I highly suggest that you watch this entire live concert movie. It is knows as one of the best live concert films ever made. The song Once in a Lifetime from this film is mind blowing. Also, the extra band members on stage with The talking Heads here are members of Funkadelic, serious serious players. Spike Lee recently directed an HBO film for David Byrne called American Utopia. The Talking Heads were one of the biggest art bands that had big commercial crossover. David Byrne is a genius.
Classic concert! Check out "Girlfriend Is Better" from this Stop making sense concert. One of the best beats and grooves. The dance moves and suit are a treat also! Really a magical time in music history captured live.
Life during wartime - You run away, you hide, you fight, or you die. Surrender is death. I had two young kids when this album came out. As soon as it started, they would start running around the house or jumping on the trampoline. Maybe both. You gotta be fit for war! The entire concert movie (Stop Making Sense) was incredible.
I used to think Band’s concert film The Last Waltz was the best one of all time. Stop Making Sense beats it. If you get a chance you need to see the whole concert
That's from the Stop Making Sense concert movie. That movie was so epic it was directed by a major film director, Jonathan Demme, who won an Academy Award for direction of 'Silence of the Lambs'. Any song, and I do mean any song, that you watch from that movie is top shelf.
The bass player she had a group called Tom Tom Club - Genius of love. If you like her bass work you will like her bass work on her song & she is the sing too on the song.
The keyboardist is Bernie Worrell from George Clinton & P-Funk. (Flashlight, Atomic Dog, Knee Deep). He played & toured with everyone (Simple Minds, The B52s, The Pretenders) but was P-Funk main keyboardist on all their famous jams. 🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
One reason the footage looks so good is that it is on film, not VHS video. Plus, it was directed by Jonathan Demme, who won the Oscar for Silence Of The Lambs, so he knows how to craft a film. Gotta say that Tina Weymouth is my all-time favorite female rock artist. Period.
#FunFact David Bryne played Forrest Hills Arena in Queens last year before bringing the concert to Broadway for a 4 week Residency. Both shows were some of the last shows I saw before NYC closed down for Covid-19. 🤷🏿♀️ The city that never sleeps is still taking a nap. 🤔 My last show, 80s band China Crisis up at Daryl's House in Pawling, NY, I cancelled in Feb last year because I didn't want to work with a bunch of sick folks. 😲 They all ended up testing positive for Covid-19. I was the only one who didn't because I didn't work the show doing Merchandise. 😒🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
I didn't realize that you'd reviewed this one already. This song is actually about being an urban guerilla during a civil war. They just dress it up as a dance song. I see that you posted your reaction to "This Must Be the Place" today. These guys have a great catalogue. I'd encourage you to keep digging into U2 as well. And REM. And INXS. Those guys and The Talking Heads basically made the 80s, along with Michael Jackson. I ended up being a bigger U2 fan, but The Talking Heads are much better musicians - by far.
If you liked that, you should definitely check out the last song from that concert movie, "Crosseyed and Painless LIVE (Stop Making Sense)". ua-cam.com/video/gyDb4szpWmc/v-deo.html
I spent every Sunday from 7th grade until it closed at C.B.G.B.s & O.M.F.U.G. at CBGBs Hardcore Sunday Matinees. 🤔 Where I learned everything from how to do lights & sound to putting a drum kit together. I remember waiting for the Talking Heads Album 77' to come out in 1977. I also played IZIMBRA on CBs jukebox (😱 damn I'm old) and learned the song phonetically. 😒 Also never liked The Ramones. 🤷🏿♀️ Still don't! Wow! Great memories! ☺️🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny
You want a unique reaction that NOBODY I have seen has done? React to Hogscraper and their song Sons of Adam, a satanic bluegrass band lol you miiight have to react to this off air lol. Theres probably a reason why I've not seen it lol.
This entire concert is so epic!
Exactly what I was going to comment! 👍
Me too!
My favorite
This whole Live concert is a classic!
That's Bernie Worrell in the back on the Keys most notably from Parliament/Funkadelic. Also was in a band with Buckethead and Les Claypool.
This whole concert (Stop Making Sense) is amazing.
"Does anyone have any questions??"
This concert film is a cornerstone achievement. It is right up there with The Last Waltz by Scorsese and The Band.
It was me that requested it! Thanks!
Talking Heads has a lot of great songs! You should also check out Once in a Lifetime, Burning Down the House, Psycho Killer.
David Byrne, the lead singer, is unique, to say the least!
❤️
awesome!! this was really dope!
Genius is a word that is often thrown around lightly... but David Byrne is a proper genius. Great request!
Lol at least a few more than that lol He has quite the catalogue.
This is one of the most unique and best live performances ever. Hope you watch more from this like "Girlfriend Is Better"
Thanks man 👍👍
Definitely watch the whole concert from start to finish. It’s one of the greatest concert films ever - directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs).

