That was never their strong suit and the graphics weren’t that great in the old games. Though for the time period it was solid but I don’t care too much about graphics it’s more about the gameplay. TDU was mostly just a driver game it is a car enthusiast millionaire simulator. I can’t truly compare both games fully right now because it would be unfair. We’re comparing a old demo build of the game to a finished games so when it fully comes out I will have a true assessment of the game this is a old demo that’s literally about to stop today Friday is the last day you can access it PC only.

No game is offline nowadays I don’t know why you expected a small developer to do it when every big budget triple A developer is doing the exact opposite. Then everyone buys them every year Need For Speed, Forza Horizon, Gran Turismo and The Crew all require internet connection and I don’t see no one begging those companies to make their games completely offline. This is the only modern game I’ve seen that’s not one of the big triple A racing games get so many comments about it not being offline when I know all of you have at least one of the games Gran Turismo 7, Forza Horizon 5, The Crew Motorfest or Need For Speed Unbound or Heat all need internet connection but you bought one of those games and will buy the next ones. Even game’s outside of the car racing genre require internet look at every FPS shooter they all require internet connection look at sports games they need internet connection.

Even GT7 doesn't require a connection although most of the content is locked behind it. The overwhelming majority of games do not require an online connection, you've just fallen for marketing BS.
Ill be honest, it's not looking to good for me. The graphics look like mobile game graphics and the handling looks the same. The biggest selling point for this game imo was that not only could you drive and race cars but you could also have a "life" outside of the cars. There's already several open world festival type games with better graphics and handling and Forza Horizon pretty much is the go to for that. Im also not a huge fan of the setting as cities aren't particularly interesting.
I remember the livery editor in TDU2. I took a Volkswagen Touareg and pasted "GO FARTHER" on the sides. And I positioned it so that everything between the space and the "H" was on the front doors.
I give it a try, man this is a good game for cruise, big map and cities, I also think the handling feels pretty good and kinda fuse between arcade and semi-realistic, they (KT Racing) just need to optimize it and fix some bug For they first open world driving games, it's pretty good
later in the Game you have to chose which gang your joining: the street gang or the rich gang. Imo after that joining there will be new cars coming. Like if you join the rich gang, the Bugatti and Koenigsess will be in the luxus Dealership
Better map, better simcade handling, physical dealerships, a high rise condo and physical garage, nightclubs and race clubs, better car sounds etc it’s a lot of things this game dies better than those games you’re not even trying to look if you would compare the old games this would be even worse to compare Old TDU: -Terrible handling and physics -Story was never good -Map wasn’t realistic just big and true to the size of the real places on a 1:1 scale but if you compare to real life it just wasn’t accurate it looked similar but the roads and locations were far from accurate -The maps actually road structures and terrain were terrible roads were not smooth enough to drive on Mind you I like all these games but I’m not about to sit here and act like the old TDU games were perfect because they simply were not they had things they made it a niche that was it but it’s a reason the game died and couldn’t save Atari because the games weren’t that good far from it they needed more development. TDUSC demo build already has a more accurate and true to life map than any game I the TDU series is not even close. First of all i wanna say i've been following development of this game ever since it was published and ive been reading every newsletter the day it came out. I am also by no means a forza or the crew player. Im not just commenting blindly here from a little amount of gameplay. First of all i do like the map although it lacks a lot of things such as landmarks and interactivity. It offers little to no interaction like the old tdu maps. There is nowhere to go as everything is made into one location being the hotel. Nobody wanted the high rise condo, its a way to lazily give people a "house" yet there is absolutely nothing to do in there. TDU 2 not only had a massive amount of houses, garages but you could also customize the houses and put in your own pictures. Remember this was a 10+ year old game from an almost bankrupt developer yet they still managed to make 2x much bigger maps and houses+garages in LESS time than TDU SC was in development. I can tell you these arent the best simcade physics, they are worse than forza horizon and feel floaty. The "nightclub" you refer to is literally just an empty clubhouse and offer nothing except looking cool. Sounds are generally good but weirdly over-done. Stock cars sound like race cars with extremely loud turbos and flames coming out the exhaust. Bro stop I’ve been playing GTA for years and it doesn’t look anywhere near as good as good as this game this his I know people are just hating on this demo your comment is just comedic because I play GTA almost everyday and I don’t play it for the graphics they look horrible nowadays but it’s other things to do besides stare at graphics all day that’s why I play it and as car enthusiasts on GTA me and others have been wanting a games similar but strictly about cars so you don’t get blowed or shot up in free roam all my GTA car friends are wanting to get this game if you are a GTA car enthusiasts in 2024 from 2013 you don’t care about graphics you care about gameplay and the features the game has with the cars

