As a therapist, dog lover, and human being this hit me on so many levels. Such beautiful inspiration to remind us not to judge ourselves by things we don't succeed at, but to find the thing we love/were meant to do. As for Patrick, yet further proof that we can accomplish anything we set our minds/determination to do. With so many excuses to use as "I can't because..." he still said yes and tried what others might say is impossible.

Only stupid humans do not think they have feelings and personalities. I raised my beautiful pack of odd end and rescue dogs. I let them blossom into themselves. In many ways they became my caretaker as I was thiers. As a pack I have no regrets, other than I wish we all could be together one more time for a day. Lemons into lemonade. It is sad that we have to have fundraisers in a rich nation.

How wonderful to see this beautiful dog reach her potential. We have raised Seeing Eye puppies for the past 7 years & I pray that each puppy we send back to the Seeing Eye Institute will graduate AND become the eyes for a blind person. We have been blessed that 2 or the 4 dogs we have raised have reached that potential. Our 4th dog, Nestled, will have her chance when she turns 18 months old & returns to the Seeing Eye for her formal, college training. Keep up the GREAT work.

I started being a Foster mom to rescue puppies and puppy mill dogs, about 2 months after my little rescue died 12 days short of being 17 1/2. Watching this video just brought tears to my eyes. It doesn't take much when it comes to the care and nurturing of animals. Thank you so much for posting this video - This is definitely worth sharing (Taylor Hicks - eessh, but the video - Kudos)

This was absolutely beautiful. Dogs are individuals, just like people. They shouldn't be bred for a specific purpose, they shouldn't be assumed or forced into a mold. Service dogs are best adopted from shelters, with proper evaluation of their character and willingness to perform. That way you'll know for sure they're already suitable in personality, with just training being left to make it work. Too many promising ones die in shelters while more puppies are born.

I have 2 small svc dogs (4lbs and 7lbs) and I'm amazed EVERY day at the people who stop me and question HOW can ?they? be service dogs for me, since I am NOT blind. This is a FANTASTIC video to show people the things that dogs can do for the disabled and how much of a difference they make to our daily lives - they are my spine and I couldn't live without them. Thank you for sharing this video with so many people and educating them.
Oh what to say than this reminded me of my boxer i have no physical disability but i Di have emotional and disabling pain. This video made me cry because it reminds me of her and it made me so so happy
She reminds me of my cross-trained service dog for the blind "Kristy". She also was a super winner in her second life helping a family through a cancer crisis. Then a year later, at the age of 4 went into total kidney failure. Our Golden Kristy...she looked just like Ricochet! God love this precious animal!
I was walking my Golden at 10 am. We stopped under a tree to pray with the group and send healing thoughts. I did not have a Kleenex with me. Couldn’t imagine I’d need one. How wrong I was. I just started crying, I was so overcome with emotion. It was a very moving experience. Thank you for sharing🐾💕

This just shows the power of a dream or desire. Both ricochet's and Patrick's. They trained the dog for one thing, yet he had a desire for something else, chasing birds and surfing. Wow, talking about thinking outside the box. And this was a dog. Thank God this dog's trainer saw his true life's calling/work and built on it. Whose training you? What hidden talents do you have? We have been gifted with the succes gene, if we but act upon it. God bless, let's win in 2010.
This is a beautiful story. I think it is wonderful that this young man Patrick was able to realize a DREAM through this dog's training! Why wouldn't this be OKAY to train a dog to do this? Wake up and realize that within seconds ANY one of our lives could be CHANGED in an instant....and WE might someday have to depend on someone for our daily exsistence.
