Hi Arthur, I'm a primary school PE teacher and about 40 minutes ago I showed my students your inspirational story. Normally they talk when a video finishes, but not this time. You could hear a pin drop - they were moved. So moved in fact, there were tears. You have inspired 22 young minds to dig deep when the going gets tough. Thank you.
Masha'Allah, that's awesome. His story truly is an inspiration. There should be more stories told about people overcoming such huge challenges in life. Stay blessed, y'all.
garip bir kanal You've seen the video, right? Guy can even run now and might have more control over his movement than many people his age, yet if he'd given up he would still be in a wheelchair. Life is not fair, we all have a different starting position in it, some are born into wealthy families and get everything since birth, some don't even have health, and many encounter severe hurdles during their lives, the kind of moments when you feel like your life is over and you're ready to give up. But the thing is that if you do give up then yeah, it will never be better, but if you don't... then you might fail anyway, but then you need to get up again, and again, until you've overcome the problem. In the end you will not only gain better life, but also lots of inner strength and unique outlook on life. And the moment the other people who have never seriously struggled in their life face their first real obstacle, that moment you'll be ahead of them because while they'll have no idea how to deal with it you'll still have the mentality of a fighter 👌 Never give up people, never ❤️

when i was 5 i had a brain injury and doctors thought id be retarded with limited motor function, mind you within the next few days i already started running around and they also had me play platforming and racing games, also this was in 2006, i do know the odds were in favor of their prediction, but ya they were just dead wrong i was literally back to mostly normal in 3 days just with amnesia of most of the time in the hospital, i remember afterwards people would tell me i had full conversations with people and was playing around with people i never saw at the hospital
@@beekarinsaan I've had a couple of times where I went in, they told me I had X problem saying I need prescription meds, later looking up alternatives online I find out there are other options instead of taking medication A, B, or C. My last doctors visit about 2 months ago. Did labs, they tell me I'm prediabetic now and my T is a little low, wanted to put me on Testosterone shots (I'm in my mid/late 30's and a recovering 15 year heroin addict so my body's kind of out of wack), asked him if there was any other way as I've heard there are side effects that, although not WILL but MAY happen, still I'd rather not take the chances as they include man-tits, acne, bad breath... A few days later as I'm looking up alternatives online and I find out about Intermittent Fasting. The basic idea is that you can eat (a balanced meal, you don't have to starve yourself) for X hours of the 24 hour day and the other Y hours you fast, and sleeping _includes_ your fasting hours. There's a 12:12 fast which means you eat normally 12 hours of the day and the other 12 is just water and sleep. Then there's a 10:14 where you eat within 10 hours of the day and fast the other 14. And then there's 8:16, again, eat within 8 h of the day and fast 16 (the one I'm working up to... The thing is that the longer your fast is the greater health benefits you can gain. I'm just getting into it but the idea is that when you DON'T eat your body goes into a super repair mode where (while on a balanced meal plan and exercises) when you workout while IF your body shifts into a metabolism and hormonal change where your efforts and multiplied than when you normally workout. There are other IF methods but the ones I mentioned seem the most attainable and easiest to follow through with. Not to mention it's supposed to raise T levels for men whether or not you suffer from low T, your sleep is supposed to improve, your brain also benefits with your mood elevating. And while you have to have a balanced diet you don't have to be on a super strict diet, it helps for those that want to get "ripped" but it's accommodating enough that you can slowly change with ease. The best part is that I'm not putting meds into my system worrying about side effects. After 2 months working out 4-7 days of the week I lost about 5-7 lbs (from 200lbs) but I've lost a lot of mass, besides the fact that I can see the gains this means I'm trading fat for muscle. It's great.

My son just sent this to me. I am a disabled veteran. (40 yrs young) lived in pain for 22 years. My time in the service left me riddled with Osteoarthritis ( severe left hip, left knee and mild right knee) I have degenerative disc disease in my lower back. My left hip needs to be replaced. I am no longer allowed to run or jump. No high impact activity. At times, I too want to hang it up and accept my life the way it is. Putting on socks on the left foot or clipping my left toe nails is extremely painful and challenging. After watching this inspirational video, I want to get up and doing more physiotherapy stretches. It motivates me to do more. Thank you. I will watch this over and over to help keep me motivated.
40 years not too much. Start doing kapalbhaatti and anulom vilom. Take complete fresh vegetables. No meat or packaed food. Stop having sex or default thoughts completely. Believe me u will will regenerate ur disk again. It is give completely new body . U have to do Both 30 -30 minutes in morning fresh air
This video changed my life. I was a lifetime alcoholic, in terrible shape. I finally managed to get sober but still wasn't really enjoying life. Then I found this, and it gave me just enough hope that I started doing DDP Yoga, that led to me starting to enjoy moving my body. I started walking, and ended up moving to Yoga With Adriene just for the calmer vibes, but 5 years later I still regularly do yoga. I'll always be thankful to DDP and Arthur for showing me what's possible.
@Jesusislord-hd7fe Your God didn't pull me out of my depression. I did. I put in the effort, I did the work, it was my sweat and blood. Your God did nothing and I was tired of waiting for him to save me, so I saved myself.
@Jesusislord-hd7fe Please don't. Your god watched while I was abused by a priest. I want nothing to do with anyone complicit in child abuse, as your god is.

