Through the Years in Minecraft | London Edition
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- My take on the "Minecraft through the years" format, except this time I focus on the history of London, from 1200BC to 2200AD. We work our way up through the Iron age, Roman era, Saxons, Normans, the medieval period, Tudors, Georgians, Victorians, and then an in-depth look at the 20th century. After this we explore some possible futures with aesthetics such as cyberpunk, Sci-fi and Solarpunk, all explored on the same one street.

En 1940 todavía no existía minecraft ni los juegos
@@Reynaldo-lu1pweveryone knows that💀
@@Cult_of_MJ only one half of battersea power station was completed in the 1930s the rest was built in the 1950s due to world war 2
I love how the old buildings are becoming increasingly deteriorated and weathered throughout the timeline. Really adds immersion.
The big wooden buildings have also been here for a long time!
Like your pfp Glory to…well you know
I like how the church is still standing even when being under a big flat plate, it’s still there, waiting for the reverend to and people to come…
The lack of dental offices is really accurate. Good job
this stereotype annoys me but this comment actually made me laugh xD
OMG yes💀🙏
American moment
@@ThoughtfulDuck-r8h The part that annoys me the most is that on average British people have healthier teeth then Americans
British people thinking all their haters are Americans as always
A truly fascinating telling if londons history, the 1920s, was my favorite part.
Also, I love how the church stays roughly the same.
its there till the very end just buried under the sea, i think the 1920s were one of my favourite eras to build, but i think the 2050s were the most fun

@@Cult_of_MJsame I love 1920s
I love how it turns from modern to cyberpunk to solarpunk (2020-2200)
gotta get through the tough times to get to the good ones :)
@@Cult_of_MJ Isn't historicist architecture the best one? After that we went futuristic aka modern. Those 60s fugly concrete boxes was "future" to the architects. Maybe the best thing is to learn from the past rather than trying to make something futuristic, anyway that is why everyone loves Vienna.
@@velvet3784 i completely agree that older architecture is far far better, cities like Vienna are beautiful and i would never wish to change them. however, they sadly represent the imperial social structures at the time they were built and were only possible because of those imperial powers, in the same way that cyberpunk is reflective of late stage capitalism and economic disparity. what i mean by the good times is something like solar punk, it doesnt look anywhere near as nice as victorian or Georgian architecture but it represents a more hopeful, sustainable and equal society. architecture tells us a lot about the world it was built by, and solarpunk has emphasis on being environmentally friendly, long-lasting and bountiful to those who live in it, which safeguards humanity’s future and avoids pressing issues like climate change. that is a sort of world id like to live in, even though its rather ugly compared to the beautiful architecture of the past with its unfortunate colonial roots.
@@Cult_of_MJ you are really smart btw. love the way you describe historical and societal things and connect them.
@@Cult_of_MJ Solarpunk city can be beautiful if certain districts had their own style like art nouveau, baroque, etc with the green space of course, and the city center having tall glass skyscrapers with cool neon lights lighting the skyline when its night, picture that
The road from the 40's was hyper realistic, good job!
thank you, it felt weird to blow up my own build but it worked out well in the end :)
Lol, the 2050's literally being the 1980's vision of a cyberpunk future. (love it tho)
you're very talented. keep it up i hope you get the recognition you deserve.
thank you, youtube is tough but no harm in trying, ill keep going as long as i find building fun :)
mate you just went through the entire fricking evolution of human society in like 7 MINs thats crazy.
Can you please do this for other cities too? Berlin, Moscow, Rome or Paris would also be very interesting
gotta love the SOAD playing in the background ;)
Something about these minecraft time-lapse videos is so entertaining
Dude I love the rendition of toxicity, it was cool.
I love how after the roman collapsed, people had to live in tent during Saxon time
Love it! keep up the good work!
6:05 Finish the fight
I thank you for adding the flying Scotsman on to the railway bridge, very good detail
one of my favourite steam trains :)
Man that church stood strong for almost a millennium
Very cool indeed!
5:06 I love this song
Your icon reminds me of Shep’s art style
It is toxicity from SOAD?
yes it is :)
I knew i recognized it
It would be awesome if the future utopian was both solarpunk and lunarpunk, which both has the same philosophy except one is day and the other is night

