    Good morning, I would like to know what number is the key to remove the ventilation blades. the one you use in the 1.45 approximately. I say this because I'm an amateur and I don't want to buy so many tools and just enough. will it be 32? Thanks for the video, it oriented me very well and clearly.

    Update,,,,,,,,, on timing belt sprocket and fan belt pulley removal. Do not use socket wrench as fan stopper. Fan pulley can be easily destroyed. have a DIY v tool Flatbar 1" x 1/8 x 12" with smaller bolt 6 mm attach to .
    it will fit on the 4 holes on the fan pulley and sprocket. It does work . Pulley cost is $260.

    Changed my timing belt on mine a couple weeks ago (along with deleting the egr completely) and ever since it shakes when I shut off the engine. Not sure if I should be concerned or not but it feels like a cummins when you shut it off now and it didn't do it before I did the job

    hello how are you? please please please please help me! I am in the process of overhauling my Jeep KJ 2.8 CRD 2003 engine. I lost sight of the fact that it was necessary to make marks before removing
    the distribution belt! I don't know how to find the point of the engine without a reference. I searched and asked everywhere and didn't get a positive answer. can you help me please! You're welcome.
    thanks in advance

    Great videos! Can you do this with only removing the radiator and not the whole front end? (or is that even an option?). I was just wondering if you removed the whole front end for filming purposes or is it necessary to remove the front end to remove the radiator?

    Update,,,,,, on headbolt re-torque . Will I recommend lt? Yes with rules. First mark the headbolt between flanges and block. Loosen and tight it on the mark 75 ft lbs was my reaing. Add not more than 25 ft lbs (100 ftlbs total]). Max torque on new headbolt 120 ftlbs. We are only 80% . We are safe. It works.

    Could you tell me, which cam pin set you purchased? The one we got did not fit, so we did it with a camera we inserted to see if the holes align properly on my Grand Voyager RG 2.8 CRD. But proper pins would have made it much easier to line up the belt correctly.

    Hey do you consider the 2.8 engine to be reliable ? I am thinking about buying a Jeep jk crd

    • @teekay1785
      @teekay1785 3 роки тому +1

      Depends on miles and timing belt age . Timing belt less than 7 years old and about 80,000 miles is ok . Total miles on engine up to about 150,000 good. Putting about 40 hours of time and $2,000 into it if you are a decent mechanic/diyer =very good reliability.

    Hello, thanks for the good guide. I have one query. May be I'm missing something, but can't the timing belt be removed without taking off the cam wheels and only by losening the tensioner ?

      yes absolutely, and especially if your just replacing the belt and not doing the water pump I was also doing my water pump and for that I needed to pull off the rear timing cover as well as cam pulleys in order to get back in there great question and thanks for watching

    I did Head Gasket due to overheating along with Water pump and Timing belt. Timing pins and high pressure pump all checked out during the build, no fault codes on electrics and fuel is up to the rail. Engine cranks but fails to start, any ideas will be appreciated.

    • @GitItGarage
      @GitItGarage  4 роки тому +3

      mark whitfield more than likely the valves have contacted the tops of the pistons and the engine would be be done, sometimes depending on the way the failure occurred the block and pistons may be ok but likely has at least broken rocker arms it’s a gamble but u might get lucky

    hello greetings friend thanks for that valuable information. I have some questions I hope you help me. I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty Cherokee Sports Crd with 2.5Diesel engine. I have a problem that this Jeep does not have injectors and therefore I have the number of that part. I've heard a lot that the 2.8 engine injectors are the same with the 2.5. another also the cylinder head assembly of this engine. I would like you to provide me with a means of communication because I see that you have a lot of knowledge helps a lot thanks

    • @GitItGarage
      @GitItGarage  6 років тому

      It's kinda hard to say, if it's leaking id recommend uv dye added to your coolant and a uv flashlight to see where it's coming from, it works very well and might help in pinpointing the leak.

    • @Grognarthebarb

    • @Grognarthebarb
      @Grognarthebarb 6 років тому

      I'm thinking of leaving the timing cover off and hooking up the radiator then refilling the cooling system and using uv dye. Do u think this will be ok. Because I can't really think of any other way to find the leak. Also. My timing belt tensioner. The notch does not like up with the spring. Is this normal

  • @blainesnoop2580
    @blainesnoop2580 5 років тому

    Do your timing belt. Odds are the gaskets will crack. And if you ever hit a lot of water the timing belt can slip "and did in my case" causing major valve and rod damage. As well as required a new head that was shipped from Italy and nearly took a month. costly repair.

    I have one of these and it was in the shop13 weeks, costs me $2300.00. Had it for a day when it broke down again and it's in the dealer again. Before this it was in the shop for three weeks, costs me $3000 before it broke down again after a week and this is a VERY short list. I've had it for over 14 years and it only has 97000 on it. They can't get parts for it and they don't know how to fix it, it's a dog too. Oh, and the four wheel drive has been broken for a decade or so and my mechanic has warned me not to have it fixed because of what it would cost and the check engine light has been on since the dawn of time. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