@@redhunnid5142 My brother in Christ if you play GTA almost everyday as you say and you don't notice that this game has almost no global shadows (I'd say none at all in the interior), something is wrong :D Like I don't want to be mean to you, but if you don't see that the only time there are somewhat dynamic shadows (very poor ones at that) is in direct sunlight, like at 23:40, something is wrong with your eyes bro lmao. Do you seriously not see that most of the time, there are either no shadows or just a darker circle under the cars? The reflections are alright, but the shadows might as well be missing, which isn't the case in GTA :D I guess it depends on where you play GTA/on what specs, but the game (with no mods/ENB/...) can still look very respectable today and it doesn't even have to be max settings. The new TDU, from max settings footage I've looked up, not quite lol
@@viktorpenc9035 I assuming you're talking about The Crew: Motorfest? The game is decent, but yes it's not polished. But the truth is Ubisoft never polish their games, never had. I don't get my hopes up whenever any new games gets announced or shown, most (if not all) games released or releasing during 2020's decade are very unpolished. Another problem with modern games, they usually require internet connection and/or contain in-game purchases with real currency. Remember how most games were during the early-mid 2000's? No internet connection and no in-game purchases with real currency. Most games back them were polished, back then were developer cared about their games. That's one of the reasons why 2000's games were and are still better than 2020's games, another reason is, well nostalgia I guess?
I actually think it looks quite good! The upper graphics definitely help. Love the highway too! The exhaust is quite unique as it can change depending on engine input. Handling is strange but not too weird. Anticipated. Disappointed by the online only aspect tho.
If you play GTA online, NFS Unbound/Heat, The Crew Motorfest, Gran Turismo or Forza Horizon I do t know why you’re disappointed about it being online when every last one of those games requires a internet connection if you have anyone of those games in your ownership you shouldn’t be disappointed because you support big budget triple A game companies that do it and when a small developer follows the industry standard you are disappointed it doesn’t make sense if you don’t have a internet connection based game it would be impossible to regulate racing competitions and keep the game alive or updates on the game with content would be impossible unless you want to pay for paid DLC which a lot of people don’t pay for being online is why GTA online is the highest selling game of all time you want this game to die or keep living I do agree it should have a offline patch version of the game though
Why is the game so bare bones?! It looks like a mobile game, and I'm not just talking about the graphics. The driving, the city, the racing, the physics, the crashes, it all looks like those mobile sandbox racers, and NOT in a good way.
I was lucky to play it safe to say its not worth it. Driving doesn't feel good at all. No housing like in the previous games. Its a car game that doesn't have a good physics in all departments It feels undercooked by at least 2 years
The lack of customization kills the game for me. I know it's not illegal street racing game, but come on, you cannot even add a spoiler? Even GT7 allows us to do more.
Although I am happy to see a return to this iconic game series and I don't want to sound complaining, I feel like this game is very far away from what it should look and be like, considering it's being released in late 2024. The shadows are very weird at times, the car is often not planted and is floating, not well optimized at all. My 4070 and 16 GB RAM are struggling to keep even 60fps and low-mid graphics, etc, etc... I do hope that a lot of this will be smoothened out upon the official release, but as of right now on this demo version... not great.
I think I may be having some buyers remorse. I don't know, it just seems a bit cartoony and there's no crash damage. That's really troublesome. No people in the world. I hope that when I get it and actually get some races in, and am able to roam around randomly in the world with friends, it will be more fun than what I'm seeing so far. Otherwise...oh well. Just some money wasted 🤷
The lighting is awful, the models look cheap, and the physics look… questionable. Feels bad to say the TDU feels like the better option considering it has the excuse of being a PS2 era game
Trying to stay optimistic about this because I absolutely loved TDU2, but this is not looking good. Not nearly enough people or traffic in the city, graphics are mid, still a lot of uncertainty around if this will deliver on 'life outside of cars' aspect that made the previous TDU games unique. A lot needs to change before this game can attract a large enough audience to make this series successful again. Thanks for the vid, will be watching the development of this game closely through your channel.

