    I have suffered for years after being contaminated from hinkley water. My son is 33 with tumors on his spinal cord and all three daughters suffer with having to have a hystorectomys. I have pain all the time and we got zero from this contamination. My family has died. Or suffered. Lived in hinkley all our lives, until we got older. Zero. Unfair

      I have heard some people from Hinkley say the only thing accurate about this movie is the name of it. If I am reading what you said correctly, you received nothing in the lawsuit. I have done a little bit of research on this case, I don't remember exactly what I read about it, but it did not reflect well on Brockovich. I am always skeptical of Hollywood portrayals, and that is what made me look into it. I can tell you that Hollywood left a lot out of movies like "Milk" with Sean Penn. If you have the strength, try going to the papers, although I am also skeptical of them.

    She delivers words so sharply and real quick witted. Girl what courarge to confront your big Goliath. Water contamination is so unavoidable. In India water is hardly madè available or accessible to the thirsty. People have to buy claen water for every day necessities. Drinking water is costly for the average middle income people. Ground water is dirty no matter how deep you dig in.

    The only people who see profit from Class-Action lawsuits.....are the law firms that take the case. They get the massive payout, everyone else gets the scraps off the table.
    If you have to sue your employer, a corporation, etc....and your lawyer talks about going "Class-Actionn"....leave immediately and find a lawyer willing to fight for JUST YOU.

    • @KjartanAndersen
      @KjartanAndersen 2 роки тому +2

      You can't have a trial where there is 400 lawyers present. And taking on a company as one person is the recipe for defeat. One lawyer with one client would never have the financial strength to beat the company's power.
      By class action you often get a very big law firm to take on the company. They use a lot of strength to do this. That is on their own risk. If they loose they get nothing. But if they win they need to get back for their effort.
      For the people needing the lawyers it is a question of getting nothing else than a lawyer bill or to win and get maybe half of the winnings. It's basically a no-brainer. And from what I have seen from the results of the class actions in the US it seems that the judges takes into account the big share given to the law firm and raises the penalty given to the company.
