I really enjoy watches and that's why I started this channel so I could review them regularly but my satisfaction is not found in owning or experiencing watches, no matter how many I may accumulate or how luxurious and expensive they may be . . .
Wise King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 5:10 "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity."
The truth is, material possessions of any kind, money, power, etc. never can and never will satisfy our hungering souls. Only knowing, loving, and serving God can truly satisfy.
The only way we can have a real relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe, is through the Lord Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
Through Christ's sacrificial death on the cross, for my sins and your sins, and His resurrection from the dead we can have peace with God (Romans 5:1), forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:43), eternal life (John 3:16), and so much more!
In Christ, we can know true joy now and for all eternity.
"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." - 1 John 5:12

The SS Aquascaphe on the beads-of-rice bracelet interests me! I’ve got a Miyota 90S5 in my Lorier Falcon that is slightly slow when on my wrist & slightly fast on the dresser, so it stays within 5 sec over a week’s time. It outperforms my 2 sub-$1K watches with Swiss movements (ETA 2824 & Sellita SW330), so I’m pretty impressed with it!

That's great! I like Miyota movements for sure! Thanks for watching.

I recently bought the Aquascaphe with the same movement. I regulated it by myself and after 4 days it is still on time. Over the the day on my wrist it gains around 2 seconds and loses the same amount over night. I cannot ask for better. But when I got the watch it was around 25sec/day too fast. To regulate it with the help of an app, not having good eyes and no screw to regulate it was just luck. Really, if you push the lever even a micro distance, the watch will run 30 sec slower or faster. Incredible hard to regulate without a screw. And always the fear to slip the screwdriver into the balance wheel.
BTW: its easy to open the back without a special tool. Make yourself a small ball (golf ball size) of duct tape, remove the straps and turn the caseback with the help of the sticky duct tape open. But be aware that the watch, after opening and closing, is maybe not water tight anymore.

Hi, when you say "the movement isn't what you buy it for" , does it mean it's worse than its competitors, say Sellita/ETA/Seiko?

Hello! I only had it for a few months, but during that time I didnt have any problem with it, and I think it ran about +7 spd, and my guess is that it is at least as good as its competitors. But then I cant say too much since I only had it for a shorter period of time

the thing that bugged me a little bit was that it was a little too light for my taste, and the indexes on the dial was slightly greenish in daylight, couse all of the lume (this is the black version, the blue has another color on the lume I think)
Other than that I thought it was a really cool watch!

I have the same crown wobble issue with my blue version. Also, the bezel has a little play in it when pressing on the sides. It annoys me. I wrote to Baltic and they say they have a fix for the crown issue. I am returning it for them to fix the crown and bezel. Otherwise, a very nice and accurate watch (+2sec/day).

Just wanted to report back on my issues with the bezel and wobbly crown. After contacting Baltic, they paid for an express return label. They fixed the crown and the bezel. After 3 days I had the watch back in my possession. Talk about express service. The bezel still some minimal play in it, which is acceptable, but the crown and stem is now stable and stiff as I should be. Really happy with this quick and effective customer service. Thumps up Baltic!

I had the same problem with the crown. They did not offer to fix it. This is what they said:
“This is normal, the crown is a bit wobbly on the Titanium and there's nothing to be worried about.
It's a specificity of the movement.”

Thanks for the review, I am still undecided to buy or wait when they fix theier issues. It is bit pricy for the specs and you pay a lot for the hyped name Baltic at the moment. At such low number of released watch there should be no qc issues.

Hey, Josh. I’m pretty sure I’m in the minority amongst enthusiasts, but I don’t understand the premium that seems to be automatically applied to Swiss Sellita and ETA movements. I consider the Miyota 9000 series to be perfectly comparable, so I don’t believe the price premium is warranted. As for Baltic, I have always liked their designs since I became aware of them 2+ years ago, but I have always thought they were overpriced. Not as badly overpriced as fellow French brand Yema, but still a bit too high. Fortunately, Baltic has great customer service, while Yema customer service is absolute trash. In any case, getting your hands on #8 is pretty cool 👍😁

I've had both the Sellita's and the Miyota equivalents and I have nothing bad to say about the Miyotas! Excellent timekeeping if regulated well, utterly reliable and a creamy smooth seconds hand sweep. Sellita are much the same though I had issues that I was told by hand winding them where the rotor bearing or clutch failed and the rotor would spin when the crown was wound rather than slip. Happened to me twice over the years. So not necessarily the case that the Sellita are more bulletproof
