    This video demonstrates how to make microbiological media. LB agar is made, showing use of an electronic balance and addition of selection components, ampicillin and arabinose, to media. Proper pouring of petri plates, including labeling, is shown.

    Thank you so much for this series. As someone who is looking for a new position after spending a lot of time is my previous position doing more image analysis work than wet lab work this has been a fantastic refresher on basic lab protocols and techniques.

    great vid. At the lab i work at the agar is water bathed until 40C, and a pipette is used to transfer 10ml into the dishes ( helps with dilution calculations ). Then we wait about 3-5 minutes for the agar to set up, then they are inverted,sleeved, batched, and chilled. ohhh and we seldon make less than 5L of media. Our media maker is constantly making BPW, BPW-ISO, XLT4, EC, MLRB, 0.1 % peptone, DBRC, 2x Bolton's, BLEB, etc. lol

      How much antibiotic is added to the media??
