TQQQ Facts vs Myths | Nasdaq Proshares 3x Leveraged ETF

- Опубліковано 28 кві 2022
- The TQQQ is a 3x leveraged ETF that is designed to mimic three times the DAILY performance of the QQQ. I began investing the $TQQQ in 2022 after researching the ideas of holding it long term despite opinions that time decay and other -33% scenarios make it risky. This video discusses many of the facts and myths surrounding the Proshares UltraPro QQQ.

Hey friends...what are the RSI settings mentioned in this video? Daily? and what are the other perameters.
I trade both TQQQ and SQQQ based on mechanical technical signals. Thank for the additional information. I find both TQQQ and SQQQ great for swing trading but limit my holding period to less than 3 months. Thanks!
thanks man...very good infos.
very informative, appreciate it. assuming i somehow can time the near bottom of the bear market, imagine getting leaps on tqqq… absolute crack returns
ive made tons a money with this baby over the last 10 years what a diamond id be a bumb without tqqq
what % of your portfolio is in tqqq?
How much do you have in TQQQ
fantastic video!
Glad you liked it!
Learned a lot. Definitely subscribed. Where can I find the 25%-30% voltatility. Or is that just made up?
The author made those calculations up based on previous volatility averages.
I've always described tqqq as taking out margin without the risk of a margin call
How about doing sip in tqqq
Any suggestions
Hey friends...what are the RSI settings mentioned in this video? Daily? and what are the other perameters.
This is an excellent video. I've been heavily into TQQQ since 2017 as a LTBH investor and it's really paid off, even after the covid crash and the downturn in 2022. All you have to do is look at a long-term chart and that tells the whole story.
There is so much cruft and FUD and double talk surrounding TQQQ. You just need to have the stomach for it. I buy TQQQ shares every month like clockwork.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Anyone who doubts the opportunity can find hundreds of case studies like yours that prove the strategy works.
Do you ever sell it all - reset and buy back in?
@@McG002 No, never. Hold through thick and thin.
@@testpattern701 Right on. You still holding?
@@McG002 You betcha! I still have the first shares of TQQQ that I bought in 2017. I buy more shares every month through thick and thin. Lately the shares have been on sale at cheaper prices.
Can you make a video update about your investment on TQQQ? Thanks
This is a good video. However $90 isn’t really all time high. That’s how the brokerages account for splits.
Correct but split adjusted is the best way to compare across time
@40 Finance what happens to my tqqq shares if it drops to $0? can i hold or liquidated ?
Very unlikely that will ever happens TBH. The fund would liquidate on its own before that time though.
Checking this video out on 10-13-22. Tqqq opened today at $16.33
Fair enough. I am always transparent though. I've been sharing my ugly losses for a while now 😆
My avg is 50$ I’m thinking of just holding.
Hi Sir! What is your current cost basis for tqqq? Have watched all your videos and liked them! Very helpful indeed! 🙏🏾
$45 right now....will be adding more!
@@40finance im at 31.2 and looking to add more as well to bring it down to under 30!
@@40finance I bet he is closer to $35 now depending on his purchases last 3 months. I hope there is an August TQQQ update.
@@McG002 did you watch the latest update? Its quite awesome!
I searched and go through many YT Videos on this ETF but you answer all aspect in understandable manner. Thank you for clarifying people concerns. Do you think it will ever hit in $40s again being its decay nature or should we take loss now and move away?
If you believe the NASDAQ 100 (QQQ) will go up in the long term, yes it will hit the $40s and higher again.
TQQQ will certainly rise above $40. Get excited when its back to $55+
@@McG002 could it really get back there
It's at 40 dollar now
The daily resetting makes leveraged etfs great out-performers during long term bull markets.
is FINRA tryna break up proshares and LETFs? I was hearing FUD type news idk if true at all
I know they don't like them but haven't heard of any imminent news.
I’ve got about 500 shares at 45$ average. I’m scared to hold this but don’t wanna sell for a loss. Kinda stuck on the fence
We are in a similar situation. It could get worse before it gets better, but if you didn't sell for taxes in December then you might as well hold through the first part of 2023 imo.
Can please make a video on sqqq as well?
Who pay for sqqq? As it is a inverse etf of nasdaq.
in my naive opinion, its not good to bet against winners. I mean if you want to short Tqqq, just sell it off, and re buy a day or two later. IF the stock market or nasdaq qqq was flat, a short ETF might be a fair investment I don't know, but nasdaq and all major indices are up since the day they started, minus a few down days that have alwasy come back in weeks or months
you aren't buying the Top100 risky mystery stocks, you are buying the top 100 top 100 stocks, as an example. If I had spare cash I would DCA TQQQ everyday it is down.
Great video. Whats your cost basis? Are you still holding and buying?
Did anyone else BUY in late APRIL when this video was posted? Is anyone BUYING now in August?
Yes, I've been adding shares throughout the current downturn.
I'm at $43. Not too bad considering how far things fell.
@@40finance Agreed! I'm in, adding monthly and holding as well.
Yolo all in
Today is Sep 23, is there an update to this?
Yes there was an update on his channel with another video! Please watch it!
TECL is better in my opinion
I am all in tqqq is tough this days, today (- 13.5%.)