this has been my most successful video so far, i really didnt expect it to take off like this but im very happy it did :)
I SAW YOUR SKIN! LET'S GO🎉
It's crazy how that church managed to stay there since the normans
In 2001, I wasn't there then, my big sister as a kid, she could have flight to London. In 2024, she could stay forever
Am I the only one who sees this kind of future dystopian?
@@usgusdus1215 the cyberpunk one is dystopian, its not a good future, but sadly its a likely one. the true good future is the solarpunk one at the end
Love the vid man, though lack of villagers kinda ruin the immersion for me but I enjoy it ^_^

Thank you for your video, you have done a titanic job of showing the history of Britain through architecture in minecraft. You even showed what architecture will be like in the future, once again I want to thank you for your work, greetings from Ukraine
Apart from London being underwater well before 2200s, probably even in our lifetimes, good job.
0:03 love this 1,200bce
Man, the church and factory are seen good days. Like they survived n@zi's attacks in 1940s. And just let you know the church is the only one building, who stayed here for a long time. Also good vid👍
Very cool

WOW ! AWESOME WORK ! CONTINUE !

some how looking at the street in the 1960's one, i was waiting to see a blue box on that street
7:12 Solarpunk my beloved
We need other cities versions!
2:04 Hey, what happened to the Jacobian era? By which I mean the times of James I, Guy Fawkes, Puritans leaving for the new world, and the absolutist reign of Charles I?
there wasnt too much of an architectural shift between Tudor and Jacobean so i just jumped ahead to Georgian when all the terraced houses were built
Work perfect!
The Saxon Period (410-1066 AD) Sounds Amazing

I wonder what the name of the song plays at in the 2050s. Also, I heard that same song that someone used in a cities skylines car ride video too, and their first one also
all the music is in the description, i think the 2050s was this one:

yes I love toxicity, been a fan since it released I 1600 BC 😍😍
3:33 my favourite part… RIP WW2 soldiers rest now in peace.
I think it would be a good idea to make other versions of cities too
Not to be a party boomer, but you got the saxons all wrong sir. They reused much of the left behind roman structures. Also not rightfully depicted to showcase a "tribal" look. They were much more sophisticated in their building techniques.
Otherwise entertaining vid
im not a sir but thank you for the correction, im not an expert in history and so i sadly made a lot of mistakes, thank you for the feedback :)
Just curious, why did you focus on that specific unknown patch of London rather than the part where Tower Bridge, Palace of Westminster, and Big Ben are? Don't you think they's be more recognizable?
the street shown in the video isnt based on any individual real street in london, its more a collection of architectural styles that were popular at different periods. although there are recognisable buildings present such as Battersea power station, canary wharf, and the shard.
We already know what they look like, I think its nicer to make a custom street of London to see what the architecture of the rest of London was like :)
We are going to make a map of whole London from 3000 BC to 3000 AD
@@seamasjarman3858 best of luck :)

Inaccurate! The worlds gonna end before this Christmas
sadly it seems that way, but we’ve gotten through tenser situations in the past without a nuclear escalation and we can only hope we’ll do so again, lets hope for the best because if the worst happens most of us wont be around to know any different

3:29 Marvelous recapturing of the Blitz and bombing of London by the Nazis during WWII.
But brits were the kings in it
Could you maybe do one on New York City?
Rome next pls
I know that took a entire month or 2 to make that because those people who built that in Minecraft most likely to break intervals ( a week per part ) and then merged all of their creations together into one video
this project was actually nice and speedy i only spent a week working on it, id spend less than a day on each section, my other projects however do take months and months, this was just a simple build i did for fun :)
