I have the pesky critters to. The lawn tearing and sod rolling is to reach the grubs of June Bugs or Japanese Beetles. They're trying to do you a favor. LOL. You have a lawn banquet problem. Skunks do it to, but only make tiny holes. You could count yourself lucky. That racoon isn't trying to move in. Very inventive solutions Steve.
You finely outsmarted him Steve. I don’t know if the raccoons are that smart around here but I know they are big. They get big tipping over the green bin and then the door opens and voila!!!! A seven coarse meal just that easy… Well done Steve and it makes for a very good video…..CHEERS
PAPA Texas Shirt! No tearing up sod here. Yes, I use leverage too, just the opposite way. Steve's always thinking and working smarter. lol, I hate it when it's getting good and the camera shuts off. Got him! Yeah, he wasn't happy. I don't release mine till the next day. All I caught this week was 1 possum.
Success! The sweetest thing in the world! Well done my friend! You sure have become much more inventive since the deer feeders up north at your camp. The one you designed that became a bear feeder.
🤣🤣🤣 That raccoon out smarted you, Buddy. Too bad that we didn't get to see the most important clips. They sure are pretty darn handy. I like how you did the bottom plate & later the back wall plate as well. Your traps is starting to look like some kind of sci-fi experiment 😄 Our trap hasn't been in use for some weeks because we are having problem the latch not keeping the door closed & locked. The cage has been through a lot and is in need of some TLC. We have been mind blown about the sheer number of groundhogs that are running around my project house neighborhood. Hopefully soon we shall fix the problem and get back in the business of relocations. Have a great Sunday, you guys 👍👋
How's she goin'? This is a great series Steve!! It's been fun to watch the trap's evolution. Racoons are so smart and they will find a way to get to food no matter what. If they can smell it, they go for it. You're changes were well developed and thought out and in the end you have proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that yes we are smarter than a racoon!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
They only dig when they detect grubs in the soil under the grass. Put down some grub killer on your lawn and they should stop tearing the grass up. (that was what they were doing to mine). Cheers my YT friend.
We have racoons, skunks and turkey digging in our lawn I believe looking for grubs or worms. They make a mess, but the woodchucks (gophers) damage the most. Plus, the red painted woodchucks will return after trucking them for twelve miles across the Mohawk River!
Hi Steve hope you are doing well Cheers 👍 At 5:00 That Racoon living rent free and tearing up his lawn "Sup Em" Fierce no way Steve letting that happen
Feisty little guy! I've never seen a raccoon in real life outside of the zoo and West Edmonton Mall. I do have a mom skunk and three baby skunks living under the porch next door that my cat has made friends. I've forbidden their romance though, he's too old to be hanging around with a single mom
I think i saw a gps in his pocket , Probably on the bus heading back now . lol . Bet he watches your videos and knows all the traps . lol Stainless zip ties
Wow .... I did not know that marshmallows work .... I use dry cat food from Walmart .... I have caught about ten raccoons using the same type of trap .... after catching about three the problem goes away for about 6 months .... I drive about 8 miles to release .... the other day saw mother and 4 baby raccoons crossing street .... it never ends and they can pull boards off buildings .... they are a nuisance to deal with .... Thank you for this video though nice to know I am not alone with this problem .... 😊😊😊
The raccoon is so cute! I think that you and Mike from Grampie's Workshop should get together and learn to love your yard critters. Mike THINKS he doesn't like squirrels, but I know that he really LOVES them. Same with you, Steve. You really love these raccoons but there is some small block preventing that love from flowing forward. I think a simple meditation will work: Close your eyes and picture the cute raccoon and say to yourself "Raccoons are Nice" Repeat 100 times a day and before you know it, you'll be hand-feeding these guys in your kitchen.🐭🐁🐑🦓🦫🐿🐰🦡🦨 Sneaky little guys to pull the marshmallow out the back! You might have University-educated Raccoons in your area! Is there a University nearby? The first one you caught was a high school dropout for sure, but not this guy, he's got a PhD in trap evasive studies! Maybe stop dropping them in the woods beside the Animal Sciences building! You still have a challenge ahead with these guys. They are smart!!
HAHAHA , well they sure challenge me alright. My family of squirrels are nice to have around , no problems but the odd raccoon is not so nice for a yard pet.
Hi Wyatt They are smart but the odd one is very destructive . My neighbor had one tear the shingle off her roof at the air vent and tear that apart to get in her attic. I came over after she got a company to trap it and cut all the branches that it used to get up on her roof. It ended up costing her over 1K to fix all the damage and remove it.

This happens about every 20 years as it's the odd coon that does the lawn tearing up as the majority just find better meals:)
That was a great idea you came up with on the trap. That raccoon was really checking it over before going in. Well done Steve , Cheers
Hi Lloyd , it's a learning process for sure .

Never seen a possum up here but they say their here now . The coons are many , never seen so many so relocating them to the bush is working so far.
Great tip and tricks.
Keep up with the great work ❤️ 😊

HAHAHA, Rick the bears are much smarter than a coon anyday.

Groundhogs breed like rats so you have to trap , trap , trap 😂
Thanks for your content
@@Mandalorian02 Thanks for watching.
Great coon training Steve. I await the next training session.
@larry9441 HAHAHA , hopefully they learn to "stay off my lawn "

Thanks Mike , I do see how it can be frustrating for some not knowing what to do as their lawn gets destroyed.
Hey Steve....the raccoon may be looking for buried peanuts in the lawn from the squirrels....they love peanuts too....
Yes absolutely , they can have at it looking for peanuts inches wilderness now :)
"Drop him off in the forest, taki'n him for a ride". Steve is a professional racoon hitman for hire.
HAHAHA , Hi Glen . Your lucky to live on Staten Island where raccoons were all eaten by the Gambino family years ago.
Interesting guy for sure you are Steve! Looks like the war with the raccoons continues but you’re proving you’re gonna win!
Hi Doug , It's like Caddy Shack in my back yard 😂🤣😅
Dam! Those greasy racoons🤣🤣🤣
That was awesome Steve✌
Marc , nothing worse than a greasy coon tearing up your yard 😂🤣

Hi Larry
Been doing some reading on home remedies from the 50-60's and your going to see if they work on these sod grubs.

real good video
Thanks , much appreciated.

The racoon is living in the wild now :) Cheers
Have you checked if your turf has grubs or wasp nests or similar that the racoons like to eat?
Hi Sylvan
Yes, I did , I couldn't see anything at all . I am working on a prevention video in case there are bugs under the sod .

Skunks are pretty docile but when they spray, look out 🤣😅

Hi Anthony
Yep it a challenge with so many around . I'm working on a resolve to the grubs in the lawn . Cheers
I'm thinking that ACME is going to be coming and looking for you to join forces with Wile E. Coyote! lol
HAHAHA , The Roadrunner Racoon Trap it is then 🤣

Now there are blue raccoons running around and there is a shortage of marshmallows in the area. 😅
HAHAHA 👍
Lol, nice tips, thats the squirrels playing tricks on ya and blaming the raccoons
Na the squirrels look too innocent 😉
@@SteveRobReviews lol oh they fooled ya
They are pretty smart animals. My wife feeds these dudes on purpose, no traps allowed. :)

I have raccoons digging in my turf looking for worms.
At my place they would have tore up the whole lawn if I didn't trap them first.