@@cinemaparadiso5402 You can go somewhere else if you want to talk about politics. I don't know what your country's military looks like, or if you've ever done research, but you're sent to where you're sent to, and you serve where you serve. That's how fighting for your country works. You don't get to choose your assignments. And that's a much bigger situation so don't pretend it's boiled down to that one statement. Either way, this's a positive video about someone's journey through a personal struggle. Not the place for war debates.
It DID leave him clearly but he with help picked himself up and persevered. War and doctors broke his mental fortitude but he got back on that horse with help.
I've seen this video many times, and it brings tears to my eyes EVERY SINGLE TIME. When Arthur breaks into a full run toward the camera, that's the part that gets me the most.
most doctors become incredibly cynical. its part of the profession. you tell people, drink less, dont smoke, move more, dont do that meth, ect. they dont listen. its hard to find the ones that will.
I remember watching this video, partially paralyzed from brain lesions and autoimmune disease. Wondering if I’d live long enough for my 2 year old Son to remember me before I died. I would’ve given anything for a guarantee to have made it to his 18th birthday. I watch this today with no active disease in my body and I expect to live a very long life. Maybe to 100... Thank you for your courage.
As soon as the “all but one” text came up my tears started. All it takes is one good person helping your determination come to fruition sometimes. Bless the both of you. This is genuinely absolutely incredibly. “ just because I can’t do it today, doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be able to do it, someday.”
My son was paralysed from Transverse myelitis. The Dr's said he wouldn't recover but we didn't give up he worked hard, my wife massaged his legs every day. I actually came across this exact video several years ago. I typed in '1 year yoga journeys' to see what CAN be achieved. Watching this vid, as for many, brought tears to my eyes. Not only because of this guys healing journey, but because when i watched it, i had recently stopped being bed-ridden with severe MECFS (couldnt talk, couldnt think in words, couldnt understand language) Im on day 4 of my yoga journey, i can drive 30mins, i can walk 40mins and im looking forwards to a (finger's crossed) gradual return to work next year
What the actual heck?! It took UA-cam 7 whole years to put this in my recommended. Edit: Sweet sister Francis! Over a thousand likes, I feel so special. Thank you all!
I watched this 7 years ago with tears streaming down my face while I heard the song. I lost 40 lbs in that year. Over the last 7 years my close family passed away n my weight has shot back up to the same as 7 years ago. As this video appears to me again I'm reminded to get back up again.
V: You are not only one that has a situation like that. You are not alone. I lost my father few years back, and it has been *freaking* tough. And, I'm not a Loser-like of mentality. But, the loss of people close to you, can really hurt you deep down. So, know that another is understanding where you are. And, if you want to chat, I'm there. For me, I'm doing my best to get everything back together, but it's not an easy road.
You are not alone. You’ve got this. You’ve done it once, do it again. Sometimes we get back to square one. Maybe it’s a sign, to do-over, and this time, do better. Someone is rooting for you.
In 2018 i worked super hard to lose weight. I think i lost around 45 pounds (i also put on a ton of muscle). Then my life fell apart due to a number of injuries, illnesses, and lost loved ones, and i gave up on myself... Now im back where i started too. This is indeed a good reminder never to give up.
I thanked God when I first watched this video, in 2021. I was doing really badly due to COVID-19. That special day and time, I was feeling extremely bad. I couldn't breath and my nails were starting to become purple in color for the lack of oxygen. At that very moment, in my desperation, I received this video via WhatsApp, from a friend. It was magic to me. Something happened emotionally, that I new I will make it. And I did. Now, two years later I happened to see this video here, and it is my time to say: Thank you so much for helping me breath again, for giving me the strength I needed to overcome that difficult situation in my life.
I love that Arthur was trying so hard to change: "most Yoga instructors turned me away." He was looking for help. He was actively wanting to change. Way to go, Arthur!!! You deserve your successes!
I think that's the case of shit yoga instructors. Most of them are probably guys after a 2 week course, with zero experience. A "patient" like that is too risky for them. It's the modern version of something very popular in the 80s I guess, called McDojo. Place opened by some idiot who thinks they know martial arts to get money from unsuspecting students.
Coming back to this video, probably 10 years after I first watched it. I'm in a different place now than where I was a decade ago and I really needed to see this. While outwardly people see that I've gained 50lbs in a year, what they don't see is the mental place I've been in that caused that, and how much harder it is to do the simplest tasks when being this much heavier. 11 days ago I began walking daily again on a treadmill followed by either an upper or lower body strength & flexibility workout depending on the day. My goal is to regain the mobility, strength & balance that I've lost. I can't wait to be the person I once was. Watching this video again has reminded me that my goals are entirely possible. Thank you for keeping this video up.
This is beautiful. Doctors also told me I’d be crippled by the time I was 35. I am now 46, run daily and am healthy as a horse. They also told me my second daughter had Edwards Syndrome and would not survive birth. She’s now 18 graduating high school with a 98 average. Doctors know a lot, but they don’t know everything. Our will is more powerful than anything in this world.
kirihara I had An autoimmune disorder that affected not only my organs but my joints as well. I woke up one morning and could not get out of bed, the inflammation and damage to my joints they told me was irreparable. Told me to prepare for multiple surgeries and then to be wheelchair bound.
Right now I'm writing this from hospital.....my granny is lying in front of me......those fucking doctors have taken all her hopes.....now she is 356lbs and quite sure she won't recover, she's 57, that's not really that bad of a age, is it??
@@abigail7496 my aunt is a doctor too, and I know that doctors have to take hard choices and also take responsibilities for the outcomes. My aunt, or to say my grandma's daughter, was in tha team of the doctors who treated her. So I was not questioning their abilities or duties at all. They did their best. By taking her hopes, i meant they discussed her situation (which was not great) right in front of her, which was not professional. So she became extremely hopeless. I am sorry, i was and still am, in depression. I love her more than my mother, so she meant a whole world to me.
I saw this video a couple of years ago at low point of my life: 120lbs overweight, Chronic back pain, stress injuries to both feet and knee injuries. I couldn't walk thirty steps without my body locking up in pain. I thought I was going to be resigned to crutches or a wheelchair for the rest of my life. I cried so hard when I saw this video. A month later, I took my first yoga class. 20 months and 51lbs later, I can run, jump and tumble around with my 5-year old. when i was 5 i had a brain injury and doctors thought id be retarded with limited motor function, mind you within the next few days i already started running around and they also had me play platforming and racing games, also this was in 2006, i do know the odds were in favor of their prediction, but ya they were just dead wrong i was literally back to mostly normal in 3 days just with amnesia of most of the time in the hospital, i remember afterwards people would tell me i had full conversations with people and was playing around with people i never saw at the hospital