Tina Weymouth is the most under-rated bassist ever. She makes the songs groove.
A masterpiece.
Love the end "Does anybody have any questions?" = Mic Drop.
I'm exhausted just from watching this.
Here is the difference between playing a song and performing a song. Absolute magic.
One of those wonderful things that we will never see live again. Luckily we have these videos, even if some people should be eternal!
Legendary ❤!!! What a Gig Groove Great Gargantuan
Great concert
You did what you were supposed to do....you rocked out to the music, and had fun with the song!...Well done......The Heads are amazing!...What a performance.....Do Burnin down the house!
Sounds great saw live when got. Into rock roll hall fame watch the movie of this concert
Yo that’s Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic) on the keyboards. Legend!
This whole concert is pretty 🤩 n credible.
One of the greatest concert films, hands down no joke. A perfect introduction to the Talking Heads
I've known about Talking Heads since I was probably 12 and have always known they were good and knew a couple songs, but during Covid I found live videos of them and was ashamed it took me until now. Simply one of the best bands ever. Tina Weymouth is an animal.
Omg it makes me so happy seeing you react to this! David Byrne is an actual genius! ❤️

Agree. And American Utopia showcased international talent and so much pared down-but energetic creativity and was so much fun. Well done, my Friend. 🤪
Classic concert! Check out "Girlfriend Is Better" from this Stop making sense concert. One of the best beats and grooves. The dance moves and suit are a treat also! Really a magical time in music history captured live.
And you might say to yourself, why the big suit? And you might say to yourself, is there a mirror in this store?

my fave Talking Heads song!
I used to think Band’s concert film The Last Waltz was the best one of all time. Stop Making Sense beats it. If you get a chance you need to see the whole concert
Absolutly love the Talking Heads.
GOLD!!!!!
Great band great album more please
Another great song! Your best day!

David Byrne is a prime example that just because you're on the spectrum, it doesn't mean you can't be a total badass 💯
The bass player she had a group called Tom Tom Club - Genius of love. If you like her bass work you will like her bass work on her song & she is the sing too on the song.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug. And that's a hell of a concert.

These guys are epic. Rabbit hole like the beasties... so good and so epic

Love me some Talking Heads..so unique
One of the greatest concert films made.
The words are awesome…. Scary….. life during wartime …..

Hell yes, Making Flippy Floppy from this show is an absolute must hear!
Awesome! Ah you are doing all my favorites. totally different than beasties boys but just as good at what they do! ❤️
Check out David Byrne's concert film American Utopia directed by Spike Lee.
My dude. Brian from the one beastie boys song you didn’t like. This is my top 3 or so favorite song, period.
I didn't realize that you'd reviewed this one already. This song is actually about being an urban guerilla during a civil war. They just dress it up as a dance song. Music should take you over
Cocaine is a helluva drug...
David Byrne was *almost certainly* coked out of his damn mind during this concert.
If you liked that, you should definitely check out the last song from that concert movie, "Crosseyed and Painless LIVE (Stop Making Sense)".

Hi Teez.🇦🇺
How about some old school The Police: So Lonely and Can't Stand Losing You.
Check Psycho Killer from Talking Heads.
Isn’t David Byrne white chocolate?!
Damn, I wish that video wasn't sped up. Compare with other vids where the key is lower 😕
React to Girlfriend Is Better from the same concert.
Kids these days wouldn't survive a concert performed by their favorite bands on this much cocaine
whole lotta adderall going on there
You want a unique reaction that NOBODY I have seen has done?