I feel your pain. At some point the bad days will turn into good days. The hard part is guessing when.
I find it best to put in money you are willing to lose, a small portion of your portfolio, into things like TQQQ, SOXL or FAS, and just ignore them.
I went thru bear market with these big drawdowns, and now all have recovered and are up nicely.
Years ago, I put in 2k into FAS, and basically forgot about them. I went back to the account a year after the Covid crash of 2020 and I found that investment at 12k.
I've been 100% in tqqq since January. Not doing too well 🤣🤣 picked the worst time in history to go all in. Sad.
Going all in triple leveraged tech ETF while multiple fed hikes = smashing your head with stones. 😂 I did it too intentionally out of greed.
Perhaps, thinking more like a trader as opposed to an investor would be useful.
Happened to me twice in crypto, so I wised up and went with leveraged etf's that are regulated and not manipulated.
If TQQQ is $2.80 I'm not worried about that money anymore I'm worried about taking out a loan to drop $100k into TQQQ @ $2.80 lol.
It's like the greatest tragedy followed immediately by the greatest opportunity in your life. Well, as long as TQQQ doesn't get dissolved. But there would be plenty of share splits in that timeframe to avoid just such a situation I imagine.
been there, done that and will do it again. Just make sure the note is easily affordable.
Hello, Thanks a lot for sharing these previous information. I invested like 30k on it at an average Price of 32.7, do you think I should cut my losses before it gets worse or I have chances to get at least my money back within few months? I'm quite bullish on NASDAQ. I'm just afraid that for some technical reasons, tqqq keeps falling or getting a reverse spilt...
The short term looks challenging. My cost basis is still in the $40's and I will continue to average down. Eventually the momentum will shift but it could be 6 months at this point. That doesn't bother me, but everyone has their own risk tolerance.
Thanks mate. Good Luck to you. I have finally figured what the risk is : a value deviation between the tqqq and its underlying asset that appears with the Time. This is thanks to your video. Thanks again
so what happened? @@guessmo5773
0.95% fee is for the year or montly? many thanks
Year.
I have been following TQQQ since January and it is 76% down. My crystal ball, which is often wrong, is telling me that we are in a bear market and that it could last until at least September, so I am waiting for the market to change to start buying.
You could be right. I do agree the second half of the year looks more promising.
@@40finance Most people think the 2nd half will be good. We hope we’re correct 😂. Hopefully it won’t take a decade to break even in TQQQ like in the 2000’s..
I think you are right on. The bottom will probably be the third week of October 2022. The years ending in something to like for instance 2002 xcetera seem to be the decade bottom point. Just saying
Maybe push your September timeline up a bit - but pretty much spot on.
@@McG002 I actually did and bought UPRO instead of TQQQ last week. I will be doing DCA
I suggest you put no more than 10k in this gem. Let it work and cashout in 10 years. rince and repeat.
Is there a possibility of a reverse split with TQQQ?
Anything is possible but I can't find any times they have done that in the past.
TODAY 50.50
Do you think TQQQ could ever get low enough to do a reverse split?
Lately it certainly feels possible. Remeber though that the dollar value of the drops get smaller since it based on percentages. -50% of $20 is still $10, which is enough to avoid a split imo.
Is this a buy rn as sept 2022
Just did a video...RSI is under 40 so I'm buying a few shares at a time. Could be a long winter but I'm in for the long term.
You make 10 - 20% in what period of time?
Not sure what you mean... I may have been using an example in the video.
a few months
@@Datacorrupter234 10 - 20% in a few months isn't something something to write home about, in my opinion. In week - yes.
How long before the market recovers..?
My guess is 4-6 months.
@@40finance Too bad Im out cash to keep averaging down
2025
@@40finance That would be awesome 😎! I think it’ll be a slow process though.

21:00 TMF has been getting destroyed as bad as TQQQ. Not a hedge at all
Yeah, it is not one I own but seems to be a popular hedge pick from the LETF's crowd.
Well sucks ìf you bought this end of April at 39. Currently buying under 19. Hopefully that isn't a mistake. 😅
Under $20 per share it is a nice entry point. Not to say it can't go down with all the bad news, but the potential reward is attractive imo.
What do you guys think of going long in TQQQ during a bull market? Any risk holding in a position that is triple leveraged?Especially if you can plan around the time this market switches into a bull market.
Definitely risk involved. Things do not always go as planned.
I bought 6000 shares at $48 😒
Give it time and try to average down in small lots.
check back in a few months if its still sunk then maybe worry slightly
Everybody greedy for the easy money
Well at least we know if this administration didn't do all this printing of dollars our portfolios would be looking completely different.
The previous administration did it too. They actually started it 😂. We all knew it would be a terrible idea.
regurgitation
This guy literally has the worse timing. Just inverse whatever he does
Quiet u clown
damn, it hurts watching it today :( still think TQQQ is a good move into the right market! Might get there soon. Meanwhile I trade dealy sqqq/tqqq
The scoreboard looks bad but the game is just getting started!
We are at all time lows still 🥲
