For anyone new to mecha, the BARI name from this mecha comes from Masami Obari. A legendary mecha animator which influence in the industry cannot be understated. He invented Sunrise Sword Pose, BARI style proportion, THE mecha cliche, and among many others. Look up Masami Obari Mecha.
If I recall correctly, he technically didn't invent the sword pose (I can't recall the name of the animator he mentioned when asked about it) but I am pretty sure he animated it, and of course is largely responsible for popularizing it.

Polyoxymethylene (POM) is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability.
POM plastic is usually being used on frame part of mecha kit (totally not gunpla), it's more solid than ABS plastic, but if you want to paint on it, you will need something else than the usually used laquer mr hobby color. so it's good for straight build without painting
If you actually bought this... then you should also buy the Moderoid Mega Popuko + Biggus McHugeGuy Combination Parts Set to become Great Bari Bari Team Epic!, that will be out in June. Since there's also the full package of this at the same release date in June.
I recently built a Moderiod - Shin Getter 1 and I'm very impressed by its details and quality. Some issue with joints that a bit loose and the heavy weighted body that is not compatible with some action base, which can be fixed easily; so all in all, gorgeous and fun to build/panel-line.

Bandai does have more than Gundam in their plamo repertoire you know. Their Shokugan Modeling Project (SMP) line is one dedicated mostly to Super Robots, and it covers old school super robot anime and Super Sentai. That's before their other lines like Figure-rise Standard which include Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Dragon Ball, etc.

But when you look at what GoodSmile announced this year and last year for Moderoid its crazy. I've built the Mazinkaiser SKL and Dann Of Thursday kits from Moderoid, besides definitely needing to glue parts together and having to paint them, the details and general is quite alright. With glue, the end product can be pretty dang solid.
It's basically a slightly cuter Dangaioh and that's it lol. But I'm genuinely curious which aspects of the bot made you think there are bits of GaoGaiGar in there.

I always see the Moderoid B-Riot kit and I really want to get it but there are no reviews I can find of it in English. This review kind of makes me want to pull the trigger on it. If you haven't seen it you should look it up
POM, or the long name polyoxymethelene, is a low friction plastic that’s also durable. It’ll take some time longer to wear down than polystyrene. I’ve seen it used with the MG Seed Frame diecast upgrade sets as sort of polycaps for the diecast parts. And in beyblade for stamina types to increase their endurance because of its low friction properties.

I've never built a Moderoid but I have a few sitting in my backlog (dynazenon and a pair of Patlabor kits). Was worried about how the construction and color accuracy would be and I'm glad to hear it seems pretty good. Guess I'll need to pick up a glass file for the nubs on the Griffon.
Just a heads up, the Ingrams are quite a bit fragile, particularly the popping shoulder mechanism. Cover all pegs and handle everything with care after top coating and/or painting. Great looking kit though, after panel lining, using the included decals and a light satin coat it's one of the cooler little guys in my shelf.

I'll go out on a limb and say that it LOOKs like all the humanoid labors have the same joint engineering, based on reviews and whatnot, but I'm definitely not sure. When I say fragile I don't mean that they'll disintegrate at the slightest touch or anything. I was just surprised by how easily a whole chunk of shoulder-and-peg broke when reassembling after a top coating. It was 100% my fault for not stopping when I felt the resistance and sanding off some bits, but I tried forcing it in the first place because my other kits wouldn't buckle under the same amount of pressure - the plastic itself feels a bit airier (?), flimsier.
@@AssaultFlamingo oh okay thanks for the warning I'll be careful with them when top coating. Still, should be something a hand drill, paperclip and a bit of glue could fix. I'm glad to hear they're not overly tight or fragile out of box though. I ran into a similar issue with the wrists of the MG Alex 2.0 but that happened without any top coat
The G Gundam MGs would come with a large paintable pilot figure and they were actually pretty well detailed too with lots of indents for where you would stop painting

Oh, going for the Moderoids now I see. I wonder if you'll be taking a look at other Moderoid kits like the Dynazenon, Full Powered Gridman, Gravion, etc. Yeah, I'm mostly pointing to the ones with the combination/transformation i.e. Gattai gimmicks, because those would make for some interesting builds. Honestly in terms of color separation, Moderoids can be hit or miss: some of their more recent kits have nice color separation, while others are absolute sticker hell (the Dynazenon kit for instance), and some don't even have stickers at all despite the missing colors. The one thing Moderoids don't miss out on though are gimmicks, especially ones for proportion fixing. Also wondering if you'll also be checking out the Shokugan Modeling Project (SMP) kits by Bandai. Some of their more recent offerings like the Aquarion Set are quite impressive,. What's most impressive though are the SMP R-1 + R-Gun, and the upcoming SMP R-2 Powered + R-3 Powered set, which are two sets of 4 model kits which you can combine into the absolutely gargantuan SRX (if you think the swords on the Super Pipimi are large, the SZO Sword on the SMP SRX could probably be used as a kitchen knife).
Just finished Valimar last week. As a Trails fan it is nice to have one but you'd definitely wanna paint the gold rims for the mech. The gold rims are all unpainted and some teal parts are also unpainted as well. Other than that and some loose joints on the hands I think Valimar is a pretty decent kit if you compare it to 1/100 kits.

I've noticed so many modelers cutting off all the pieces from the sprue and then assembling the model. Don't the pieces get mixed up and hard to keep track? I just cut the pieces as needed in the instructions. Am I doing this wrong?

I've been meaning to build some of these, as I have the Blodia and Dynazenon buried in the backlog, and glad to see they hold up well.
