I have no idea of most of the football lingo these guys are using, at the same time I’m absolutely fascinated. I first saw the double wing in 94’ my old high school, I was blown away, I couldn’t believe what I was watching. This team won almost every game that year after going 2 years winless. I love this stuff
This works I used it last year Shut a double wing team down That was averaging 70ppg We beat them 18-12 Just one thing I would say You need your two 2 techniques to buy into cutting If they don’t It won’t work & they well move the ball on you. So get that buy in. Use this when you go vs any wing t offense.
Under, Eagle, Bear, 44 Stack are the best fronts vs Wing T. Mix the coverages and rotate between Cover 0, 1, 2, 3. Tell your lineman to not run more than a yard into the backfield. If they get a free release into the backfield then someone is going to eat hole them. Any free release upfield then the Defensive Lineman will need to stop one yard of penetration and react. Don’t need to run yourself out of the play. Slanting the line and some MLB blitzes works really well. Don’t get downblocked. Fight em off and be strong. Definitely spill the run but I wouldn’t wrong-arm pullers with 1-1 cancellation. Get them to run sideways on the sweeps. Play cloud rotation techniques to TE Wing side. Not Sky rotation. The Safety won’t make the plays.
In the Fly sweep cut up. At the snap, the wing takes 3 or 4 steps and tries to cut the End. The End avoids the cut and spins away (towards flow) meanwhile a pulling guard is on his way. The Guard then Cuts the same End??? Is that legal in TX HS football??? To run that far and then cut someone. In CA it wouldn't be legal in HS. You can cut but a cut block has to be your first move out of your stance. No influence cuts allowed either in pass blocking.
