I do not use starch. I use a cheese cloth to filter out all of the paper pulp several times and I pour the remaining water into the toilet. If you just have paper pulp water, theres no reason why it cant go down with waste remains and toilet paper. Right??
I live in an old house with touchy plumbing. After a heavy-duty and expensive visit from a plumber (not crafting-related), I'm really careful about what I put down the drains. Paper pulp can turn into a cement-like substance. But, I'm not a plumber or even a papermaking expert - so take my opinion with a grain of salt😉

Oooh we collected lint and used that to make paper when I was a kid! It turned out really cool!
