Wow, the pen is gorgeous! 💙 Thank you for sharing and introducing me to Franklin Christoph and their nibs. I had to look up what a SIG nib was and it's right up my alley! I'm in the UK and still new to fountain pens and nibs but already love both stub and italic nibs. Your nib box made me gasp...that's a professional looking kit! Would love if you could do a tour of your nib box.
Hey Kristen! I was gonna talk about the pen "It's awesome", but hold the phone. That nib storage you have going on there is really great. Have you done a video on that setup that I can watch? If not, will ya? 💜
Yep. I had to rewind that nib storage part.😮 Now that '42' is in the pen, do you update your spreadsheet(?) with its new location? Does the B that came with the pen now become '42'?
Model 2 is my favorite, and like you, I'm drawn to that shade - so, i had to have it. Mine is inked with Sailor 641. Blue Peppermint is lovely. I'll have to try it. The other Franklin-Christoph model I love is 40, the Panther. It, too, posts deeply, and I think it's a bit girthier. Love them both. You have a gorgeous array of colors!
I went to a pen show and ended up with a leather desk blotter. I mentioned the Italian leather blotters eveybody was running around with & the guy said he had one left with a small imperfection & cut the price down a couple times so fast I suddenly felt I needed it. A single piece of smooth leather with 'girologio' stamped in the corner. It's a dream to write on with a fountain pen & single sheet of paper like we've seen here. Maybe Kristen would find it the same dreaminess with a desk blotter and those pens?
So many lovely pens! I was tempted by that Model 02 because I love the material, but the shape of the pen itself isn't quite right for me. But gosh is it so beautiful.😍
You need an affiliate link with Franklin Christoph. They weren’t even on my radar but by the end of your video I had ordered the Model 3 in Antique Glass. I also wanted to add my voice to the request list for the video about your amazing nib box. Thanks for a great video.
What a stunning pen! This is also my favorite color. I tend to call it “aqua” personally since it can describe the blue-green spectrum of colors related to water.
Oh wow that pen is even more for gorgeous than I thought it would be! I had just picked up the Goulet exclusive model 31 so I had to pass on this one. Love your ink choice…..and … the secret nib box 🤔 😮
That is a niiccccceeeee! Girl! You got me going to the website. Your nib collection is amazing! Your Japanese is great. I like how you pronounce those inks! You be handling those words! I might have to get a Franklin Christoph! Good choice on the ink as well. That cats eye caught my eye
Lost Love Letters is one of my more recent samples and I don't really want to write with it so much as use it for art. That pink and green when it spreads and dries is so pretty! I've got two more VanDieman's in my cart as one of my next samples. That pen is right in your lane! Congrats :D
Oh, nice! I love the Model 02 in that finish. I have the Vanness exclusive Model 45, which I adore. It's such a nice little pen, and the material is gorgeous. It's so cool to see it in a larger pen. I share your love for aqua/turquoise pens. I'm a total sucker for anything in the green-blue part of the spectrum. This is the first one of your videos I've watched, and I'm going to check out the rest of your channel now! Thanks for this video!
Aw, thank you for watching! I'm glad that you are enjoying your Model 45. It seems like the pen is well loved since it rarely pops up on eBay or Reddit - then gets snapped up immediately. I hope you enjoy the videos!
I really enjoy your videos. I really value your comments on your pens - they are thorough and based on preferences similar to mine. 😃 That being said, I got my first Franklin-Christoph at the DC pen show a couple of days ago. This video really made me consider the model 02, which I did end up choosing. I do appreciate how deeply it caps and it is very comfortable in the hand. I just inked it up and am excited to use it! Btw, anyone reading this, definitely recommend that people go to a pen show ands try all their nibs out, never thought I’d pick a medium stub. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I LOVE my FC Antique Glass in Model 3 modified, and if you haven't seen or paired it with Troublemaker's Copper Patina, you're missing out. Beautiful ink! I have to put a bit of White Lightning in it, but once I do it's a beautifully flowing aqua-green color.
I LOVE Franklin Christoph pens… their custom ground nibs are SO great. I love the SIGs and the CIs. Gorgeous pen! Congratulations 💚🩵💚🩵💚🩵 I like how you have a SIG nib in every size. Way cool. I toggle between F and M, but I have a B which I love.
Okay. I am an aqua-green/coke bottle glass lover, too. I have that same Kakuno. AND I ordered this pen!!! Can't wait for it. I'd just discovered blue peppermint a few days b4 this video from an ink sample I got. So gorgeous, but I think I found one I hope will also be perfect - Ferriswheel Press Grand Central Skies. Fingers crossed.
One can never have too many Franklin Christoph fountain pens. Love your FC collection, that lavender is beautiful. I own and love 2 Model 46 Pens: one is a Antique Glass with a Nagahara Needlpoint and one in Cathedral with a EF SIG nib. They were grail pens for me back in 2018 and I finally bought them this past April... The Catherdral color is the same blank as the Esterbrook Estie Botanical Gardens. I reach for these 2 pens before any other pen in my collection, more than my Lamy 2000, or my Pilot 823... Vinta Mermaid Green Sirena may look good in the Vanness pen...
What an incredible collection! I second @marjoriemarloe8978's comment on a Nib Tour. Yes! And you got a Santini! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this one.
Love this pen! I've never owned a FC pen. How well is the sealing? I find my most reliable pens are my TWSBI Eco pens, Platinum Procyon, and Lamy 2000. I have had these pens inked for months at a time and always find that they never dry out and write immediately once the nib hits the paper. Could you please share your experience with your FC pens in terms of drying out? Thank you.
I have not left FC pens inked and unused for months at a time. I probably would not attempt it (unless I used a top notch ink), because I don't believe that they seal as well as TWSBI and LAMY pens. I think that inked FC pens should be used more often than every couple months.
Just found your channel! That color is gorgeous. I’ve really been torn between the model 02 and model 20. I know they’re a tad different, but both appeal to me.
I’m glad you found the channel! Both are excellent choices. I recently bought a Model 20p and realized exactly how similar the two pens look side by side. I think I agree with you! 😅
I would love a full video comparing and giving your thoughts on your SIG nibs at some point (if you haven't already) I have been eyeing one for a bit now, but can't make my mind up on a medium or broad.
I bought this pen and living in Germany it’s a very unnecessary, but beautiful thing to do. Being honest I bought it, because of your enthusiasm 😊. My favorite inks for this pen are Graf von Faber Castell Deep Sea Blue and Hisoku from KYO NO OTO (?).
@@lifeinspiresdesign Yes I like it very much and I am enjoying sharing my experiences, because using fountain pens for 55 years now , I always thought I am the only crazy person … 🤪🤪, but there are more 😀.
I love your FC collection. I had an o3 antique glass pen but found the grip to be a bit small. How does your new one compare to that one in the grip section? I think your new pen looks even prettier on the video than the website.
I’ve never bought a Franklin Christoph. You’ve got such nice ones! Any advice for a first time FC purchaser? What are good FC starter pens that won’t break the bank?
The smaller pens typically cost less. I'd recommend checking out the pen comparisons on the FC website to see what shape and size you'd be interested in purchasing. Also, Mystery Arts here on UA-cam published a video titled "What's in My Pen Case: Franklin Christoph Fountain Pen Collection" that I reference regularly whenever I'm curious about a specific model. I'd also recommend checking out eBay and Reddit for secondhand (less expensive) sales of FC pens. I hope this helps!
You teased me with the nib box. That needs a tour. If you have previously "toured" it, please give me the link.
I agree! Amazing.
Yes, please!!!
Yes, I agree!!

