I''ve only been stuck once without a convoy to help. I had the unfortunate bad luck of coming across a couple who were on their way to the Jamieson pub across the top of the mountain ( which we were stuck on) and they couldn't afford to delay their attendance at the pub so unable to help although they did offer to drive 1 of 5 of us to the nearest hut and leave that person there. To this day I'm still unclear on what that would have achieved other than separating the group and still leaving one person about 10kms away from the campsite where the rest of our vehicles were located. Thankfully a couple of blokes eventually came down the track as the sun was setting (Victorian winter...) and gave us a hand. Moral of the story. anyone who's too busy to help others on the tracks should be considered scum of the earth. Great work with your recovery and ethics. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Interesting video. I like the camper pod on the back. No need to dodge low flying ducks. Just let it idle a bit longer after its been working hard up the hill. I would also use the exhaust brake and a lower gear on the downhill. But good to see the trucks doing the hard stuff easy
Enjoy your videos, you really put the Unimog to the test. In my very humble opinion I get the impression, from a few of your videos, that first isn't low enough in the Mog for serious off roading? Eg today looked like you had no engine braking going downhill. Would a working group fix that?
Great job Sam. Its bullshit how people dont even attempt to assist. Great to see the Mog in action, but the mrs really didnt appreciate some of your line choice's lol
I think it’s time to upgrade your lights Sam. We run under deck lights on the trucks so at night you can see all the way around the truck. This helps when you need to move the truck in tight spaces.
GREAT Job Mate, Don't see anything wrong with your methods or positions?? - Not to many options in that situation. I've Been up that line a few times - But never down + Its a lot more cut out than my last time there. Big kahoonas Bro.
Best mog video on the net! Use it for what it was build for... Camera lady will get use to excitement, good job!
Thanks mate appreciate that

Maybe I'm wired differently lol but there is no way I can drive past someone in trouble and not do whatever I can to help ...
@@chasing_the_dog3277 likewise but evidently there are some who don't hold the same morals.
@cyclemoto8744 but yet they'll be the first to expect help lol
@@chasing_the_dog3277 If only we could mark their vehicles to warn others. Albeit morally we'd still need to help them. No win situation
I thoroughly enjoyed this video for so many reasons. Great job.
Thankyou I appreciate that's
Awesome job helping them out , great job manoeuvring the truck down there .
Hope they were grateful
Thanks mate , they were very grateful, there were a few pucker moments getting to the right spot lol
Thank you, so much for helping shaun yesterday.

Nice work Sam. Sounds like the missus filled the on-board porta potty (a few times) 😅

Good work! You are definitely a good Sam-aritan😁

Great recovery, in bad conditions. You just re enforced my need for a Mog.. I havent driven one since about 1988 while in the RAAF..
Get one you'll love it ❤
Not all super heroes wear capes mate your a good egg
😂😂 I'm round like one 😂
No stopping that truck it's a weapon 👍👍👍
Top job for the Mog (and driver) - thought you were going to have to break out the floodlights at the end.
Surprising how quickly it gets dark , the gopro does make it look darker than it was

I agree with you a working group gearset is in my list of haves

We were discussing that on the way home lol
That hill is crazy how slippery it gets when it’s wet. Grahams side doesn’t look so bad in the distance.
Good on ya! And great job doing it calm and safe. Clearly not your first rodeo.
Thanks mate
@@chasing_the_dog3277 what’s you name on benzworld?
That mog is memtal off road, I know its a big rig, but you trew it down those ledges like it was a matchbox car!
Thabks mate
Not a bad effort mate, made it look way easier than I'm sure it was. Thats a massive hill
Thanks mate
