More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She just moved back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?). She became very famous in Quebec and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio) ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... “Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella. Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic ua-cam.com/video/SyILdRAOS88/v-deo.html
Lara Fabian is my favorite femal singer of her generation. She is untuchable. She is still going strong. I saw her inTallin oct. 2022. Great reaction...besides that about Celin. whatever..
Best storytelling in a modern performance I had the honor to listen to. This is brillant and a gift to all people, who understand, what coming to your ability to show emotions in a performance is about. Simply great.
She wasn'tthat popular as Celine , because Celine had a team to keep Lara from the radio in Canada. So she was afraid for competition. In my eyes that means that Lara was and still is better. Biggest difference is that Celine sings a song, Lara sings a story ;-).
And also hateful ignitamus it was Renee who was paranoid that she wouldn’t be able to come back after her hiatus so please quit accusing her of things she didn’t do
Too bad you didn't use the version with subtitles. Thankfully I speak enough French to understand her. This Belgian/Canadian singer is a emotional powerhouse.
Great reaction to such an incredible performance! My favourite female singer without a doubt! I recommend the next few songs to react to. You're not from here, Adagio, Broken Vow and Caruso. Looking forward to your next reaction. Greetings from London 😀
that show was recorded in MOntreal Canada . She has a beautifull performance in Paris listen to her song Je t'aime meaning I love you a very special moment with her fans in that show .You do not get to see this often worth listening to. :)
Yes Dimash is a total fan and she inspired him in the way he delivers his songs. Here is Dimash telling Lara he is a fan since he is a child ua-cam.com/users/shortsrG6NjcAVAsM?feature=share
Celine and Lara are both from Quebec, Canada (Lara was born in Belgium). Both are about the same age and have probably been around the same amount of time. Both are power divas. IMHO, Lara is the better singer, but Celine had the backing of David Foster early on.
Fabian is fabulous. Her voice so powerful, she puts more than 100% into her songs. Yeah she could be compared to Celine Dion with similar phrasings and style and power.
Believe it or not, the lyrics are emotional as well. She is one of a kind. Lara and CD have had a rivalry since the 1988 Eurovision competition, won by CD with Lara finishing fourth. I REALLY wonder who finished second and third! Thank you for taking Eric Sicard's recommendation, even though his name always confuses me.
Thanks for that. Made my day. I do slightly prefer the origin Ziegert middle high German ziger "Quark" (ziger cheese), because my grandfather founded a cheese company in 1924 which still esists in Central Wisconsin USA.@@ericsicard910
Well i didn't understand a word she sang! But this is an extraordinary voice and I loved it, I would compare her to Streisand and Durbin she's that good
Beautiful emotional, there are more versions. In 2021 Karsu & Belle Perez, did this song in the Dutch program beste zangers (best singers) as a duet. Language wise even a bit more complex because Belle sings in French and Karsu in Turkishand. Normally they do not sing together, but the result..
Here's a video the hints as to why she never made it big in the US (Vocal Trinity - The 4th Voice - Lara Fabian) ua-cam.com/video/TyB6vXDdZBY/v-deo.html This performance is from her concert "From Lara with Love 2000" many of the song lyrics were written by Lara; in this concert she sings in French, Spanish, Italian and English. 1. Love by Grace 2. Perdere L’Amore 3. I will love again 4. You are not from here 5. Je suis malade 6. I am who I am 7. Caruso 8. Yeliel (My angel) 9. Quedate 10. Adagio 11. Broken Vow
Still watching Lara Fabian videos, you should be really frustrated about her...didn't you find a good therapist yet?? Once again, you wrong page.. This is Lara's.. Celine is next page... Also Celine did je suis malade don't you know it?? Oh.. What?? She didn't? Oh gosh I was wrong sorry.. Why didn't she do something like this?? Maybe she is not able to perform like this?? 😮😮
Great request Eric! This artist, to me, sounds like a beautiful blend of Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion. Very impressive voice. Thanks Harri and Eric 🌺✌️
Barbra is Lara’s idol and you can see this here in these covers: * Yentl Medley: ua-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/v-deo.html * Evergreen (she replaced Barbra who could not come at last minute, and without rehearsal, as she was present on the same event for a duet with Josh Groban): ua-cam.com/video/FTa1MdPN-Io/v-deo.html Barbra did cover in some concerts a song from Lara: Broken Vow. As for Celine, she is also an inspiration for Lara but sadly Celine is the one that got Lara blocked in the US, using her already established celebrity and political power. She knew from Quebec experience that Lara would rob hearts very soon. In Quebec, many say: “we gave Celine to the US but we are keeping Lara for ourselves 😂”
@@lizatsurkan4323 but it’s Rene Angelil who pressured (threatened?) Tommy to stop promoting Lara in the ballads lane. Following the intervention of René, Tommy tried to renegotiate the contract and move Lara to the pop dance lane only (where she had been #1 for 58 weeks in the US with I will love again). Lara refused and the game was over in the US. The From Lara with Love concert was not broadcasted by PBS nationwide at decent hours but in NYC area very late for instance.
