As the son of a mom who was born in Germany in 1941, I find this series absolutely fascinating. My mom came to America in 1960 and shared stories of post WW2 Germany. I have been there twice and met my great grandfather who served with the German army, and too see the war from the German side, gives me a new perspective. Thank you and I will look forward to the next episode. Very well done.

Absolutely love this little mini series showing ordinary Germans fighting for each other, trying to survive the war for home whatever it would look like in the end. The disillusionment in the troops is perfectly played.

Yep, I'm always late to the party, and what I have to say has probably been said 100 times before. This series is surpasses ANYTHING that the big producers are doing these days. Great acting, great character building, well filmed, authentic and addictive. You deserve someone to throw some big bucks at you to come up with more.

Respect for Polish language pronunciation and greetings from 🇵🇱 As a native I have understood every single word without any subtitles which is an achievement, because trying to speak Polish is even more difficult than trying to speak Chinese. Polish-German history is as tough as Polish-Russian oraz German-Russian ones, so such series are sincerely needed to show these crazy times.

Hollywood ist letzenendes auch nur ein gesteuerter Kapitalskonzern. Besonders in Bezug zu WWII Sollte man solche Streifen kritisch bewerten.

Wer wird Feldmann noch vermissen? Sein Charakter schien so widersprüchlich, und doch bewahrte er seine Würde und blieb menschlich. Ich denke, es wäre ein interessantes Video darüber, wie die Schauspieler ihre Charaktere auf ihrem Weg gefunden und entwickelt haben. Und was sie denken, hat sich am meisten an ihnen verändert.

Hallo. Wieder sehr gute Leistung!Eine Anmerkungen zur ersten Szene. Warum hat der Soldat seinen Kameraden bei der Überprüfung der Partisanin nicht gesichert?Dadurch hätte dieser wahrscheinlich überlebt. Dieses Vorgehen war damals schon Standard. Frage an das PLW-Team.War das von euch so beabsichtigt?
@@Donauwalzer830 denke die Szene ist sehr real,da Sie die Nachlässigkeit die sich im Soldaten/Patrouillen - Alltag einschleichen kann darstellt.
Wenn ich mich recht erinnere war das vor 3 oder 4 Jahren als ich das erste mal euren Kanal entdeckt habe. Ich war absolut umgehauen vom Detail Reichtum, der Musik und dem generellen Verlauf der Geschichte von Otto Degen.
Die Episoden sind einfach immer Spannend und mitreißend, was jedoch auch noch eine sehr tolle Eigenschaft von euch ist, ist das die Qualität immer erhalten bleibt und sich wenn überhaupt nur noch mehr verbessert. Viele Grüße und macht weiter so ✌🏻
Starke Folge, und sieht filmtechnisch richtig gut aus. Wenn die Serie irgendwann mal durch ist, vielleicht mal über einen Supercut nachdenken.

Ta koleżanka z AK grająca główną rolę to raczej Polka, bo wymowa naturalna. Ale też szacunek dla Niemców grających po Polsku, bo da się tu wszystko zrozumieć. A historia do pokazania była trudna.

Wieder mal selbst übertroffen! Tolle Folge, PLW! Seit Jahren großer Fan, bleibt auch so.
Sehr stark; bin immer wieder beeindruckt... auch schauspielerisch auf hohem Niveau. Ich verfolge euch schon seit Jahren und bin immer wieder begeistert- großes Kino für das geringe Budget- ich bin recht streng mit Kritik und unrealistischen Szenen. Bis jetzt habt ihr mich nie enttäuscht. Großes Kompliment an die ganze Crew - auch hinter der Bühne 👏🏻und ich bin gespannt, wie es weiter geht!

You guys are very good at capturing what it must be like to be in a war . I like the perspective being from the German side as being in the US we normally see it from the allies perspective. Another excellent episode. The struggle between good and evil gets blurred during wartime, and this seems to be a theme that you never tire about exploring. Well done!
There was no "good" and Evil since the western/Eastern Allies and the Axis Forces were Slaughtering Civilians
only stupid people believe that there are "good" and "evil" sides. I think that this was main idea of the creators
@@jakovlepahhin2054 I hesitate to call anyone “stupid” for choosing sides in a war such as this. Were Ukrainians who sided with Hitler evil during WW2? What about the Finns who did the same? Were they evil because they fought against Stalinist Russia and , consequently, With, Nazi Germany? What was the greatest evil, Nazi Germany or Stalinist Soviet Union? Are all Germans guilty because they followed a leader who was evil? Or at least served the country he claimed to represent? Are Russian soldiers innocent of war crimes because we in the West were allied to those soldiers? All of these questions pushes the envelope of what is good and what is evil. At its best, the line isn’t clear. And that seems to me to be a theme of PLW’s storylines. You may disagree. But are others “stupid” because they draw difficult moral lines differently?

Но я не считаю приемлемым убийство мирных жителей. Эта вся канитель, дело рук гнид из высшего круга, так сказать, и не только России, но и Украины, Европы, США, Китая. Это они рассорили нас. I love this series! It is light years beyond the schiesse that comes out of Hollywood these days. This is so well done, that I could actually believe that these actors are, in fact, the characters they are portraying. Outstanding beyond words!!!
I've said it before, but this really is one of the best shows being made right now. The quality of writing and acting bests shows with much larger budgets being streamed on Netflix and other platforms. That said, this episode really did break my heart.

15:16. I watched hundreds of movies about ww2. This scene, is the heaviest impact ever…. The moment the soldier looked at that cross… I broke in tears.
When the music started after that. I sad there staring for an hour. Crying. As an Iraq Veteran.

Am Anfang sah man in Ottos Augen Glücklichkeit, aber in der letzten Folge einfach nur noch Verzweiflung, Wut,Trauer und Hass. Die Serie ist so Real ung einfach nur krank gut.

It's good to see an honest representation of the Germans in WW2. Many were good honest soldiers.
They all were. They stopped the communists from invading western Europe.
