I adored the place in Alexandria and am so excited to be able to witness this massive restoration. So hoping something inside will be ready by Christmas as his decorations are purely magnificent.
Hello Brian! Thank you so much for taking us along on this very exciting renovation!! I watched the Homeworthy video and was so impressed with this beautiful home!! I love all of your ideas and I think the exterior paint colors are going to look stunning!! I look forward to the next video as it was a pleasure to visit with you! Have a great day! :)
Nothing says ‘Old South’ to me more than the smell of boxwood - glad you are incorporating so much of it into your plans. And SO happy this grand old lady has come into the hands of someone who truly appreciates her, and her history. 💕
Hi. I appreciate the love and care you are exhibiting in the restoration. My parents were among the earliest preservationists in restoring a plantation house and dependencies starting in 1965. My father was a perfectionist and would only accept the highest quality of repairs with historic materials …. As a child I was there watching and learning how a bona fide restoration should be executed. Thank you for sharing…. Your furnishings are exquisite. So happy trees did nit damage the house. I have experienced downed trees as well. So I realize how you are feeling. Take care …
Saw the tour of your new home on Homeworthy. Make lots of videos! This is an amazing home and I can’t wait to see everything you do to put your personal touches on this property. Just an amazing place. I loved your previous home too!
Hello Brian, looks like you really know what you are doing. I am also a lover of period architecture and antiques. I'm in my thirteenth restoration and am now looking at another. I have better relationships with my houses than I do with people. Carry on and keep sharing your progress.
In case no one told you how to reverse camera on your i phone, there should be a little camera icon with circular arrows at the bottom that will turn it around if you touch it. I’m excited to watch your restoration. Sounds like you are doing it right. 🌱😀
I really like all of your ideas, I found you because of the Christmas Tour-I would love to meet you as Im sure tons of others would as well-maybe you should write about your home like B. W. did and you can do a book tour-you have me hooked now--Have a great summer😊
I’m so excited to see all what your planing for Cedar Grove, love all your ideas. Love your videos, I have to say like one of your other comments some wrote. It’s like I’ve know you for a long time. Can’t wait till your next video.

Hi! I love this old house. We restored a 1912 craftsman home about 25 years ago. We still live in it. We love it! I just hope that you have doors made in the areas that go under the house. I'd be not only scared of the spiders but also snakes getting under there and making their way into your house. I'm looking forward to sitting down with a beer or a glass of wine and watching the rest of your videos soon. I just subscribed today.
So enjoy your latest posts on Cedar Grove. Having a giggle because I think your Brockett Ghost stole a ride on the van and is now in residence. I think he’s very happy and loves his new home as there’s more space to STOMP around! But wait there’s more…had to laugh when you mentioned the budget. After all the wonderful improvements you described I saw a vision of The Budget sprouting wings and fly out the window while your checkbook burst into flames!!! Hope you’re laughing and know how much your followers support and appreciate including us on your journey. PSinclair
Brian! Thank you so much for taking us along this journey… It’s kind of like being with a friend who’s taking around their new house! Cannot wait to see everything you do, because I absolutely adore and completely jive with your style! Yes, I used the word“jive “ 🧐😆🙌🙏
Fantastic adventure and beautiful ideas, Cheers to you PLEASE keep selfie mode as it makes it so personal since we can't be there. All the best to you Brian!
I love watching your videos. I also am an admirer of Southern historic homes having grown up and lived in the Tidewater Virginia area my whole life. We have many plantation houses and historic homes and of course Colonial Williamsburg.
Brian, I feel sure Laine and Kevin from Our Restoration nation showed this house on their Channel. I hope you all could get together and talk. I think you all would just hit it off!
I love this! I’ve got one more video to go and I’ll be caught up. I am loving this so much! So happy to have stumbled on your channel, this is going to be a fun journey!!! ❤❤❤
Dude, you are just so pleasantly entertaining. I live in rural NC and am very familiar with places like yours. Just please retain a little‘rusticity’ here and there for old times sake. Otherwise your plans sound great. Good luck 👍
Vintage Woodworks, in Quinlan, TX, makes beautiful period appropriate wood screen doros in cypress. I had several made .ore my restoration project on the family 1850s farmhouse.
New subscriber love the restoration & your design style. Seen you first on Homeworthy & today this recommendation showed up so exciting❤. Thanks for sharing this process. Are you going to put a gate around your entire property to keep people from wondering onto your property? Noticed the sound of cars going by as you filmed. Those deer are stunning. Last Christmas was our first time having deer display loved it. Take care & try to enjoy the process.
I’m always amazed when homeowners discover original features squirreled away on the property. I think you insinuated this, but I absolutely love the baluster pattern on the railings. Are you planning to maintain that pattern when you rebuild the portico?
I think your gazebo might be a historic out building repurposed. You may be able to find old death inventories or tax records that list the out buildings. I say this from the location to the house and from the brief glimpse of the roof interior. Thanks so much for sharing.
It does not make sense to me to use the old windows that are single pane and not very energy efficient. That would also be a lot of wasted energy trying to restore them. Just do it right in the first place and get all new energy efficient windows. There are many, many styles to choose from that would complement the house.
Don’t anyone tell him how to reverse “selfie mode”. His enthusiasm and facial expressions add so much to his story. 👍🏼🥰
I laughed out loud!!!
I totally agree!❤
Brian Branton is always a pleasure to watch and learn from. Can't wait to visually share in this adventure.
