I like the music, and way the choreography builds to the big climax. It's a very entertaining ballet; and not every company can pull it off.
Yes, Mark, it's a challenge for any company. It was set up here, at Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro in 1961 and even today we ask ourselves how we managed to dance such a difficult ballet. My husband, in the aisle, was in a state of panic. I only danced as a company intern, still a student at the Official School, but it was unforgettable. Thanks for the comment. A hug.

@@michguy1019 Michguy, I danced Étude in 1960 and 1961 with Ballet of Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro assembled by Harald Lander himself. We danced manytimes this fantastic ballet danced by Tatiana Leskova, Aldo Lotufo and others first dancers of the company and once by Claude Bessy and Attilio Labis.

Unfortunately, full versions of ballets are not always posted with good image. But at least the record remains. And I had to negotiate copyrights, even though the channel was not monetized. A hug.
