@@uktransportgames Ye this is another thing. Maybe some might go to the Fastrack routes, although I believe they might be getting some IE Trams as well.
Will be sad when the citaros go. It won’t feel anything like 358! But I can tell u that each day until TBC, 5 of the old fleet will run during the day. That includes one Citaro, BF65 HVD
Amazing 358 irizar IE tram Observations/Tour+Journey TBBG!These trams have spaceship design with smooth acceleration hopefully R buses also receive electrics.
Well the days of the 358 Citaros flying around catching up time when late will come to an end. They'll have to adjust the timetable or there will be many more curtailments (I'm assuming like the rest of the EVs these are speed limited).
I travelled on the Citaros last June on the 358 between Orpington and Bromley and although they are a bit worn, they are lovely buses and its a shame they will leave this route. Hopefully they can be sold elsewhere for a second life. Would be a shame to scrap them
These are interesting but I'm sad that the citaros are going. Hopefully they can find a new home, I know airport's are quite interested in mercedes buses so maybe they might end up in one of them.
Awesome one, finally they are here. I wouldn't say the ride on these is any smoother to other evs. But its great we are finally getting more different types of buses for more variety it is making london transport a bit more fun. these are very unique. I do love the old legendary font on the ibus tho ooo
Im curious,on a scale to 1 to 10 how comfy were the leather seats. And also,do you think this nearly 2 years delay was worth the wait for these buses? (Also you can never escape that Dong sound that every electric bus seems to make, even with these unconventional buses)
The reason why all recent electric buses have that "dong" sound is so that blind people can listen out for them since newer electric buses are very quiet.
Because buses here in the UK seem to be cheap spec, no double glazing, aircon isn't standard, and most modern buses don't seem to have radiators at all.
Looks like they have a window demisting issue! Here's an idea - why not string up some electricity wires along the road so they can power themselves via their pantograph? Oh, yes, it was called a trolleybus.....
@@TheBromleyBusGuy Well, these days the technology must exist for a hybrid bus - either drawing current from a wire or operating on battery (and using the wire to recharge the battery). You wouldn't need expensive wiring infrastructure on all of every route then - you could wire the roads which are most used, and the buses would switch to battery where there weren't wires. This would also mean that such buses would be more flexible than the old trolleybuses, not being entirely restricted to where there were wires.
@@TheBromleyBusGuy I doubt we'll see the MECs go until Spring or Late Winter next year with the problems the IEs are having at the current moment to be honest, nearly 40% battery loss after just 10 stops?? A joke lol.
Yeah it's like they didn't even bother with the interior. You'd think with all the delays they'd use some of the time to give them a lick of paint inside.
Grey is a perfectly nice colour. So is black. It is unusual that their is no til branding on the seats, but it is perfectly normal for operators to change aesthetics, also it gives a premium feel.
God don't they look ugly, the fairings over the wheels remind you of the LNER A4 Staem locos, they came off due to hindering engineers servicing these loco's so the same will happen here. It is just a bus with wheels covered in nothing to do with a Tram that requires rails., just build a Bus.
Nice vid. Glad to see them in service finally, but I still don't like the fact they are replacing the Citaros. I will miss them when they go.
Thanks, agreed
What’s worse is that these Citaros aren’t even 10 years of age
@@uktransportgames Ye this is another thing. Maybe some might go to the Fastrack routes, although I believe they might be getting some IE Trams as well.
I think the citaro should do the 359

Damn, these look sick and sound sick in the inside😮
looks straight outta the 2000s
looks a lot newer than that mate
@@LJ07EBP I can see where he's coming from, google the "ftr" bus.
@@LJ07EBPit looks ugly too
Anything from the 90's to 2017 is better than this ugly thing, as long as these doesn't cross the river and head North I'm happy.
@LJ07EBP i think he means the styling - it somewhat resembles a wright streetcar which was from the 2000s
these are very odd but interesting at the same time but nothing can beat a good citaro! great video 😄😊
Finally! Your photoshop years back was so accurate.
They look nice, nice observation and tour of these mate, love ur channel
Thanks!

In Spain is very normal watch these buses around the country. But i think UK its the first conuntry appart from Spain to have these buses.😊
Great video mate, at least there will be more Citaros for 108
theyre meant to go onto kent fastrack soon aswell
Correct!
Nice video! Sounds like a Borismaster lol I have been on these buses in Barcelona…

most r buses are getting 100evs within the next year or so
The seats make it look non TfL, nice vid

nice removal of Johnston font, and nice NTFL seats, bet these will have issues in the next few days

Wish East London gets one especially for Newham and Barking & Dagenham borough.
Great video. Although I like the Belfast Glider buses better than these.

Why do the electric buses now sound like the electric mode on the nb4l routemasters am I bugging? Even the caetano e-city golds sound the same.
Probs same battery make
Around Amsterdam there are busses with pantographs for years already.
When there are tram strikes or engineering works these buses should definitely be on the tram replacement
That would be cool lol
Send Them To The Scrappers
Yeahhh
Great video. They should do a Citaro farewell day but I guess they won't.
not needed yet, theres still 2 other batches of citaros in london
Now it’s even worse! BF65 HVD is the last Citaro😢
Nice video
Thanks!
Weirdly in enough I actually Like the Mercedes buses 😄

I'd give the seats about a 6, they were alright. I wouldn't say the delay was worth it as I'd rather have the Citaros for longer lol
The reason why all recent electric buses have that "dong" sound is so that blind people can listen out for them since newer electric buses are very quiet.
I’ll find some time to use them
Do they use Siemens Electric Motor?
And the run aged like milk coz some of the IE Trams have broken down
I need to hear the door chime
Has it got heating? The steamed up windows aren’t a good sign. Sadly, heating seems to be a rare luxury on TfL buses.
Not any heating that I've experienced lol
Because buses here in the UK seem to be cheap spec, no double glazing, aircon isn't standard, and most modern buses don't seem to have radiators at all.
@@TheBromleyBusGuy it’s crazy. Why do TfL think people want to sit on a bus shivering when you could be nice and warm in your car.
Looks like they have a window demisting issue! Here's an idea - why not string up some electricity wires along the road so they can power themselves via their pantograph? Oh, yes, it was called a trolleybus.....
To be fair though, the infrastructure would cost a fortune. But it definitely makes sense for trolleybuses to come to London in the future

Why didn’t they change the interior tho 😭 Pure metal poles and no seating Maquette is not the TFL way

Thanks, nah I just rode it before college lol
le tram
They could refurbish old buses by adding charging ports and wooden flooring. or they can make an electric bus with the same and better design
That would be very expensive.
@ they could also add camera mirrors because yellow ones break easily like the routemaster
Well yeah but the whole point of the IE Trams is that they're electric
They should’ve put the citaros on the 227😞
That would've been lovely!
They did but the Stagecoach ones were all withdrawn
Lol
3:10 wth was that noise
Air pressure releasing

3 to 4 years late
I dislike how the interior has no real GAL identity...
Even the "future spec" on the E400EVs is plain and boring
These busses are crap send them to crap
It's better than a BD11
Elaborate.
