Not the same broski. The 2 stroke owners are just being g newbs atm , different class the 2 smokers are ,u less your going to explain how your yz 125 feels that's thats a good comparison 👍 to the 250f
the 23 sxf250 is an awesome bike! I mainly feel the low end power difference when using 3rd gear in corners. The YZ will pull out of third where the SXF falls flat or needs to downshift. But the SXF250 revs out way father than the YZ too!
Yoo Derek with another banger! (Sorry I’m late, we’ve been really busy 😢), I really want a 2 banger! But I might look into this! Keep up the great work!
I currently have a ktm150sx I like the bike I like to switch bikes every few months, I like the 2 stroke for now but when I sell this I will definetly be buying another yz250f I loved my old 2015 yz250f
Well I have had two yz450’s as an older vet rider I really got tired of getting arm pump and the once in awhile o crap moment. Decided to get a 250f in 2020 and was in love turning was great power was perfect. Decided to sell the 2020 and upgrade this year so I bought a yz250 2 stroke and a yz250f now I have the best of both worlds I couldn’t make my mind up so why not have both lol
Dude trust me on this…get a 250 bro. A 450 is way to much for most tracks and they are way more boring to ride then a 250. Coming from a 125 you will love a 250 and HATE a 450 I promise
I wouldnt get a 450 again. I had a 2017 YZ450 and it was just too snappy and too much bike. It makes you a lazy rider bc instead of working on keeping speed you just twist a lil more and you have all the power you will ever need. 250s are WAY more useable and fun. I now have a 300 enduro two stroke and its by far so much more fun than the 450. My opinion, 450s shouldnt be bought by anyone who isnt A or pro class riders.
Tha good people in motocross are amazing tha sport is great because of that. Note: YAMAHA has never let me down. 5 - 250fs because tha fun facter ROCKS.
If you are doing a mix of motocross and trails then yes. I ride this bike on trails and it does well except for stiff suspension. If you want to ride only trails and enduro, get the yz250fx or get a softer suspension set up on the yz250f.
I’ve been torn between the Yamaha 250 and the Kawasaki 250 since you liked both of them. I do want to pick up a 4 stroke though since I’ve rode 2 strokes my whole life and want to try the 4 stroke side.
Do you find this bike funnier than the yz250f i ride a ktm 300 exc atm but for racing its to much i plan on a ktm 150 build or the yz250f for motorcross maybe even a crf250r, that carb seems wicked but chuck some castor 927 in for that smell and send it!!! 👌
i think i would be decent on it i mean only bike ive had is a pw80 but have had a trx250x raptor 90 and now a yfz450r and can clear doubles and triples and step ups. ik two different worlds fs im prepared to be ass on a db lol but power wise i mean a 450 quad is a lot of powa i would assume a yz250f would be fine fer me right? 6ft 185lbs
I haven’t rode the newer ones but I had a 2016 I loved how wide it was easy to grip but I hated how much torque it had it would rip my arms off so I got a ktm450 and it has so much linear power that it’s so smooth and doesn’t even pull your arms at all but I’d like to ride a newer yZ I wonder if they are kind of the same
Yup I've rode the 2021, 2022, and 2024 CRF250R. I prefer the Yamaha for the suspension comfort and smooth powerful motor, but the Honda is still a great bike. I noticed it had really good front end feel and cornered really well. If you search "First Ride 2024 CRF250R" on UA-cam my video should be the first to come up.
How much engine braking is on the new yamaha? Do the gears pull for a long time or is it still a short shifter. I'm on a 2017 yz250f and trying to decide between ktm and yamaha.
A good amount of engine braking. Feels like normal 4 stroke engine braking. The gears rev out great, but not as far as a KTM. The 250sxf makes all its power up top and revs super far. This YZ has loads more bottom and mid but definitely doesn't have the top-end power of the SXF.
Love me some Yamaha. Do you like your 450 in the trails that you ride? The trails near me are so tight, I couldn't imagine chugging a 450 through them.
It is really hard to find good decent power road legal 250. I like wr250f which is quite same engine like yzf. I have 2007 husqvarna te 250 with 310cc big bore and it is my favorite for supermoto. It has 43hp.
I have a 21 KX250 also and the power up top is crazy, feels like it revs forever! I like the suspension and grip better on my YZ250F though. Did you get a full PC pipe? What power coupler do you use?
@@DerekHallman yeah i hated the suspension too so I got it done by FC, the pipe is just the slip on cause I didn’t want to send my ecu out for a retune with the full system, but it sounds way better now and it more snappy off the bottom to mid range with the pipe, I’ve been going with the white coupler for the extra power but green is good too

Can confirm, this is definitely my favorite 250f.
Traded my 22 YZ 450f for a 24 YZ 250f, and it was the best decision I made... I absolutely love the bike
I got a 2024yz450f and hit up roberts last week and cleared all the doubles thanks to your videos!
hell yeah congrats bro! The track is so much more fun when you're doing all the jumps. Do you like the YZ450 better than the YZ250X you had?
@@DerekHallman oh 100%, ot Flys through the air more naturally, has low end torque to get me up to speed after a corner and the gearing is perfect