That. Wow.
When I first saw your Model 3 Antique Glass that put Franklin Christoph pens on my radar, but that Model 3 exclusive - it just went on my list! 😍
Yes, I knew this pen was right up your alley as well! I absolutely love your collection of pens in this colorway!

LOL an affiliate link would be nice! Working on the nib storage video!
Omg, the colors of those franklin christophs! just watching this brings a smile to my face aaah, thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!

Those FC pens are STUNNING 😮
Yes the are!
I need another pen like I need another hole in my head.
Gonna just add FC to my Christmas List radar 😅
LOL I completely understand!
Love Van Diemans inks! Franklin Christmas makes excellent pens (I have 17 so far).
I think you sold me on this fountain pen. Ordering it right now 😂
LOL I hope you enjoy!

LOL thank you so much! Franklin-Christoph is definitely a great brand - one of my favorite US brands. Well made pens and excellent customer service.
Such a stunning pen. I don't own any Franklin Christoph's pens. This may be the first one I purchase. Your nib storage 😍
Thanks so much!

That's awesome! I'm so glad this video was helpful, and I wholeheartedly agree with testing out all the options at a pen show. Enjoy your new pen!

I ordered this pen also and I looovvvesee it!! Thanks for sharing!
Yay! It's so good! Thanks for watching 😃
❤❤❤ I have wanted a model for so long. That color is 😍

Such a beauty. The Model 02 is the last pen on my shopping list.
BTW FC pens taking #5 nibs have model numbers ending in 5.