As a tdu fan, this game doesn't look quite much better than tdu2. And that was 13 years and 2 gens of consoles ago. They should do much better. Anyway, its time to support the saga
Bare ass game. No pedestrians, no people at all. Minimal boring traffic. Looks great but as boring as watching grass grow. Those that only care about graphics will be pleased. It's like an 80's arcade racer with better graphics only. Drive down the road, dodge a car in your lane, turn a corner. The excitement is amazing. 😂

This game gives me motorfest vibes and personally its hard to play these games after playing gt7 im more sim but the customizations are key to car games mess that up and its a total loss to me!!!!
I don’t think Test Drive Unlimited community will welcome bodykits TDU is not a ricer type of game that’s for NFS and The Crew. The most aftermarket customization I can see them adding is liftkits, air suspension(you can already see slammed Ford Raptors in game so it’s likely), limited rim size increases and decreases. Then tire size increases and decreases and tasteful spoilers to specific cars like ducktail spoilers and mid level spoilers. I only see refillable Nos if you have to purchase it at a location in game. If you enter a Nos race allowed race you can equip it and it would work like Gran Turismo 7 Nos more realistic. That is the most customization I think the TDU community will allow to this game.

By the time this game came out. Other games already have many more gameplay features that make this game unique. Now it looks like a mix of Forza gameplay and elements with The Crew 2 physic. Everything looks so generic

Plus the handling , it ain't great by any means , like the car feels just so sticked to the ground, the sounds , kinda fine tbh, crash physics , ok i'm not expecting something like BeamNG but rather something decent, all we can hope is that in these 3 months they have until release this game improves from the community's feedback... Otherwise this will be an flop 💀

Bro stop I’ve been playing GTA for years and it doesn’t look anywhere near as good as good as this game this his I know people are just hating on this demo your comment is just comedic because I play GTA almost everyday and I don’t play it for the graphics they look horrible nowadays but it’s other things to do besides stare at graphics all day that’s why I play it and as car enthusiasts on GTA me and others have been wanting a games similar but strictly about cars so you don’t get blowed or shot up in free roam all my GTA car friends are wanting to get this game if you are a GTA car enthusiasts in 2024 from 2013 you don’t care about graphics you care about gameplay and the features the game has with the cars

Like I don't want to be mean to you, but if you don't see that the only time there are somewhat dynamic shadows (very poor ones at that) is in direct sunlight, like at 23:40, something is wrong with your eyes bro lmao. Do you seriously not see that most of the time, there are either no shadows or just a darker circle under the cars? The reflections are alright, but the shadows might as well be missing, which isn't the case in GTA :D
I guess it depends on where you play GTA/on what specs, but the game (with no mods/ENB/...) can still look very respectable today and it doesn't even have to be max settings. The new TDU, from max settings footage I've looked up, not quite lol
@@viktorpenc9035 I assuming you're talking about The Crew: Motorfest? The game is decent, but yes it's not polished. But the truth is Ubisoft never polish their games, never had.
I don't get my hopes up whenever any new games gets announced or shown, most (if not all) games released or releasing during 2020's decade are very unpolished. Another problem with modern games, they usually require internet connection and/or contain in-game purchases with real currency.
Remember how most games were during the early-mid 2000's? No internet connection and no in-game purchases with real currency. Most games back them were polished, back then were developer cared about their games. That's one of the reasons why 2000's games were and are still better than 2020's games, another reason is, well nostalgia I guess?
I actually think it looks quite good! The upper graphics definitely help. Love the highway too! The exhaust is quite unique as it can change depending on engine input. Handling is strange but not too weird. Anticipated. Disappointed by the online only aspect tho.
If you play GTA online, NFS Unbound/Heat, The Crew Motorfest, Gran Turismo or Forza Horizon I do t know why you’re disappointed about it being online when every last one of those games requires a internet connection if you have anyone of those games in your ownership you shouldn’t be disappointed because you support big budget triple A game companies that do it and when a small developer follows the industry standard you are disappointed it doesn’t make sense if you don’t have a internet connection based game it would be impossible to regulate racing competitions and keep the game alive or updates on the game with content would be impossible unless you want to pay for paid DLC which a lot of people don’t pay for being online is why GTA online is the highest selling game of all time you want this game to die or keep living I do agree it should have a offline patch version of the game though
Why is the game so bare bones?!
It looks like a mobile game, and I'm not just talking about the graphics. The driving, the city, the racing, the physics, the crashes, it all looks like those mobile sandbox racers, and NOT in a good way.
I was lucky to play it safe to say its not worth it. Driving doesn't feel good at all. No housing like in the previous games.

