We are like you guys, when me and my husband travel 🧳 we stop by at street food 🥘, to save money 💰 we appreciate your video your subscriber from USA 🇺🇸
Thanks so much for your sweet comment! Glad you enjoyed this video ❤️ this market was a bit pricier than we expected but we love the street food markets! Always so fun to see all the different options available ☺️
@@WorldFamilyExplorersI don't know the types of durian coz it's so many and it's just all same smell 😅... I will just eat it all Durians 😋.. at first you won't like it but second time you will understand and love it
Yeah I'm not sure on the sausage, it wasn't a crowd favorite 😅 but the pork skewer made up for it. This market was a bit pricey but it had some fun options we haven't seen before like that leg of lamb!
@@WorldFamilyExplorers on Wednesday, there is the longest night market in kl. It is called the connaught night market. You need a better budget there just because it is so looooong. Usd 10 each. This will fill you up. Most likely more than 1 km
What most people don't understand is that the higher prices for food in Jalan Alor are directly dictated by the higher rental cost in the area. It's located in the Golden Triangle of KL after all. But what you don't get from other food streets compared to Jalan Alor are its energy, food diversity and the tourist vibe. Its pretty exciting and the perfect spot to sit down, have a beer and people watch!Lol😂😊
I have to agree, the energy there was great! And we saw a lot of different foods that we hadn't seen before. So even though it was a bit pricier than we anticipated (makes sense on the rents, though!), we actually quite enjoyed it 😂
@@WorldFamilyExplorers Thats great. Nearby, you can try Medan Selera Boustead (8th floor, Boustead car park block) for breakfast and lunch on working days. Entrance at the lift next car park entrance, Lorong Ceylon. Fried noodles and rice from Indian for breakfast, mixed rice from the same stall for lunch. Chinese also sells claypot chicken rice, hot pan fried noodles, soup and dishes for lunch. Some Malay food. You can get drinks from Malay. You'll be shocked with the prices. RM4 gets me a fried rice with egg for breakfast from Indian stall. RM7 for ABC soup and rice from Chinese stall.
@@WorldFamilyExplorers It's not even the prices that bother me that much but the grabby (or pushy*) touts: makes me want to start punching people [figure of speech, I don't!]. Have heard good things about ICC Pudu but haven't had the opportunity to make it there yet. * as you're finding out 😤 around 4:50 (I'm only halfway thru your video right now)
Yes, they were quite pushy which we don't like either, but I can appreciate the hustle. I've heard great things about the 2 food markets you mentioned and they are on my list to try next time ☺️
Only our son Logan is vegetarian. The rest if the family is not. He ate so much fried rice in Asia that we got quite tired of it 😅 but we can always find smoothies or fruit or some kind of treat that he likes 👍 We also cook more healthy food at home, this was just for fun to see the market.

Definitely a bit more expensive than some other more local markets...
@@TravelDad77 there are definitely some other markets with a little better prices...

Masha’Allah the Adz is all about Tourism. Likes8. In. Started watching now.
Hope you enjoy the video ❤️
Durian is also very famous in Philippines in Davao City... They call it. Smells like hell, Tastes like heaven.. i love that fruit 😋
The smell is next level! Even fried you still notice it 🤣 I know there's different varieties which one is your favorite?
@@WorldFamilyExplorersI don't know the types of durian coz it's so many and it's just all same smell 😅... I will just eat it all Durians 😋.. at first you won't like it but second time you will understand and love it
you should try the taman connaught weekly night market which is 2km long, and catered to locals and certainly cheaper.
Thank you for the recommendation! We will be back to KL in December and plan to go there then! 😊
The sausage looks like uncooked. 😮 I didn’t come to Jalan Alor when I visited KL. Wow the Lamb leg. Only the seafoods i want to try. 😋
Yeah I'm not sure on the sausage, it wasn't a crowd favorite 😅 but the pork skewer made up for it. This market was a bit pricey but it had some fun options we haven't seen before like that leg of lamb!
Tita Mmmm ❤😂
Jalan alor is very touristy. Prices is like double from other places for locals.
Yes we found that out 🤣 we went to many local market after this video that were much better priced ❤️

Sounds amazing thank you! We will definitely check it out! We won't put a budget on that one, just get all the food 😂
@@WorldFamilyExplorersIts about 1.50miles long
@calvyncraven1141 Wow, that is long!😯
5 usd each is slightly above 20 ringgit. If not because of prices in jalan alor you can stretch your budget
Yes this market was definitely pricier than we expected but had fun energy and we manage to find some good stuff 😅
Hope that you guys and your boys have had a good time with your exploration in KL.
You guys can get more value for money having street food from the pasar malam, the open night markets in and around KL, but no chairs and tables.
We loved exploring KL! Such a vibrant and diverse city and endless things to do with kids. We are already planning our return 😅
@@WorldFamilyExplorers Wonderful. That sounds lovely. 😀
...have you tried Ramly Burger, Malaysia's national burger. 👍😃
We haven't tried it yet but heard good things, so we definitely need to try it!
Here. ❤
Hope you enjoy the video ❤️
"I was a little pricey" 🤣🤣🤣 it's jalan alor of course
We found many other budget friendly food after this day....we learned 😊

Children and adults loves the Egg waffle skewers 😋
The egg waffle skewer was delicious! They had some really fun flavors 😋
There ara many food at KL not just Jalan alor...
We had a lot of amazing food in KL 😊
Have a great moment. Happy travel
Thank you so much! ❤️ 😊
Next time try the actual durian food. You do not hv to buy the entire fruit, but a few pods in a tupperware.
Thank you! We actually tried it in another video that will be coming soon 😉
Jalan Alor prices isn't cheap. It has tourist prices instead of local. There are some hidden stalls in KL that is cheap.
We thought it was a little pricey too 😅 we visited some more local markets with much better prices after 😊

So cool to see the boys learning & using the currencies in different countries. 😊
Lots of math involved 😂
I can't get over the smell of the Durian...😬

Jalan alor is tourist trap.
