Singer 221 featherweight vs Big Sister Singer 301

Just happen to have both machines right now so thought I would compare a few things, serviced them both, I think they are both good machines the 301 is heavier by 5 pounds. I think the 221 looks nicer but if I had the black 301 it may be a tie. Accessory feet and attachments for these are different the 301 is a slate needle.

Nice to see these side by side and see the size difference. I own a 301, 401, and 403 in cabinets. Great machines!

I have the 201-2 and 301A for practical reasons. The 221 Featherweight is super duper cute, but I need the space, visibility and room to work. I would buy the little 221 as an ornamental machine and sew small things on it once in a while. It is cute for sure and I hear it sews really nice.

I thought the 201 was its big sister ! As far as im concerned , the hole family can come stay with me lol , i have 12 singer machines ranging from 1895 to 1957 and love them all ...