She was not as popular as Celin because Celins group blocked her from being popular in America. She is a better singer and performer than Celin and I hate that she was blocked out. Fact. She wrote Broken Vow.. Check it out

ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html
is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.
Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic

Thank you ❤
Finally my brother Lara. !! More please. Her most popular live videos. She will be your favorite. I promise
Check out Lara doing Caruso or Adagio. Equally mesmerizing!
Lara Fabian is simply amazing her gorgeous vocals combined with pure emotions is out of this world
Thank you for the request and reaction
The voice ❤
She is best she sings with all her soul so nice born in belgium❤❤❤ and i love her
Harri. Είναι η βασίλισσα μας ❤️❤️♥️💖💖💖❤️❤️♥️💖❤️
Lara Fabian is my favorite femal singer of her generation. She is untuchable. She is still going strong. I saw her inTallin oct. 2022. Great reaction...besides that about Celin. whatever..
Keep Celine’s name out of your mouth hater
I've been waiting for this.
Best storytelling in a modern performance I had the honor to listen to. This is brillant and a gift to all people, who understand, what coming to your ability to show emotions in a performance is about. Simply great.
Lara is my favorite. Followed by Sissel from Norway.
She wasn'tthat popular as Celine , because Celine had a team to keep Lara from the radio in Canada. So she was afraid for competition. In my eyes that means that Lara was and still is better. Biggest difference is that Celine sings a song, Lara sings a story ;-).
Please keep Celine’s name out of your mouth
@@lizatsurkan4323 sure, she's comming out of my rearside :p
And also hateful ignitamus it was Renee who was paranoid that she wouldn’t be able to come back after her hiatus so please quit accusing her of things she didn’t do
Wow! Incredible vocalist and great performer ❤
What an amazing and extraordinary talented singer! That was beautiful!!
Bravo👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Too bad you didn't use the version with subtitles. Thankfully I speak enough French to understand her.
This Belgian/Canadian singer is a emotional powerhouse.
Muy buena reacción. Lara es fenomenal, no tiene comparación.
She is the best❤nice reaction
Great reaction to such an incredible performance! My favourite female singer without a doubt! I recommend the next few songs to react to.
You're not from here, Adagio, Broken Vow and Caruso. Looking forward to your next reaction.
Greetings from London 😀
She is fantastic she is uniq
Always love your reactions. Thank you from California U.S. 🙏
that show was recorded in MOntreal Canada . She has a beautifull performance in Paris listen to her song Je t'aime meaning I love you a very special moment with her fans in that show .You do not get to see this often worth listening to. :)
Lara Fabian and Luis Miguel are the two best singers of my generation imo.
Lara ✨️❤️
I liked! Thanks! 🎉
Lara e Houston são as cantoras que eu mais gosto.
Thank you Eric for this wonderfull suggestion
Yes Dimash is a total fan and she inspired him in the way he delivers his songs.
Here is Dimash telling Lara he is a fan since he is a child ua-cam.com/users/shortsrG6NjcAVAsM?feature=share
Celine and Lara are both from Quebec, Canada (Lara was born in Belgium). Both are about the same age and have probably been around the same amount of time. Both are power divas. IMHO, Lara is the better singer, but Celine had the backing of David Foster early on.
Thanks from France!
Fabian is fabulous. Her voice so powerful, she puts more than 100% into her songs. Yeah she could be compared to Celine Dion with similar phrasings and style and power.
You should read up why exactly she isn't as popular as Dion. You'd be surprised.
Why does my name confuse you? Just curious? 😂
Because we share the same first name ?
@@ericsicard910
because my last name is Zeichert (Zike ert) which gets mispronounced in a variety of ways- including zickart.
@@ericzeichert511 surely the same Sieg-hard origin, which means hard fighter in german.
Extremly well... filmed
Here's a video the hints as to why she never made it big in the US (Vocal Trinity - The 4th Voice - Lara Fabian) ua-cam.com/video/TyB6vXDdZBY/v-deo.html
This performance is from her concert "From Lara with Love 2000" many of the song lyrics were written by Lara; in this concert she sings in French, Spanish, Italian and English.
