Thank you for a wonderful presentation. I would have missed this piece completely, but it is amazing to learn about how it was made and what it meant to the Egyptians.
What a beautiful and detailed statue! Thank you for all the history of this, including how it was made, the material, the glaze, the color - as well as why it was made, and what it was then used for. I enjoyed also the explanation of the details of the statue, including the headress, and the serpent on the forehead of both mother and child. Another great few minutes in our day to contemplate art!
How very pleasant to get another look into that case that holds so many small, exquisite objects. I really appreciated the message of love and family and protection its lovely glazed surfaces tell, most appropriate in these troubled times.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful background on this statue and its meaning for the Egyptians. In addition, the information on its creation (mold & firing & color) and its coloring were fascinating. I will most certainly look for this piece at future visits to the Barns. Terrific.
Thank you, Carl, for another wonderful presentation! I loved hearing the story of Isis and her son. I will look forward to seeing this statuette. I might have otherwise overlooked it.
Great presentation, Carl. I liked the background on the history, how the piece was made, why the piece was made etc. Would you tell that part of the story again where the little baby is nurtured by his Mother's love, grows up and takes his kingdom back from the God of Chaos and Violence?
I enjoyed learning about the details of such a small object. I wish there had been an even closer look at the details that you noted. I look forward to viewing one or two of the presentations each day.

Thank you so much. I learned quite a few things I didn't know before, such as how faience is made.

Thanks, Carl. Beautiful statuette. I enjoyed the backstory of Isis, Osiris, and Horus, all familiar names from many sources in the fine arts.
I hope, at the end of this great series, that a list of the objects and their locations is published so I can find and admire them "in situ"!
