WOWZERS!! This thing just sounds absolutely glorious!!! And I really freaking love the way it looks!! Definitely looking forward to all the music you end up making with this, cause I know it's coming!!! 😁 The Zoia is freaking ULTIMATE!!! 😲🐀 ... "I should probably have patched up an actual rhythm..." - LOL That part had me cracking up! 🤣 I rewind that lil bit a few times and laughed even harder!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂 (Needed that today man. 🤗)
It's pretty awesome! It's so powerful that it takes a bit of diving into, but I've been exploring all sorts. Can't wait to see what else I can do with it.
I've got the original Zoia and I keep considering selling it because it's just setup as a send for Ableton, but then I know if I spent more time creating my own effects it'd be totally worthwhile - thanks for the reminder!
Amazing sounds!!! I'm looking for a small external keyboardless synth (if there is such a term) that I can use along with the Polyend Tracker in sort of a mobile setting. I'm able to use a combo power brick /speaker with the Tracker so I've got both power and sound covered. What would you recommend that is very analog sounding, small, midi in that the tracker can trigger and also draw it's juice from USB a power brick?
@@artisans8521 Thanks, I'm looking a a few but I'll add that one to my list. I know this sounds a bit crazy be I'm seriously thinking about getting a Yamaha QY100.
Nice video 🎶 I have the zoia pedal, but been movin more and more towards modular over the last yrs. waiting for your euroburo-deepdive-video before I might switch for that cv-controlled zoia 🎶 I'm tempted yes, so you might convince me😀 (....some pressure intended) 😁
I know I’m broke. I know it’s a different box of frogs but, Zoia or The Godfather? Zoia is a synth as well as effects. I like Zoia for the effects and open source stuff, and I could have a formidable piece of kit to stuff into my barren Euro case. On the other hand The Godfather is straight forward. An effects unit. All those knobs. Pricier. I need a killer FX send for performance.
There's not really much menu diving. Once you've selected the blocks, each parameter is represented by a pad. It takes a bit of time to understand and use it to its full potential, but is an interesting and powerful way of working!
@@StephenMcLeod Thanks for the reply. I have always been interested but so many damn buttons. I do have the Grone which is a simpler but a modular system in one module, but those self generating patches you showed sounded awesome!
I don’t want to go down the rabbit hole of modular, but if, as you say Zoai is like a full modular system in a little box. Maybe this would be something I should consider getting.
It is a pretty good introduction to that world, as it gives you the building blocks of modular systems within a single box - a physical box as well - which I much prefer over the software modular stuff.
I'll have to add, it seems like in your vid it is indeed self-contained. Love how you say you're not a fan of ambient (sacrilege) but love the sounds it is producing. I think I would get more out of this than a Lyra 8, takes up less space and would play nicely with my KSP, Pro 2 and Pro 3 with CVs.
Ok, calm down synth wizard, with your alchemy of sound. It sounds like you are casting audio spells, eye of bat, a wee bit of wing of newt, Some arbhar, a pinch of lubadh, abracadabra, and hey presto, an ear worm of sounds to wander through your brain, taking away your independence and the power of free thought, be careful, you may go on a journey into sound and never come back. Reminds me of magic mushrooms, many’s the time I was out there wishing I never had to come back.

very cool stuff bro ^^
Thank you?
Oops that was meant to be a thank you!
I love my Zoia. I have the pedal version. Endless creativity. Sounds good as usual!
Hell yeah! It's even better than I expected. Thanks for the comment!
Hey great vid.. I was thinking this could pair up well with the Dirtywave M8 ?:-0. What do you think?:-)
It could! The possibilities between those two would be pretty vast.

Yeah. You can definitely set and leave it, but the real beauty is digging into its complexities. I'm still trying to get my head around it!
@@StephenMcLeod I really love making crazy effects patches on it! Just need to sit down and do it 😂

I got a Micromonsta to pair with Tracker and it's great :)
In fact I bought Stephens old one 🤣
There aren't a huuuge number but check out the Dreadbox Nymphes, or the MicroMonsta as two starting positions!
@@StephenMcLeod I see they have a MicroMonsta and a MicroMonsta 2. Hmmm...
Looking forward to your take on the zoia platform. Cheers!

Sounds bloody amazing! Interested to see how it pairs up with a semi-modular like the Neutron or the Pro-1, or something along those lines 😁
Thanks Steve! I'll note that down for the future review!
Thanks mate, that would be awesome. Not that I’ve got a Neutron or anything 😏
We need more Zoia videos man
More to come!!

I haven't heard of the Godafather! Who makes it?
Enjoy Electronics. Enjoy-Lab. They’re based out of Italy. I think preorders just started. Freakin Sleek.
Epic!
Thanks!
