Coincidentally, I only discovered this piece of music just a couple of weeks before you uploaded this (I was listening to the video of Svetlanov conducting - with his arms folded!), and I've been listening to your performance ever since. It's a really beautiful performance. I wonder if you had only just found this waltz too? Or maybe you've known it for ages. Anyway, I really like your channel, keep it up!!
Hi James, I appreciate your kind words! I'm from USSR, and this waltz was very popular there, so I was familiar with it since childhood. But I discovered a guitar arrangement for it 6 years ago by this genius musician Maxim Chigintsev. Very beautiful and captivating indeed. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/_NVi_-4xC8s/v-deo.html (it is not among UA-cam search results, probably because of cyrillic in the title).
@AndreiPuhach Russia has the best composers, eh! I'm still discovering great new pieces. I always love listening to guitar renditions of classical music. Love Schubert Serenade too. They translate so well. I really need to learn to play!
@@JamesCurran-dm4mv Btw, I recently discovered Old Lime Tree, a Russian folk song arranged by Sergey Rudnev. To me it is on par with La Catedral by Barrios. Here is my favorite rendition: ua-cam.com/video/z0-jvFgcahk/v-deo.html
@AndreiPuhach Andrei, I'm sorry that I've taken so long to respond. I've had a hectic few days... I've only just sat down and listened to that. It was extraordinary. Have you started learning it?
@@JamesCurran-dm4mv Hi James, yes, I started learning the difficult parts to see whether I have enough skills to pull it off :) My dream is to learn it and play beautifully live at an open mic event.
Hi, unfortunately, I cannot freely share it. Here is the site where you can purchase it from the arranger: guitarsolo.info/en/guitar-sheets-tabs/vals-iz-kinofilma-metel/
Very nice!
Спасибо, красивое исполнение такой красивой музыки!
"Snowstorm"...... а мне уже солнышка и тепла хочется!!!
