Top doesn't mean most known. Top is subjective.
Freezing moon is a great song and it gets a lot of people into black metal. So it should be on the list.

The Messenger Your Mayhem is utter dogshit mainstream act. The popularity of Mayhem does not come from tough black metal compositions (like Hades or early Immortal/Enslaved) but comes only from the fact that Dead shot himself dead and then the guitarist killed the vocalist. That's it!
I love all 3 of those bands but even I'm tired of hearing em. Branch out and explore the world of Black Metal. Theres alot you're missing out on
