Look i'm from philadelphia. And I remember when Kensington avenue used to be the spot for shopping When I was a kid. I don't care about the streets and how it looks, I care more about the people. What are we gonna do to help these people on the street?I see a woman laying on the ground like she's dead.We need to do something about that. It is so bad to see people laying on the ground drugged up. I mean this lady is laying there like she's dead. And I don't see a police officer trying to help her.We need to help these people clean these streets and help. These people get Rid of the. drugs that down there And the dealers that's given it to them we need to stop it. We are living in some times people and this is what's happening right now. I am so sad to see. These people out here on the streets like that.I don't give a d*** about the area.I care about the people. 💯 These are some people's Kids, someone's daughter and someone's grandmother. We have to clean these people up and clean these streets. I'll see some areas of clean but But when you go in between streets you see them right there. So we have to do more people. We have to pray and hope that the mayor gets this problem solved. Because the Mayor that was here before , did not give a damn about these people. 💯

I agree....in this country at least 2 people out of ten would stop to ask how they can help someone struggling so. Yet in affluent America it seems very very few people really care. What good is affluence if your hearts are shut down and you fear each other?

I understand your frustration but unfortunately nothing will change. Drug use is a social issue that has plagued society for millennia. It’s exactly the same as tobacco and alcohol, and gambling!
These a the top 4 social issues that have withstood the sands of time because there is no solution!
What perpetuates them is the fact they are driven people. As we all know, as a species, if we want something, regardless of whether it’s good or bad for us, we get it! Even if we need it or not! It’s a personality trait that makes us human, it’s in our DNA!
Another trait that makes us human is we really don’t like being told what to do, especially in our lives!
We love alcohol, we love tobacco, we love gambling and we love drugs!
The only way to stop people from indulging in these addictive is to take away people’s rights and freedoms which will never happen!

Yeah, it’s to be expected. Even drug addicts don’t like change….
I think a few will continue wondering back and forth along the Kensington Avenue for some time yet! What Mayor Parker is trying to do is extremely difficult. In one hand she’s trying to get the city’s drug issue sorted, which will take months if not years to resolve, on the other hand she has a community that has been putting up with this shit for decades, and wants it fixed now!!!
It’s an impossible situation and should never had been allowed to deteriorate into this condition in the first place!!!

I am Japanese and cannot speak English at all. In Japan, I have no experience to see homeless people at all in daily life。 In 2023、Japanese population was 124,000,000 and the number of homeless people was 3,065 from Hokkido to Okinawa(Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare) After seeing this UA-cam, I became tearful and could not sleep at night. In this UA-cam, I imagine every homeless person’s character is good and gentle. I want to invite one of them to my small Japanese house. People are sitting on the road and some of them sleep deeply even during the daytime after getting many drugs. As one of the Japanese, I wonder why many American people became like this homeless. The reason is very simple. Everybody living in this world always fights many different kinds of problems. At that time, if there were some good social systems to support suffering people, people would not depend on drugs. I am very ugly in the US
Politicians especially Mr.Biden and Mr.Trump .The two gentlemen can be seen on CNN
many times, but, always talk about the US being great again and supporting Israel's killing Palestinian babies, children, and women 32,070 and never talk about the miserable lovely homeless people in Kensington at all.
The number of people killed by guns in the USA in 2022 is 44,357(by Gun Violence Archive).
The number of people killed by guns in Japan in 2022 is 4(Metropolitan Police Department)

No one can make the people we see still out on the streets stop wanting a better life for them self .They have to want it for themselves. The streets are for all ,not just people who want to do drugs every day.

    • @ronferguson9695
      @ronferguson9695 11 днів тому +1

I share your frustration but the issue lies with the people.
How do you stop doing dumb shit! We all know there health effects and there impact on society! Addiction has plagued society for millennia and nothing will can change that.
The use of tobacco, alcohol, drugs and gambling are the top 4 social issues that society has never been able to control. This is because humans are the root cause of the problem. As a species, if we want something we must have it! Regardless of whether we need it, whether it’s good or bad for us, whether it’s legal or not, the behaviour is imprinted in our DNA and its part of the human condition!
If we didn’t have drugs, we’d be licking toads and growing mushrooms in our backyard!

It wasn't always like this, and this reality is hitting many major cities now.
This is 2 miles from the Liberty Bell, historical landmark, and a lot of the buildings in Kensington are amazing old architecture.
This area has been destroyed by drugs, homelessness and crime. Just sad.

I agree with you! Philadelphia is still has a lot to offer! Unfortunately these videos focus on just a few streets but the whole city is painted in the same light! As you said every city in America has the same couple of streets like Kensington Avenue! If anyone was to disagree, their heads must be buried in the sand, or their comments are driven by political bias!
Drug use has plagued society for millennia and nothing will change that. In their own way, most countries around the world are struggling with the increasing use of drugs in their communities, it’s not just in America!
It is a very sad time, but what concerns me more, is what will things be like in 10 or 20 years time!
