This is the second half of my 40+ mile/11K+ foot cumulative ascent hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Remainder of Gunther Fork-Balsam Mtn-Mt Sterling Ridge-Palmer Creek & Hallow Gap Trails). These trails provide sweeping vistas, cascading streams and waterfalls, encounters with hogs, turkeys and other wildlife, unexpected challenges and, of course, ferns, wildflowers and other beauties!
