- In this 3rd and FINAL EPISODE of the OVERLAND SPAIN series, I'm taking you with me in the European Death Valley, the most iconic Spanish desert ... THE BARDENAS REALES !
The Bardenas Reales is a semi-desert natural region, or badlands, of some 42k hectares/104k acres in southeast Navarre, Spain.
The soils are made up of clay, chalk and sandstone and have been eroded by water and wind creating surprising shapes, canyons, plateaus, tabular structures and isolated hills, called cabezos.
Bardenas Reales lacks urban areas, vegetation is scarce and the many streams that cross the territory have a markedly seasonal flow, staying dry most of the year.

I've been to the Bardenas twice now in September and October, unlike your trip with rain and mud we had dust and more dust, hence we nicknamed it the dust bowl.
We tied it in with some Pyrenees tracks and the smugglers path down into Spain via Andorra.
Well worth a day or so if your in that area.
The mud didn't ruined our trip, it was fun and beautiful! I really want to explore the Pyrenees, I've hiked a few times but never overland it!

The drone we use is the DJI Mavic pro 2!
The clay wasn't too bad to get off but yes, pressure washer was definitely needed.

Amazing video, congrats! The scenery is so amazing. The only thing is that there is huge difference in volume between music and the interesting speech so i had to constantly play with volume up and down on my TV :). Cheers!
Thank you for your feedback! I edit my videos (especially the sound) with headphones. The music should go down to hear the voice clearly but at the same volume. 🤔