It's great.
I saw this 5 years ago i had many health problems + overweight 120kg-s and i was into deep darkness, drinked a alcohol a lot. In 2019 i started working on my self. You can do everything bro, except give up fighting .
Vitiligo people have beautiful skin. It makes you unique. Anyone who makes you feel otherwise is probably an insecure person who doesn't know real beauty. I'm glad this story helped you. Let your light shine bright in this world. ❤️❤️

I cried thank you so much for sharing im 31 years old became ill in 2023 woke up one morning and i was paralyzed from head to toes i gaved up and wanted to die went through so much treatment to find out i have a neurological disease thats non curable.. they told me i would never walk again and that i would be going home in a wheelchair but i refused to believe it and tried to get up from my hospital bed and ended up falling on the ground but i kept trying and when no one believed that i would 1 month after i got up at 3 am and i was walking in the hospital hallway the doctors jaw dropped and they made me start physiotherapy the next day.. today im happy to say i can walk again i cant run or do what you can do now but this inspires me and shows me that maybe i can if i believe again so thank you

I’m so inspired by Arthur’s success! I’m where he started. Unable to walk- no muscle strength..desperate for a caring coach like DDP! ❤

Mary Caroline AMEN!
That last scene when he started running was insanely emotional. So happy for this man.
Same Drew, I started bawling.
I cried. Amazing.
This guy is a Special Ed teacher & advisor for the Sci-fi & Fantasy Club at my high school. To learn that someone who seems like a pretty normal, laid-back guy overcame such insurmountable obstacles is truly mind-blowing to me. My respect for him has increased beyond comprehension. Mr. Boorman, your story is one of the most inspirational things I've ever heard of. Thank you.

I've watched this countless times but that SPRINT....... Still takes my breath away! Stay blessed!

This guy: I am about to end this doctor's whole career*
And FAST, too!! I had to rewind and watch again holy moly!
Try Hard And Don't Believe It Do What You Want To Do It's Your Life You Are What You Do
No doctor treat themselves the way they treat their patients and I mean professionally
Don't accept it as a fact accept it as a challenge. Just do it ✔