1. Love by Grace
2. Perdere L’Amore
3. I will love again
4. You are not from here
5. Je suis malade
6. I am who I am
7. Caruso
8. Yeliel (My angel)
9. Quedate
10. Adagio
11. Broken Vow
Look "yentl medley" live Montréal 1997 ❤❤
adagio live is also great
Thank you Canada for the gorgeous voice of Celine. You can keep your Lara
No you all are the ones frustrated by Celine’s success. Also Lara wrote that song for herself idiot. She never shopped it around
LARA FABIAN album sales LARA FABIAN sold over 5,811,287 albums. The best-selling album by LARA FABIAN is PURE, which sold over 2,100,000 copies.
❤❤❤
Great request Eric! This artist, to me, sounds like a beautiful blend of Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion. Very impressive voice. Thanks Harri and Eric 🌺✌️
Barbra is Lara’s idol and you can see this here in these covers:
* Yentl Medley: ua-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/v-deo.html
* Evergreen (she replaced Barbra who could not come at last minute, and without rehearsal, as she was present on the same event for a duet with Josh Groban): ua-cam.com/video/FTa1MdPN-Io/v-deo.html
Barbra did cover in some concerts a song from Lara: Broken Vow.
And check the comment I posted with a recommended playlist
Thank you Quebec for the much better one
@@ericsicard910 for the millionth time Tommy Motolla was the one who got her blocked but enjoy your hate
Check it out
It is Céline, NOT Celin!
Tommy Motolla was the one who blocked her
@@lizatsurkan4323 Oh! oui ce fameux producteur que meme Mickael Jackson a dit en public que c'était le diable en personne cela ne m'étonne pas .
Que triste. Ela é uma excelente cantora.
Absolute bull shit , nobody blocked nobody.
Harri, thanks for reacting to my request. I saw you thoroughly enjoyed it.
You should have use the link I sent with a better video quality and english subtitles ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html.
Lara has been prevented to succeed in the US (by Celine Dion’s staff) but she is a superstar in many other countries .
She wrote 200+ songs in 4 languages covered by the greatests from the past generation (Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …) or the current one (Dimash, who is her absolute fan, Diana Ankudinova, Cakra Khan, Floor Jansen, Gabriel Henrique, Morrissette Amon, Gigi de Lana, …)
She is the best emotions conveyer on earth and this is big rabbit hole for you to dig in 😂
And in my opinion, a superior vocalist to Celine as well. 🥰🥰 And Yes, the video with the subtitles much better quality.
@@CarlD70 Celine has a much better voice and more skills
Um as far as emotion Barbra says hi - you know the actual professional actress as opposed to…………..
@@CarlD70 I have been a hugs fan of Celine for MANY years, but I agree with you - Lara is far superior and her husband knew it - that is why so many strings were pulled to keep Lara hidden from United States ears
@@lizatsurkan4323 about the voice and skills? That's just your personal opinion the same but many others don't share the same opinion as yours.
Try Lara singing "Mademoiselle Hyde"
❤
Now listen to DIMASH version
hello, please don't compare Lara to Céline. Lara's voice is much more beautiful, more powerful with more resonance. she sings with emotion, she is an incomparable performer. Céline stopped her career in the USA, I'll let you guess why. Celine simply feared that Lara would overshadow her, it's disgusting. Since I found out, I no longer listen to Céline. thank you for listening again lara, you will not be disappointed.
LMAO you don’t know anything do you hater. It was Tommy Motolla that stopped Lara and Lara herself said that loud and clear. Also Celine has a much better and prettier voice. Not to mention more skllls
Keep your lies about Celine to yourself
Absolutely agree that Lara’s voice is much more beautiful, Céline’s voice is too nasal imo
It is a disservice to compare her to Celine Dion.
Celine is much better
Селин Дион говоришь, да ей далеко до Лары Фабиан, и к тому же этому исполнению уже более 20 лет,
Nooooooo!!! Don't talk about Celine... please. Lara is art... Celine's... well... not Lara. Nir even close
LMAO keep your delusion to yourself
Lara sings in 13 languages and English is one of them. But his can not be sung in English, no way.
Lara stans are such two face hypocrites. I have already seen like three posts trashing Celine on here and they swear that they don’t. Well guess what we are going to keep talking about Lara then
hello, Lara Fabian sings in more than 12 different languages and is fluent in French, Italian, English and Spanish, her musical repertoire is very varied and covers Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, Maria Caray, an exceptional and authentic artist and also a source of inspiration for many young singers like dimash she takes you on these journeys of the heart, of the soul, of the spirit, through the sound of her voice for the time of a song thank you Lara