The lack of customization kills the game for me. I know it's not illegal street racing game, but come on, you cannot even add a spoiler? Even GT7 allows us to do more.
Although I am happy to see a return to this iconic game series and I don't want to sound complaining, I feel like this game is very far away from what it should look and be like, considering it's being released in late 2024. The shadows are very weird at times, the car is often not planted and is floating, not well optimized at all. My 4070 and 16 GB RAM are struggling to keep even 60fps and low-mid graphics, etc, etc... I do hope that a lot of this will be smoothened out upon the official release, but as of right now on this demo version... not great.

I think I may be having some buyers remorse. I don't know, it just seems a bit cartoony and there's no crash damage. That's really troublesome. No people in the world.
I hope that when I get it and actually get some races in, and am able to roam around randomly in the world with friends, it will be more fun than what I'm seeing so far. Otherwise...oh well. Just some money wasted 🤷
The lighting is awful, the models look cheap, and the physics look… questionable. Feels bad to say the TDU feels like the better option considering it has the excuse of being a PS2 era game

Trying to stay optimistic about this because I absolutely loved TDU2, but this is not looking good. Not nearly enough people or traffic in the city, graphics are mid, still a lot of uncertainty around if this will deliver on 'life outside of cars' aspect that made the previous TDU games unique. A lot needs to change before this game can attract a large enough audience to make this series successful again. As a tdu fan, this game doesn't look quite much better than tdu2. And that was 13 years and 2 gens of consoles ago. They should do much better. Anyway, its time to support the saga

Bare ass game. No pedestrians, no people at all. Minimal boring traffic. Looks great but as boring as watching grass grow. Those that only care about graphics will be pleased. It's like an 80's arcade racer with better graphics only. Drive down the road, dodge a car in your lane, turn a corner. The excitement is amazing. 😂
The game lacks AO, looks terrible no houses, no custom gauges from previous tdu games,always online, dated graphics, dated character models and dated car models who tf wants a q7 from 2005?

the v12 q7 is from 2008 but i believe its mainly a throwback to tdu 2. I too would have preferred a RSQ8 or something tbh.
This game gives me motorfest vibes and personally its hard to play these games after playing gt7 im more sim but the customizations are key to car games mess that up and its a total loss to me!!!!

I don’t think Test Drive Unlimited community will welcome bodykits TDU is not a ricer type of game that’s for NFS and The Crew. The most aftermarket customization I can see them adding is liftkits, air suspension(you can already see slammed Ford Raptors in game so it’s likely), limited rim size increases and decreases.
Then tire size increases and decreases and tasteful spoilers to specific cars like ducktail spoilers and mid level spoilers. I only see refillable Nos if you have to purchase it at a location in game. If you enter a Nos race allowed race you can equip it and it would work like Gran Turismo 7 Nos more realistic. That is the most customization I think the TDU community will allow to this game.

By the time this game came out. Other games already have many more gameplay features that make this game unique. Now it looks like a mix of Forza gameplay and elements with The Crew 2 physic. Everything looks so generic

This game needs more polishing, dude , alright , graphics shouldn't be everything but this is an PS5 game!? Plus the handling , it ain't great by any means , like the car feels just so sticked to the ground, the sounds , kinda fine tbh, crash physics , ok i'm not expecting something like BeamNG but rather something decent, all we can hope is that in these 3 months they have until release this game improves from the community's feedback... Otherwise this will be an flop 💀
